Woman's Business and Tailoring skills
Poverty and Unemployment has risen in our local villages and communities especially after the COVID-19 that has kept people from working mostly street vendors.
The aim of our project is to empower the unemployed young woman and single mothers to help sustain themselves, to better their lives and that of their young children by providing them with Tailoring skills, beading skills and business skills. To sew clothing and skills to sell those clothing.
To improve the standard of living for woman in rural communities, to reduce poverty, malnutrition and to improve living conditions in our community
To provide woman with Training in tailoring, managerial and capacity building to enable them to create Job opportunities and run businesses
To contribute to gender equality for woman to also become contributors to the their local economy
The lack of Job opportunities is a problem in our communities, Young woman and unskilled single mothers are victims of this situation. which leads to a rise in young mothers, prostitution, desperation and poverty
In our database so far we have 870 unemployed youth and single mothers and only in one village amongst our surrounding villages and the number keeps rising and rising. Women in these poor families find difficult to manage families. They are deprived of nutritious food, health care and minimum education.
Therefore there is a need to introduce skills training to rehabilitate suffering women’s economic status by organizing and providing tailoring and business training.
- The solution to our problem is to equip woman with Tailoring skills and business skills. to sew and sell.
- Women will have developed the skills in tailoring as well as managerial and technical capacities to run a business and potentially create jobs
- To create an inclusive and innovative income generating skills for unemployed youth, single mothers and enhance the socio-economic development of women trough tailoring and selling skills or business skills
- Awareness, exposure, skills development and marketing for traditional crafters, protective clothing, face musk, fashion designers as a strategy for economic empowerment for women
- Increased economic, nutritional and health status of the target families
- To improve the quality of life, economic conditions and provide source of income to the target families to minimize their problems and needs related to the financial matters of the families
- Women will have economic independence
This project is targeting the Unemployed youth, single mothers, widows, unskilled woman and low income woman. These woman living under their disadvantaged conditions of poverty and unemployment are given a chance to learn and change their lives from victims to victors through the training.
To provide the woman with basic equipment and support to start Job creating activities and business skills,
These women are excited, energetic and open for creative ideas and innovative learning, Increased economic, nutritional and health status of the targeted woman
To improve the quality of life, economic conditions and provide source of income to the target families to minimize their problems and needs related to the financial matters of the families.

With the dimension ENABLE SMALL AND NEW BUSINESSES, with the skills that woman will receive through this project woman will have the ability to start new businesses of producing/tailoring clothing,curtains and also protective clothing ( FACE MUSK to prevent COVID-19) the business prospects are limitless when their equipped with business and tailoring skills.
Enable woman start their new businesses, this means employment opportunities, community development, capacity building and entrepreneurship
