There are various effects of polyethene/plastic waste products to the environment which have now dominantly taken the lead as the major cause of environmental degradation of the city and the country at large.
Littered plastic/ polyethene materials negatively affect the image and appearance of places, especially Kampala city and are naturally changing the beauty of the city and surroundings.
It is literally evident that;
Plastic/polythene suffocates and chokes wild life, hence depopulating the capacity of the indigenous wildlife of the country.
Plastic/polyethene suffocates the soil; Plastic/polyethene objects do prevent plant penetration and suppress decomposition.

Put large collection centres where waste can be gathered from the environment

Many investors /plastic dealers in Uganda are on a threat to be kicked out of business or even be over levied on taxes. But this can do us more harm than good or seems like cutting our own throats because, these investors/dealer;

They simplify our goods packaging needs
