Ugandan population estimated at 45 million, this increase has led increased unemployment, poverty, hunger, and environmental degradation. Therefore with your support support we shall carry out the above training targeting 100 families for a duration of 2 months. We shall do training of families on making liquid soap, bakery, home gardening, how to make charcoal saving stoves and charcoal brickets from wastes as a means to conserve environment and proper waste management strategy.
Ugandan population estimated at 45 million, this increase has led to high unemployment rate, poverty, hunger, and environmental degradation. Bukasa has about 100,000 people sorrounding lake Victoria majority of which are semi-literate.
Our recent study has also shown the reduction of Lake Victoria water levels due to encroachment and poor environmental practices. Therefore with your support we shall carry out the above vocational training targeting 100 families for a duration of 2 months.
This training shall provide employment, solve environmental degradation, support their children’s education, bring family stability as family income increases, solve diseases caused by malnutrition, and solve HIV/AIDS spread through economic empowerment.
1- Equip families with entrepreneur vocational and business skills like bakery, that using locally available resources.
2- Train families on how to use available idle resources like compound land, verandas, for home gardening to generate extra income.
3- Training of families on how to make charcoal brickets from wastes as a means to conserving environment and proper waste management strategy.
Our training is targeting 100 families located in Bukasa Kirinya. Having been involved in community leadership as Head of laity of St. James church, we have identified the above challenge and therefore seeking support to train our community with vocational skill that can lift them from poverty. People will be able to begin small businesses, that will help to solve poverty, through saving of their incomes investment will increase.
- Enable small and new businesses, especially in untapped communities, to prosper and create good jobs through access to capital, networks, and technology
Our training is targeting equipping 100 families with vocational business skills and home gardening skills. These families will work as demonstration centers for the rest of the communities. We have done the skilling program before in other communities with much success.
- Growth: An organization with an established product, service, or business model rolled out in one or, ideally, several communities, which is poised for further growth
- A new business model or process
Our skilling program aims at turning the once community problem into income generating fortunes. We look at turning waste into charcoal and manure, hence creating jobs, saving environment, making homes food hurbs and safe from health related diseases. We equip unemployed fathers, mothers and youth with skills that make them productive hence solving the dangers of poverty, HIV/AIDS spread, crimes, malnutrition, etc.
Our idea is developed on business vocational training technology and the use of available resources like compound to produce food to sustain families an surplus for income.
Bakery will use baking machines, and families that will need to do farming on a large space.
We have done several trainings before the most recent done in Nabutiti- Kasanga found in Kampala suburb.
