AI and emergent tech education platform
Artificial Intelligence is changing the world but unfortunately there are no resources for school students to learn and develop the skills of the future. There are many new fields that students don’t get exposed to, and therefore are uninformed of pathways where they could excel in, or be passionate about, if given the opportunity.
We are developing an online education platform for school students, families and teachers. We are building a community of AI experts that will provide mentoring and share knowledge with younger generations through webinars and AI classrooms.
We will provide online courses in English, Spanish and Japanese. We plan to customize our AI programs for different regions/countries to inspire young people to apply AI to solve problems for their own context and experiences.
We are starting with AI but we will keep adding courses/programs to learn Blockchain, quantum computing, etc. Students will be updated about latest technologies.
Only few countries started to provide AI literacy to non technical people, AI will increase the digital gap if there are no initiatives to develop AI talent globally, specially for developing countries where governments do not provide any support for technological education/STEAM programs. About 47% of the population are users in the developing countries. School students already have access to mobile phones but are not using it to learn/develop skills.
This initiative is also working to decrease the gender gap in technology. The AI experts in our community are mainly ladies and will provide talks/workshops to inspire young girls. We work closely with AI communities in Latin America and Europe for women.
Finally, we also provide workshops and training for school teachers to teach AI and seminars for parents. We want to bring AI literacy to everyone so all of us are part of the discussion about about AI, benefits, opportunities and the ethical issues/concerns for society.
We are developing an online education platform. Our very first course "The wonderful of AI" for beginners is ready and currently in pilot stage. We started to develop the platform and course working in collaboration with the University of Auckland, New Zealand. We also working with experts in education and teachers to take care about the pedagogy side of our courses, they introduced Bloom taxonomy to develop the critical thinking. Thus our online courses are designed to introduce foundational concepts, real-time interaction with several AI technologies (image classification, human pose analysis, speech recognition, face analysis) and discuss with family members at the end of each lesson (learning by teaching approach), develop critical thinking skills and have fun! We are using topics such as sports or dancing to teach AI.
Target population are school students, starting with high schools, teachers and non technical people. We provide a gently introduction to AI and the opportunity to play/explore first, then we focus on the technical training by providing intermediate, advanced and mentoring programs.
Younger generations will be benefited by being connected and updated about what is happening in the technical world. They will be able to explore, learn, reflect and apply AI to make their impact without waiting to start/finish university. For developing countries where sometimes university is not an option, school students will develop the skills and spark the interest to keep learning and opening opportunities at school stage. Thus, we are unlocking the talent and potential of young people everywhere.
