Abaxto
Many segments of the population do not have access to product information other than what some people offer them. During COVID-19 and the Chilean Movements of October our platform showed how it can help the economy by providing a strong omnichannel.
We are not just a B2B2C platform because we are highly scalable creating marketplaces, white labels, or just a directory of small and medium businesses for people to contact directly creating new business opportunities.
Abaxto captures transactional data including products, quantities, prices and GPS positioning to create a database rich of quantifiable and qualifiable.
Abaxto's platform is helping many companies and local governments to better understand what people habits are with Demographic and Psychographic data providing insights to what is needed for better decision making. We are changing the world! Our technology helps society to grow in jobs and the economy with an increase of over 200% during COVID-19.
Problems are many, solutions are not. We are helping to maintain jobs, create new jobs and provide real-time transactional information to whomever needs it.
We are providing real time transactional and geospatial data gathering which is almost non-existent in the B2B2C segment. Our platform is not just looking at transactions, but it is showing population habits and trends with heatmaps, analysis of data and segmentation. This information is not only highly needed by companies, governments, distributors, points-of-sale but also by the population in general.
Our definition of B2B2C is not just sales but a way to create an omnichannel capable of truly share the information between all the players in the ecosystem.
Our technology allows us to include all type of information such as product transaction, gender, age range and any other segmentation that could be needed for a better Business Intelligence.
Our solution is a highly scalable platform that can exchange information between native mobile applications, webs, and any other device capable of providing transactional capture of information in real time.
We create a bridge between people and products and vice versa. We see every transaction as a relationship between all players in the ecosystem because what one does could affect the rest.
This is one of the many real-life examples: two similar products from two different companies are sold by one distributor. Through transactional and geospatial data, we compared the sales of these products side by side using a heatmap. We discovered that even when one product had a larger coverage than the other it did not sale as well as the other. The company with the smaller coverage sold more (more red areas in the coverage). This information is important because a geo-fence was built for the one with the smaller coverage and all devices within the geofence received push notifications with promotions increasing the coverage and sales of the second company showing how habits can affect other segments of society.
We consider Abaxto a Social Startup and as such our target market is the whole population. Our platform helps private citizens and companies to buy and/or sale products from their inventories. These businesses could be neighborhood and convenience stores, hardware stores, drug stores, HORECA, restaurants, etc.
Out platform is already impacting the lives of our users during COVID-19. Even though in business have closed because they were not ready for such a worldwide disaster we have grown and helped our users and clients to continue working and purchasing with social distancing and other biosecurity standards.
We have already shown how strong and scalable is our platform and how businesses have continue growing and society in general has continue getting products. The data we have gathered also shows which areas are the ones using our technology showing that our theory was correct; segments B-C of society that did not use this technology are now using it growing by the day.
- Enable small and new businesses, especially in untapped communities, to prosper and create good jobs through access to capital, networks, and technology
On one hand we help marginalized populations to be able to strengthen their small businesses creating a new source of revenue and jobs, on the other hand, companies also see an increase in business generating the creation of new jobs. It is a win-win proposal for all the ecosystem.
We believe that family businesses cannot disappear because in many countries these businesses are the ones moving the economy. For example, in Perú more than 75% of the annual retail sales come from these small businesses while the rest 25% come from well established businesses such as superstores.
- Scale: A sustainable enterprise working in several communities or countries that is looking to scale significantly, focusing on increased efficiency
- A new business model or process
Our platform is innovative because it not only focuses on sales but also transactional and geospatial data from a B2B, B2C and B2B2C point of view allowing the players of the ecosystem to be better informed creating a real-time omnichannel.
The data gathered can be used in many ways by different people or organizations to help society be better informed. Our data captures demographic and psychographic information in real time providing a tool for better business decision making.
This is something that has not been done before, other companies focuses in sales while we focus on data captured through sales.
Our platform has been divided in three modules: The back-end composed by geospatial databases and algorithms within the databases, the middleware which are our APIs that allow us to communicate information back and forth making our system highly scalable to the point we can connect directly to ERPs in a transparent way to our clients and users. The third module are the devices and web platforms that use our middleware APIs.
The technology used is:
- Back-end: Postgresql geospatial database
- Middleware: Microsoft NetCore REST APIs
- Devices: Native development (Kotlin for Android, SwiftUI for iOS and MVC Netcore for our webs)
The backend and API services are hosted in the Amazon cloud.
Our platform is based on Postgresql and Microsoft technology in the back-end and middleware and native device technology on the mobile or front-end.
All algorithms used as well as development has been done in-house and it is already working with distributors in Chile, Peru and soon in Puerto Rico and the USA.

Our solution already had a huge impact on the problem and society. We experienced the impact as soon as we launched in Chile and later in Peru. The eCommerce experience of our clients in these two countries experienced and increase they have never seen before. During the past social unrest in Chile many companies closed doors while our client increased their sales. During COVID-19 we helped maintain the communication between clients and users increasing sales and providing the population of a secure way to purchase essential goods in a secure manner.
The number of users increased from 3,000 to over 30,000 in less than two months showing that the platform is robust and scalable. The data gathered has helped with geo-segmentation and a better understanding of what the population needs.
We are here to stay and help society to improve processes and understanding of habits. As it was mentioned earlier, we are not just a B2B, B2C, B2B2C business, we are a way to change business is done.

- We are currently serving over 30,000 clients and this number is growing daily.
- In another year we plan to server 500,000 clients or more expanding to Chile, Perú, Puerto Rico. Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico and the USA. We are currently in coversations with local governments in Colorado to provide our technology and help their small businesses grow.
- In five years we are planning to gather at least 10% of the population in LATAM and the USA.
- Within the next year we are focusing on new technology and marketing according to the needs of society. For example, we will be inclusing tracking and inventory for small businesses in LATAM while increasing the marketing of our platform in the countries we already hava presence.
- In five years we expect to be in all of LATAM as well as the USA.
Initially we thought that COVID-19 would be our greatest challenge or barrier to grow, however, our platform grew, helped society, and proved that it was a robust and scalable one.
We have seen other cultural barriers such as technology adoption, but it is changing rapidly thanks to our new normal. We believe the greatest challenge in the next year to continue growing in this ever-changing world is the fact that new players are showing up not knowing what exactly is needed and causing confusion in the marketplace.
In the next five years our vision is to make sure we get stronger always using state-of-the-art technology and discovering new ways to capture information to feed AI and IoT processes, however, we know that the challenge in the long-run is to stay ahead of potential competition. We cannot fall into the “Business as Usual” mode.
The best way to overcome these issues is with a well-established company culture where everyone has a voice and feel comfortable providing new ideas. We honestly believe that all the ideas are good because even if it is a small one, we can build a greater and better one based on that small idea.
Communication, exchange of ideas and execution are keys to maintain pace and overcome any barrier that appears in the future.

Abaxto generates revenue in the following ways:
- White Label: A white label is Abaxto Technology used by specific big companies, distributors, and brands with their logos and colors. Usually the margins for these companies is smaller but their volumes are higher. The cost to use our platform with a white label is as follows:
- One-time setup fee of US$10,000
- 2% commission/transaction
- Monthly maintenance fee of US$1,000
- Marketplace: This is the same technology used by the White Label; however, companies share a same space to sell their products and services:
- One-time setup fee per company of US$500
- 20% commission/transaction
- Monthly fee of US$100 that can be waived based on volume of transactions
- Marketplace as White Label: with limited number of products
- One-time setup fee per company of US$3,000
- 20% commission/transaction
- Monthly fee of US$500 that can be waived based on volume of transactions
- Customization: We are able to customize our white labels and as such we charge depending of the scope of work.
- Data for Analysis: We also provide data as a revenue stream. The pricing varies depending on the type and amount of data.
- Organizations (B2B)
We are already generating revenue; however, we need to grow and expand and in order to accomplish our goals we are open to receiving funding via grants, accelerator programs, investments.
It is important to point out that our first goal is to achieve 1M transactions with an average ticket of US$150. Just by doing a simple equation we can foresee a monthly gross revenue of:
- Gross Transactions: 1M transactions/month x US$150 average ticket = US$1,500,000,000
- Charging a commission of %1/transaction (this is the lowest fee we can charge to a distribution company)
- Monthly Gross Revenue: Gross Transactions * 0.01 = US$1,500,000/month
We believe that Solve can help us grow in LATAM and the US with funding for marketing and research. IN this way we can avoid staying in a Business as Usual mode.
The funding will help us promote the brand with distributrs, brands and society in general using our platform to buy/sale products and services and gathering geospatial data that can be used in already existing technologies and new ones to come.
We will get exposure and a string network to promote our know-how and platform for B2B, B2B2C, D2C in any needed segment of society.
- Product/service distribution
- Funding and revenue model
- Legal or regulatory matters
- Marketing, media, and exposure
Our goal is to promote economic grow of the population, companies, and local governments. Partnering with MIT is important to us because it will help us promote a technological solution that must be available to all people and levels of society.
There is a lot of informal businesses growing in several regions worldwide. Abaxto can help bring those businesses to formality and at the same time gather information for a better decision making for local businesses, global businesses, local governments and people in general.
First of all, we are open to partner with organizations that share are beliefs in society and how to help people grow economically. The partnership we seek can be as investors, joint ventures, acceleration programs and/or mentorships.
We would love to partner with organizations that help promote well being of the population through technology and technological platforms. Our platform is fully scalable and see it as a great asset to help the economy in different areas of the world such as LATAM, Africa and South East Asia.
Abaxto CEO’s is a woman and our social help focus includes women and girls. Let’s remember that the majority of informal businesses and small formal ones (neighborhood grocery stores) in LATAM and other regions worldwide are run by women between 25 and 60 years of age. These businesses can take full advantage of our platform to grow economically and in experience and in this way help women in society.
One of the biggest issues for Fintech companies as well as the whole banking system, in regions such as LATAM, is the lack of information from people in the streets. If you are part of the banking system (i.e. have bank accounts) then you can have access to all types of loans. However, if you are informal you usually pay cash and the banking system does not know anything about you.
This is a huge issue since, in most countries in LATAM, these informal businesses generate over 70% of the country’s economy. Many banks have tried with no success to gather information to provide loans or any other banking service to this segment of the population.
Abaxto platform provides such information from transactional data performed by these businesses through our platform. We are able to give a snapshot of what is going on with our users and the banking system through algorithms can start providing micro-loans and, in that way, start to move these businesses to a more formal environment. As a matter of fact we are doing that already in Perú.
