Solving food problem through local farming can help communities on many levels addressing issues like food scarcity and high unemployment rates.

However, with rapid urbanisation, agriculture lands and produced food is diminishing, and cities footprints are growing; we need creative ideas that can be used in an urban context - Urban Farming. 

Every Rooftop or balcony or empty shelf is an un-tapped opportunity. 

This startup will take a deep disruptive step further by designing, affordable, smart, water-efficient, easy to maintain, urban farming solutions/furniture for small spaces in homes and linking it with digital AI assisting tool and online support community.

1. Absence of integrated Home Farming Ecosystem 

In urban areas, potentially homes can contribute in growing food, every roof, balcony of shelf is an opportunity. Due to the small scale, there is a lack of consulting support, furniture systems that are designed to integrate with home farming system and lack of markets.

2. Lack of community support for new home farmers:

 Online learning is great but it doesn't provide a long term support.The idea here is once you install a system you are part of a community of peers and experts! share and trade! 

An Ecosystem for Home Farming. (Furniture, Plantation, Online community)

The construct will include:

1. Design and Manufacturing Line of home furniture that ENABLES home farming.

2. AR Mobile app that analyse spaces and gives customised consulting on the type of furniture and food that can be grown.

3. Design and Manufacturing of home farming modular units that are linked back to the Mobile app and the furniture selections.

4. Online community of peers for (Learning , Consulting, Sharing and Trading)

3. AI- There will be potential sensors that can measure humidity and daylight levels inside the house to help the user know which plants are best to grow.

My Story:

Working at the intersections between the Digital and Physical Industries, solving built environment challenges using tech.

During my career, I had the chance to practice at an International level most roles in the domains of Sustainable Built Environment, energy and urban analysis, and design. Using innovation in tech in solving global built environment problems.

I worked in Market Research, Project Management, Concept Design, Energy Modelling and Management, Urban Design, Construction Detailing, Design and Construction Management, and now Operations Optimisation and software development. I had completed projects in more than 15 cities worldwide, serving different cultures and economic levels, with concentration in Emerging Markets.

Impact:

My aspiration was finding ways to elevate functional end-user engagement, ethics of consulting, Sustainable and Resilient Management of Resources, and to use tech in the built environment related industries.

My international background will enable me to create the right customer persons, understand their needs and answering them. My experience in managing sustainability business globally will help me design and brand the right product that can solve global problems with the minimum resources available.
