Nanotechnology presents Fish for all.
Fishes are one of the greatest sources of healthy protein all over the world.
It can provide a healthy and rich source of protein for every one but this is actually doesn't happen. Some kinds of Fishes can't be easily reached by everyone beside some of them despite their high nutritional value are very expensive for many people to buy that is because overfishing is a very serious threat to the life in our oceans.
Using Nanomaterials as essential additives for feeding Fishes can help in increasing their bodies' weight and their protein content beside increasing their reproduction rate and preserve the aquaculture fish wealth from many diseases that may affect them.
These can be easily applied in aquaculture farms and scaled globally. These will let Fishes more abundant and available for everyone with reasonable prices.
- Overfishing is a very serious threat to the life in our oceans. Whether its fish being taking for the aquarium industry or the food industry. The methods which are used for fishing are often damaging too. Without responsible and sustainable decisions, fish consumption will continue to have negative effects on the preservation of fish stocks, their habitat and on people – especially in developing countries.Data from the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), collated at a global scale, suggest that c. 47% of fish stocks are already exploited to their maximum sustainable limits, while 18% are reported as over‐exploited and 10% are depleted . In other words, the FAO identify a clear requirement to reduce fishing pressure on a substantial proportion of the world's fisheries.By overfishing, we are destroying entire ecosystems and the food chains which are essential to keep them thriving. Not only is overfishing wiping entire species out, it’s also having a direct impact on other species in the food web. Some of the methods used for fishing are destructive in themselves, such as bottom trawling which destroys habitats and captures many fish which are not even wanted, and then tossed aside.
Aquaculture is often lauded as a potential solution to fishery problems because it allows the economic and efficient production of fish protein, and because production can occur over a wide range of climates. Nanotechnology has a tremendous potential to revolutionize agriculture and allied fields including aquaculture and fisheries.
Research had demonstrated that different nanomaterials supplemented in basal diet could improve the final weight, relative gain rate, antioxidant status and growth rate as well as Glutathione Peroxidase(GSH-Px) activities and muscle essential elements concentration. Our aim is to use selected types of nanomaterials to be added to Fishes basal diet at certain concentrations and monitor enhancement of the previously mentioned items to increase fish production in aqucultures and Fishers hundred but may be thousands folds the outputs that were detected before applying nanomaterials in the basal diet for fishes.
Nanotechnology undoubtedly presents a major opportunity for the economy and sustainable development of aquatic resources in many countries. it may have the potential to solve most of the problems in aquaculture and fisheries with better technical innovation at different levels. Here, our target is to provide healthy, and highly admired food source which is Fish to poor people all over the world at very reasonable and affordable prices. Beside that new job opportunities and new markets will be opened for people all over the world.

Fisheries and aquaculture for breeding fishes are some old things. They use the traditional diets of different ingredients to feed and grow up fishes. What is new about my idea is using nanomaterials as essential additives to these diets beside the ability to exclude traditional diets and replace them with nanomaterials full based diets which will definitely increase fishes yield, reproductivity and weight. No one had applied this technology before for on a large scale as we intend to do if available in our project. It was just for scientific research purposes.
