Eco electro sowing
Problem: The food unsafety caused by its scarcity in cities.
Solution: System of automated eco agriculture. It is for the material raw (reuse of materials destined to the waste) and for saving water in the moment of hydrating the plants with the exact quantity of that (Ruled by computer programming language united to electronic circuits). Finally, the excess water will be recirculated to return to the system (automation).
Changing lives: It is a cheap way of facing the food unsafety caused by the losing of nutritive fields and by the decrease of their workers in the world. Additional to this, by the growing untrustworthiness for not knowing the origin of the food products and for taking care our health more than ever in this CoVID 19 pandemic. So, their owners can sow those food products for auto consume, for selling and for spending their leisure time.
The food unsafety, above all in cities, caused by its scarcity.
Food prices average 2.6 each year, for 20 years. Food shortages are linked to political problems, bringing violence as a final product. According to FAO, records of food price rises were broken in 2008 and ended in fights and leaders in 48 countries. This is because a system doomed to climate change failure continues.
Besides this, many agriculture fields and workers decrease in all the world according Sheffield Grantham Center University for the sustainable futures in the UK in 2015. The world has lost almost 33% in adequate crop fields since 1975 until that date and the rate of losses of agro jobs since 1990 to 2010 is from 29% to 25% according to the FAO in 2016.
Finally, currently there is a growing lack of trustability because of not knowing the origin of the food and for taking care our health more than ever in the context of the pandemia CoVID 19.
It is Eco electro sowing, automated urban eco agriculture.
This project is an agricultural system that optimizes the use of water as it allows only the amount of water required for each food product in its substrate aided by electronic circuits. The excess water will be recirculated to return to the system (automation that could be managed through a computer because it contains a programming language). It also uses solid waste as supplies. It is small in size, easy to install, to operate anywhere and gives a friendly and reassuring face to the buildings of an increasingly devouring and stressful Lima. Human supervision will only be done on a few occasions and by the creator of the project.
At the beginning, our target population are citizens who stay at home almost every day (Household keepers) from intermediate and high social level because they know and are interested in eco activities for leisure time and, if they are going to produce some benefit, they will be welcome. According to the statistics, they are 178,718.
Parallel, we can work with organic food stores (first with restaurants) in order to make them to get interested in this device. It helps to give them a new strategy for obtaining fresh and healthy food without much cost and also, giving a nice view to their walls. According to the virtual statistics, they are 14. Finally, we are going to work with 192,718 people approximately.
In order to know and understand the target population needs, we will make a survey that is going to be useful to prioritize them and adequate our system according to that and according to the essence of our invent (plants-size, quantity and distribution, aspect of the materials to use, etc).
- Improve supply chain practices to reduce food loss, scale new business models for producer-market connections, and create low-carbon cold chains
The food unsafety caused by its scarcity in cities occurs because of the losing of nutritive fields and by the decrease of their workers in the world. Also, by the growing untrustworthiness for not knowing the origin of the food products and for taking care our health in this CoVID 19 pandemic.
Our system of vertical automated eco agriculture is done reusing materials destined to the waste) and saving water exactly (Ruled by computer programming language united to electronic circuits). Its excess will recirculate.
Our target population can sow those food products for auto consume, selling and relaxing.
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model
- A new application of an existing technology
In Lima, Peru there are vertical gardens/plot many years ago. Some people offer courses by Facebook for teaching how to make it but their objectives are decorative and, if they consider to teach how to make a vertical plot, they don't do eco-efficiently.
My competitors in Lima and Callao are the NGO Alev that offers courses related to vertical gardens and plots non eco efficient, the enterprise Urban garden (Non eco efficient gardens) and Irrigarden (With automation but without reusing domestic solid waste).
Our solution is unique because it incorporates electromagnetic technology, eco efficiency and low cost for food safety without occupying so much space in a city.
- This project is an agricultural system that optimizes the use of water allowing only the amount of water required for each food product in its substrate aided by electronic circuits.
- This system is a vertical vegetable plot compounded by columns and rows of little pots that are containers destined to be thrown to garbage (empty plastic bottles, discarded glasses, etc).
- Each plant located in a pot is different than its neighbor in order to avoid plagues (polycrop).
- The substrate for each pot comes from domestic organic humus preferably.
- The excess water will be recirculated to return to the system (automation that could be managed through a computer because it contains a programming language that could be at the beginning the known as ARduino, Python, etc).
- It is small in size, easy to install, to operate anywhere and gives a friendly and reassuring face to the buildings of an increasingly devouring and stressful Lima. Human supervision and maintenance will only be done on a few occasions and by the creator of the project (me).
