SUPER ENERGY FARINA
The Democratic Republic Congo is highly affected by the malnutrition of children and pregnant women. According to the WFP almost one over two children suffers from chronic malnutrition. regarding this matter us, Food For Life team decided to focus on children and then created SUPER ENERGY FARINA to address the problem. Moreover we are creating not only new jobs for the youth but also participating in the country's economic growth by paying taxes. In addition, we are working closely with local farmers to get bio raw materials.
The malnutrition of children and pregnant women is really an issue in DRC and so many other countries in the world. UN organizations are trying to handle the issue but they have not yet covered the whole country. Children are the most affected.
SUPER ENERGY FARINA is used for porridge and it obtains in two steps, the first is milling and peeling grains of maize, wheat, soya, sorghum and rice. Followed by the mixture of these cereal flowers added with some sugar. Proteins that contain in SUPER ENERGY FARINA are essential for sustainable growth of children.
Food For Life is located in DRC, Bukavu province. Our direct customers are parents and some adults but we focused more on children as end users of the product. At Food For Life we believe that children are leaders, doctors, engineers and change makers of tomorrow so if we care about them today their future will be well directed but if we leave the problem unaddressed, consequences will be horrible.
- Support small-scale producers with access to inputs, capital, and knowledge to improve yields while sustaining productivity of land and seas
Entrepreneurship is more about chasing opportunities. We observed and analyzed the problem and then we decided to work on it. After seeing that there was no company trying to solve the same problem. Instead of importing the product from outside the country now it's possible to get the same product produced locally.
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model
- A new application of an existing technology
As one of the vulnerables of the malnutrition, I know exactly how it is hard and how being poor can affect someone's life. Our solution is simple but it has enough impact on children lives. What makes us unique is that we have a dedicated team that works hard to improve the quality of the product, we also letting parents getting involved in the production process. Moreover we have a delivery service that allows customers to save their time by just making an order. Furthermore there is no company producing the same product in our province.
As I said before, the solution is easy. So the technology that we are also using is easy. The process of getting the used product consists of: Milling and peeling gains of cereals in a machine then we get powder or flowers, we mixture it and we add sugar in addition in the coming months we will be adding vegetable Parfums to attract more consumers.

Food For Life is a branch of CTA ( Centre des Technologies Appliquées au sud-kivu) For For Life is more based on agriculture. Legal patents will come after.

Due to limited resources, actually we are producing less than 50kg per day. But according to our business plan, once we get fund we will be able to produce in the first year 62,400 kg. Notice that we are selling a box of 1kg what represents one customer. In five years we are planning to produce 998,400kg then to reach 998,400 customers in order to reduce the malnutrition of children
Our goal in the first year is to overcome to the problem of children what is malnutrition, moreover running the business so to attract more customers finally create jobs for the youth. In five years we want to expand our businesses in the entire country and in the neighborhood, then provide a service of quality to our customers in order to tackle the malnutrition issues. As we are growing we must assist local farmers so they will be motivated enough to produce more because they know where to sale their products
The government taxes are barriers that we are facing, also the competitors, we are competing with wholesalers who import the simular product from outside and they have enough money than us. Our package is not really attractive.
As we are growing up, we are in the obligation to improve the production process otherwise we will lose. Regarding competitors, they just import product but we have a competitive advantage on them, we are offering the freshly bio harvested product to our clients and our package is degradable. Moreover we have the delivery service what after delivering they collect information from customers about how they appreciate our product and the service that goes with and they tell us how they would like us to satisfy their needs the next time. Regarding the government we are planning to see members of the government they promised to promote the entrepreneurship in the country and then giving so advantages for startups
- For-profit, including B-Corp or similar models

Parents are our direct customers because they are the ones who provide the feed for their children and they are the most involved, followed by the retail chains and the delivery agencies.
Our organization is combining both the demographic segment because of the income revenue of our customers and the geographic segment because of the place where they are located.
