I am working to solve Challenges facing Sustainable Food Systems in rural communities in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria by revamping the palm industry which is the most lucrative business with good returns on investment in the region. Currently in Akwa Ibom State, over 1000smallholder-palm oil dealers are struggling to feeds their families. Unlike before the discovery of crude oil in Nigeria in 1956, smallholder palm oil dealers benefited much from the palm-oil manufacturing business, making billions of Naira because the Federal Government played important roles in providing the required assistance, but today, the reverse is the case. The attentions of the Government of Nigeria are now focusing on extraction and sales of crude oil leaving ones economic booming industry to wallow in serious dilapidation.
Smallholder-palm-oil-dealers are now left alone to stumble in cultivating low yield varieties of oil-palm trees with inadequate technologies, finances, as well as facilities to handle commercial manufacturing of palm oil to meet with the market demands in Nigeria and global. These open a wider supply and demand gap leading to huge importation of palm oil in Nigeria which would have been produce locally as before, thus leaving the smallholder-palm-oil-dealers to wallow in severe poverty and hunger.
Our solution is commercial palm oil processing. This embodied expansion of our current palm oil factory by replacing our current machines with High-Tech Modern-Commercial-Palm-Oil Processing Machines which are more efficient in commercial palm oil production, select 1000smallholder-palm-oil-dealers in Akwa Ibom State in gradual process, provide free training, and improved seedlings; assist in cultivation and support to purchase/harvest Fresh-Fruit-Bunches(FFBs) in large quantities to use the expanded modern commercial palm oil facilities to manufacture palm oil, palm kernel oil, kernel cake (Sludge) and shell in commercial quantities to meet with the market demands; package and brand the manufactured household consumable edible oil and provide a comprehensive marketing processes for profit maximizations.
This will help in generating more incomes and create 10,000additional jobs to tackle high unemployment rate and poverty in Nigeria and to increase the supply of palm oil to our local markets.
Premium Palm Mill was established in 2014 to carry out legal palm oil production in Nigeria and we have gained good market tractions over the years for our quality edible oil manufacturing. Having a customer’s base of over 200palm oil exporters who rapidly off-take the manufactured products irrespective of quantity and even booked and pay in advance for more.
We are targeting over 1000 Smallholder Palm Oil Dealers in rural communities in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria that are struggling in palm oil manufacturing business with the use outdated technology, inadequate capital and crude implements to manufacture palm oil to feed their families.
We are currently operating a comprehensive commercial palm oil manufacturing and supplies business in the affected communities by purchasing Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFBs) from individuals, the local markets as well as harvesting from the leased plantations.
We are engaging the smallholder palm oil dealers in a gradual processes due to our factory capacity by allowing access to use our commercial modern machines to process their Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFBs) in commercial quantities and providing strategic marketing processes that foster profit maximization; as we are working on expansion of our factory to accommodate the targeted 1000 smallholder palm oil dealers with installation of High Tech Modern Palm Oil Processing Machines.
Our free training, supply of improved seedlings, supports and High Tech Modern Palm Processing Machines will address inadequate technologies, low yield palm, poor processing and storage facilities as well as inadequate capital and government negligence and will generate 10,000 additional jobs to reduce-poverty to 15% minimal before 2025.

Commercial Palm oil processing is a lucrative business with good returns on investment that exists for decades in Nigeria with lots of competitors; which are:
(1) Okomu Oil Company Plc, Okomu Udo, P.M.B 1449, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria established in 1976 as a Federal Government pilot-project aimed at rehabilitating oil palm production in Nigeria.
(2) Presco is a public limited liability company incorporated on September 24, 1991. Its corporate head office at Obaretin Estate, Benin City. Presco holds Obaretin Estate of 6,462 hectares and Ologbo Estate of 12,560 hectares, both in Edo State, and Cowan Estate, of 2,800 hectares in Delta State. Also Sakponba Estate in Edo State of 17,000 hectares. But the market demands for palm oil in Nigeria and global are yet to meet.
(3) Local Palm Oil producers that produce palm oil in smaller quantities with the use of primitive tools in rural communities in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
We break-in the competitive edge and stand at advantage over our competitors through the use of modern technologies and machines in our production processes thus making the manufacturing more adventitious with low cost structure to targeted 1000 smallholder-Palm-Oil dealers in Akwa Ibom State and providing free training and supports to purchase Fresh fruit Bunches and cultivation of additional 500hectares of improved palm seedlings for the foreseeable future; as well as our quality production, timely delivery and good customer relationships set us high above our competitors, making our products highly demanding and business need satisfying, thus fostering profitability.
Currently, we are using modern palm oil processing machines in our palm oil manufacturing factory in which we intend to expand to a modern High-Tech Palm Oil processing Machines with low greenhouse emission which is a modern technological machines fostering high productivity and efficiency in modern commercial palm oil manufacturing business ranging from fresh fruit bunches receptor, automatic cookers, rotary beater arm fruit bunch thresher, conventional rotary arm digester, automatic presser, static decanter to separate oil from sludge, conveyors to reduce manual handling, and a vibrating filter to reduce solids entering the decanters and large storage tanks for products preservation.
All these machines are Automatic Electric Powered Machines that will be running on 35-50KVA power consumption rating making production easier, faster, neat, providing good quality controls, reducing workers overtime which would have lead to high overhead cost, and also reducing factory overcrowding and will be providing a 21stcentury palm oil manufacturing services to the targeted 1000smallholder-palm-oil-dealers in Akwa-Ibom State in commercial quantities at low cost.
The machines will be imported from Henan Doing Mechanical Equipment Co,. Ltd, headquartered in China by their Lagos State branch office in Nigeria in-which we have received their costing including transportation and installation cost with standby trained Nigerian technical personnel.
The machine operators are locally available, with little training and supervisions, they will perform excellently and efficiently.
We will also brand and package the household consumable edible oil in sachets and kegs, develop web-store and mobile phone apps to connect with the wider markets.
Our business is an existing business with the use of these latest technology and machines in commercial palm oil manufacturing which make our production easier, faster, neat, providing good quality controls and reducing workers overtime.
I started the commercial palm oil production in Ikot Ada Idem, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria as an inherited business and develop into corporate organization “Premium Palm Mill” because of passion, zeal and experiences.

Having a customer’s base of over 200palm oil exporters who rapidly off-take the manufactured products irrespective of quantity and even booked and pay in advance for more.
The business is a lucrative business with good return on investment. The demand for palm oil and its by-products are high in our local market; the demand for it is all year round. Due to the high demand, buyers sometimes book for the products on cash and carry basis. Sometimes, buyers even pay in advance in order to secure products.
Our modern machines which foster quality production, low-cost-structure, timely-delivery and good-customers’-relationships set us high above our competitors, making our products highly demanding and business need satisfying; rapidly-gaining-market-momentum, thus fostering-profit-maximization.
