Scale up Rice Production Technologies
Rice is the staple food of Bangladesh. The country with 180 million people needs a huge quantity of rice. Millions of acres of lands are being cultivated rice in water logged condition. The water logged rice field produces huge quantity of methane which is one of the important green house gas. The farmers do not have knowledge on proper management of water, as a result they keep the rice field fill with water. Irrigation cost lot. Again to produce the power to run water pump emits green house gas.
Again, farmers use insecticides to keep insects from rice field. The production of insecticide produce green house gas and harmful for human health.
The farmers use urea fertilizer to cultivate rice. Without having proper knowledge on proper use of fertilizer the farmers overuse urea fertilizer. Again the power uses to produce urea emits green house gas.
The proposed initiative will solve the 3 above-mentioned problems:
(a) Promote use of proper management of irrigation through Alternative Wet Dyeing (AWD) technologies; promote less use of insecticide through promotion of use of Parching technologies and promote proper use /less use of urea fertilizer through use of Guti urea technology.
Alternative Wet Dyeing (AWD) technologies: If the farmers follow the AWD technologies it will reduce methane emission.
Parching technologies: the parching technologies will invite more birds in the rice fields who will eat the harmful insects.
Guti urea technology.: Use of the technology will promote proper as well as less use of urea fertilizer.
The three technologies include: (a) Alternative Wet Dyeing (AWD), (b) Parching and (c) Guti Urea.

The solution will have great impact on the lives of the millions of farmers of Bangladesh. Again it will contribute to reduce green house gases to save the plant. - Support small-scale producers with access to inputs, capital, and knowledge to improve yields while sustaining productivity of land and seas
The project will be implemented with 200 farmers in Kamarkhanda Upazila of Sirajganj district in Bangladesh. National Development Programme (NDP) is implementing various agricultural projects to improve the life and livelihoods of the small and marginal farmers in its working area. Transfer of modern technologies on agricultural fields is one of the important area of NDP's work. We have been engaged in the field and testing these technologies. The three proposed technologies: (a) Alternative Wet Dyeing (AWD), (b) Parching and (c) Guti Urea will work in aligned with needs of the stakeholders as well as SOLVE objectives.
- Pilot: An organization deploying a tested product, service, or business model in at least one community
- A new application of an existing technology
The technologies are very simple but have clear and important effects of the food production, reducing production cost significantly and most importantly it will have significant impact on reduction of green house gases.

We have already tested at the filed level.

We are already working with the National Development Programme (NDP) a national non profit NGO in Bangladesh. We may need help of Bangladesh Agricultural University.
