Aiki Nigeria
- Pre-Seed
Aiki is an employ-ability portal which bridges the gap for job seekers, entrepreneurs, artisans and school leavers by providing network of accessible opportunities from various businesses, companies and other organizations. Our aim is to reduce unemployment in Nigeria, particularly among young Nigerian's between the ages of 15 to 35-year.
Aiki.ng is a web based job and training resource centre that aims to provide a guide for young Africans in the area of career planning, skill acquisition, entrepreneurship development, Job sourcing and small business sustainability. The objective is to create a better informed and empowered citizenry across Africa; particularly among the youth people.
In addition aiki.ng is designed to be a platform where young people can build networks and connect for development at a continental level. It is also an employ-ability portal which seeks to bridge the gap for job seekers, entrepreneurs, artisans and school leavers by providing network of accessible opportunities from various openings.
Employ-ability is a set of skills, knowledge and personal attributes that make an individual more likely to secure and be successful in their chosen occupation(s) while benefiting the workforce, the community and the economy of a Nation.
Increasingly, employers are demanding skills from graduates which are outside the subject area of their course of study in Higher Education. Indeed, some employers have placed less importance on graduates’ actual degree discipline in favour of the more generic skills which they have acquired: Employers generally see a graduate’s achievements related to the subject discipline as necessary but not sufficient for them to be recruited. In some employment contexts the actual subject discipline may be relatively unimportant. Achievements outside the boundaries of the discipline (such as the possession of so-called ‘soft skills’) are generally considered to be important in the recruitment of graduates.
Significantly, extra curricular activities such as work experience, volunteering and involvement in clubs and societies are seen as having equal importance in this context as the knowledge and experience acquired through academic stud, this is the gap AIki.ng is currently bridging.
The distressing rise of the unemployment rate in Nigeria which has resulted to the high percentage of unemployment from 21.1 per cent to 23.9 per cent, particularly among young Nigeria's from 15 to 35-year olds that constitute 60 per cent of Nigeria's population. Apart from unemployment, the low education outcomes with considerable dropout rate of between 12 per cent 15 per cent despite Universal Basic Education (UBEC) is also alarming. Therefore, Aiki an employability portal bridge the gap for job seekers, entrepreneurs, artisans and school leavers by providing network of accessible opportunities through the platforms
With the help of Aiki.ng, we will be able to further bridge the gap for job seekers, entrepreneurs, artisans, and school leavers by providing network of accessible opportunities from various businesses, companies and organizations.
Currently, we have over 800 skill development and diploma certified courses on the portal which ranges from Basic Science, Business Skills, Coding Courses, Digital Literacy, English Language skills, Entrepreneurial Skills, General Diplomas but to mention a few. Currently, some of the factors limiting the ability of our solution to succeed are:
1. Financial constraint.

The rationale behind Aiki.ng applying to Solve borders largely on our need to create a platform where job seekers or knowledge seekers as a whole can log on to, access information , gain skills they might lack to help increase their productivity, and improve their employability.
At Solve, the focus lies majorly on creating an ecosystem where knowledge is the currency, knowledge acquired through a community of subject matter experts who are willing to help train, educate and mentor people.
