Ecosystem of Necessities Greenhouse

I am committed to solving easy access to nutritiously complete food choices, food as medicine options, etc. at the family level. I propose providing a 4-season passive solar greenhouse for all climates. An integrated clean energy and fuel production and storage system, primarily harvested from the family's food, garden and human waste, also significantly reduces those costs.

Applied globally, this easy access to healthy basic necessities reduces the worst forms of: Stress, illness, poverty, pollution, etc. The guarantee of easy access to thrival necessities to everyone, is by far, the most effective deterrent to crimes, wars and most other forms of conflicts. The problem that I am working to solve is "Support small-scale producers with access to inputs, capital, and knowledge to improve yields while sustaining productivity of land and seas". Developing a robust greenhouse which enables any family of four to reliably regenerate all of the necessities required for them to thrive will solve a great many problem that are coming due to the current global COVID-19 pandemic. The numbers to your three questions are growing alarmingly day-by-day.

The EON Greenhouse is currently a mix of existing and proven technologies and techniques which only need to be combined in a new way, thus perfecting a single-family version, is within easy reach of our current economical and technological capabilities. Once perfected, fully-automating their mass production will significantly reduce their cost. The anticipated money that society could save from all of these benefits could be applied retroactively by government subsidies to make them quasi-free for all of its citizens.

My target population is all families - the smallest unit of any society. We need to perfect the small, modular,  family-scale version, first. Then it can either be scaled up or mass-produced to meet any scale needed.

Food, water, medicine, etc. scarcity are increasing daily due to overpopulation, the next great depression caused the pandemic, etc. This solution actually solves all of the dimensions mentioned.

The EON Greenhouse is an all-in-one solution to global overpopulation, pollution, poverty, pandemics and their associated conflicts. It reduces the domed city and its interrelated systems down to a simpler and more manageable scale, so that it can transform most homes into a self-sufficient oasis for humans. How? It integrates municipal housing infrastructure systems like; clean power production, pollution control, food production, water works and sewage treatment; making the external and costly versions unnecessary and obsolete.

Reducing the domed city concept and its interrelated systems down to this scale makes sense economically, for simplicity, for safety and for many other reasons. EON Greenhouses can be stand-alone or attached to the roofs and/or sun-side walls of conventional homes. Once mastered, their production can be fully-automated to make the creation of ecologically-responsible towns, cities, domed cities, space settlements/colonies, starships, etc.; much less expensive and complex. The end goal is to develop portable, all-inclusive, and self-sufficient human habitats of all shapes and sizes where humans can responsibly thrive, here on Earth or, that we can pack up and bring with us to use off-planet.

This pandemic is yet another example it is unwise for humans to keep all of their eggs in one basket - the Earth. We must start to focus our efforts on expanding throughout our solar system and beyond. Once perfected and attached to a portable house which has been adapted for the EON Greenhouse, the combination becomes what I call the Scalable, Portable, Automatable, Closable Ecosystem (SPACE) House. Growing a few cubic meters of seaweed, in addition to the other plants in the greenhouse, will produce abundant clean air for a family of four. This makes it possible for a closable dome to be placed over the SPACE House with now adverse effects to the family for extended periods of time. A town, city, etc. with compatible vehicles could all be placed inside these domes with similar results.

The key is to start small to make the logistics of perfecting it easier and safer.

My solution currently serves no one as it has not been made into reality. Hopefully one or more like-minded visionaries, who have the necessary connections and resources, will make it into a reality. Once perfected, mass produced and subsidized by public and private organizations making them free, they will be available to everyone, everywhere.

My goal within the next year is to convince at least one organization to prototype and test this idea.

My goal for the next five years is to perfect it and begin mass production.

The barriers are access to money, relevant experts and the aforementioned technologies.

I am sending this solution to as many contests as I can find with the hope of convincing at least one organization to prototype and test this idea.
