Rural Farmers Empowerment

The enterprise is centered around imminent challenges that has been facing the rural farmers  for so long, these problems ranges from poor farming equipment's, low farming produce, poor quality of agricultural produce, and poverty.  The enterprise will integrate primitive farming methods into modern agriculture by replacing all those crude equipment's use for farming with modern equipment's, farmers will be encourage to carry out large scale farming as they will be supported in all ramifications, farmers will be educated and encouraged to use improve varieties as to enhance better quality of farm produce, at the course of improving these set of problem, poverty is alleviated as well and they will be able to pay and sponsor their ward in schools and contribute majorly into the societies     

Creating awareness is mostly difficult in rural areas, not to even mention adoption of new or a different way of practice, as many still hold up with different opinion and primitive practices in a previous study result has shown that in taraba state Nigeria, food insecurity was about 76% as it has clearly shown low productivity secondary to lack of maximal awareness, virtually this catastrophic incidence is in tandem with the enterprise decision to go rural where the farmers will be educated and be supervised occasionally. this particular problem and exact solution have not been mention lately around the globe.  

The enterprise will be situated in the heart of the community as a potent measure to know, ascertain and supervised  every processes that the farmers will be engaged in, it is indeed a process of work with the farmers procedure as the enterprise will designate an expert with diverse and flexible skills to oversee the activities and discus with the farmers at their various farms. It open doors for immediate biofeedback, strengthen the relationship and commitment towards adoption of new innovation in farming sector subsequently. in other to achieve these goal all farmers will be kept in touch via cell phones as the enterprise discus further on problems and solutions with the farmers as they arise 

The enterprise is focus on the financially feeble communities, more especially those who hardly can afford their meal a day, those who can not afford to pay their children's school fees and those who live on less than a dollar per day. the enterprise targets those farmers with family and the Youths that are base in the rural area with passion and commitment towards farming. I visits them almost every now and then, and as such times we usually have a deep and long conversations, where needed talk to them on some certain situations where it benefits them or i invite a professional to intervene, these measures are taken to improve their product as to increase financial income at the end of it all poverty is been alleviated.

Mostly the rural communities remain  unaware and unable to access opportunities, modern agricultural processes that are seldom available therefore the enterprise is tailored to the farmers with the mentioned challenges to  support the farmers with access to inputs such as modern agricultural tools,  knowledge to improve yields while sustaining qualitative products as well as productivity of land while poverty is alleviated

The enterprise is like any other business enterprise located in the urban community, except that the innovative aspect of this enterprise is its

1.  location which is at the heart of the rural community and more so it is delivered to the rural farmers at their locality.
2.  also its outstanding and unique services that is tailored to the farmers more especially those farmers living in abject poverty that still uses crude and primitive farming skills.
3. the enterprise offers more knowledge and insight not only on the services that it provides, but also on relevant and imperative education on modern agriculture which is not found even in the urban communities readily.

these enterprise is directly centered in the heart of the rural community in order to facilitate and equipped the farmers as well as to alleviate them of the  poverty that have eaten deep and hard in their respective community which has rendered many youths school drop out, jobless and many household hungry and malnourished 

The redefining technology behind the enterprise is the distribution and application of improved seed variety as well as modern farm equipment's. this method  include improved, locally adapted varieties of maize, cassava, millet, rice, sorghum, beans, sweet potato, cowpea, groundnut, soybean, pigeon pea, sweet potato, banana, and many more. the equipment's ranges from application of harvester, fertilizers pesticides plow tractors, sprinklers and many more. 

    For centuries, farmers in Africa have skillfully operated their own informal seed systems, they save seeds from one year’s crop for planting in the next and share seeds through community networks. Despite this impressive ingenuity, the performance of local varieties of maize, cassava, millet, and other African food staples now lags far behind the rest of the world because farmers in Africa are not producing enough food to sustain the continent’s rapidly growing population. The enterprise will use these technological method effectively in distributing both the equipment and knowledge equally.

The enterprise is in tandem with the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) which  was launched by the Rockefeller Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2006, its goal is to develop practical ways to improve production and income for the millions of smallholder farmers, the technology they used have tremendously yield extensive positive outcome in terms of crop production and as such many poor families whom were poverty stricken are now able to live above a dollar per day with a lot of promising success on the horizon, these were evident in Ethiopia, Ghana, Mali, Kenya, Malawi,Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Mozambique and Nigeria as developmental mile stone were set, but these is only a foundation for the Africans to follow suit to the climax. 

   Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) in most of these countries have identified each of its problem and has tailored the solutions accordingly, where improved seed variety were need they were provided as well as modern agricultural tools and facilities to alleviate poverty.

The enterprise will work hand in hand with the community by channeling a medium to educate, pass out information about modern agriculture inclined to the enterprise with concurrent supply of its products, it will further provide essential supervision where needed by the rural community farmers  in the process establish a well grounded relationship built on trust and fidelity that will trigger myriad productivity in terms of attitude, perception and agricultural outcome, it will over time in turn yield persistent and increased agricultural outcome as well as alleviating poverty and low level of community livelihood.

Currently if funded the enterprise will be serving about 3000 thousand individuals in the communities and in the next year this number will multiply in manifold, and in the subsequent years this number is expected to rise in hundreds of thousands,      

My goals within the next one year is to

1. perfect the services provided by the enterprise to the communities
2. educate and create awareness, with knowledge to change perception
3. establish a solid foundation for the enterprise built on trust and fidelity by the rural communities
4. provision of job opportunity for the communities
5. alleviation of poverty to a laser percentage

 In the  next five years we look forward to building the enterprise into company with the following goals

1. establishing more core centers in each community 
2. expanding the services to other rural communities that are not within the targeted localities 
3. alleviation of poverty at a maximal percentage 
4. creating a company that will manufacture all that the communities will require for its growth and sustainability  

Financial barrier is in the inability of the enterprise to secure funds in other to achieve its targeted goals this has crippled many firms that set out to make a difference across the globe. Technical barrier may occur where professional are not consulted where needed or the unprofessional application of equipment due to lack of or inadequate understanding of the technical know how by the farmers. Legal barriers may occur where set rules and regulations by the government are not properly obeyed or followed. Cultural barriers is often phenomenal with the rural dwellers as they held firm to their old and primitive agricultural method of farming. The market is not expected to make head way easily as some people might still be skeptical about change as they prefer to see before they believe   

The enterprise has taken measures to apply for funds from the SOLVE organization with the believe that the organization will equip the enterprise with the finance to carry out its rural empowerment project and the enterprise is also striving to provide for its self. Top professionals will always be consulted in order to carry out proper practices and proper supervision will be maintained with the farmers to ensure proper application of the equipment's. Rules and regulations set by any organization that is govern by the country and concerns the enterprise will be duly respected and obeyed at all cost as well as those set by the organization. The enterprise will educate and create proper awareness using the selected and educated individual the community held in highest regard to disseminate this new methods of agricultural practices. Efforts will be channeled to gain communal patronage via fraternizing and in the process advertising the enterprise, the enterprise will be situated at a strategic point where it can be accessible.     

The enterprise comprises of three(3) workers as full term staffs and over 20 individuals as part time staffs at the community level with the aim to make their appointment permanent and two consultant on agricultural activities inclined to the enterprise. 

The team is made up of educated individuals with diverse skills in human management, resources management, flexibility and creativity among others. Each individual was either brought up amidst the penury or saw it as it unfold in peoples live, the team is form out of shared desire to alleviate poverty at the rural community level, we have witness situations where children suffered from malnutrition, parents were not able to feed and send their children to school, the parents are not civil servant neither do they earn any salary of any sort, all they do is farming and even at that there is no proper yield that last long. We came up with this solution because we ascertain their problems better than any government would     

The enterprise provides genuine modern agricultural services remotely to the farmers in the rural communities in addition to updated educational and modern farming skills acquisition, poverty alleviation with profound equity in provision of services. The services provided are tailored to the farmers individually and collectively as well in their respective communities and if possible their farms, these services are provided via educating them on what, where and how to successfully apply or use modern agricultural facilities judiciously. Some rural communities considers this new alternative or approach as a succor from their seemingly unending poverty and lack of essential and myriad agricultural production, most still considers this as an opportunity to learn since they were not opportune to advance in their educational career while others may deem this as an opportunity to advance in their agricultural production  

In respect to the financial barrier mention earlier, as a major barrier among other hedges, the enterprise seeks funds from the SOLVE organization because it believes this is the part where this organisation will help the most. The SOLVE organisation have helped so many firm stood their ground and to today are making impact in the communities, therefore the enterprise believes that the Solve community will extend their ever philanthropic acts to the community through the enterprise   

The enterprise will be open to genuine partnership from any organisation who share the same aspiration, vision and mission with it, the enterprise seeks to maintain a healthy relationship and utmost respect  with any partners that their line of duty may seems to intertwined. The enterprise will always be looking forward to enhance the same privileged that the SOLVE organization will be extended to it with other organisation that are seeking opportunities to impact the society, with all sincerity the enterprise look forward in partnership with other organization or companies in transparency and fidelity where the common goal will be achieved to the zenith at the community level.      

The enterprise is open to any organisation, no matter how small or big it is they'll all be welcomed and accepted with their plans, prospects and innovation as it benefit the poor communities. The enterprise could partner with the MIT organization if possible to enhance its services, where they could offer their profound and diverse knowledge in the activities of the enterprise or  better still execute their project through the enterprise of which it will always be a honor in such  occasions, the enterprise believes in working with any organisation that they share the same goals as it believe in new idea to approach the unending problems that seems to be unsolvable in the poor rural communities.     

The enterprise is well inclusive to the refugees, more especially those in the communities that are internally displaced to get them the opportunity they longed for and as well deserves, if funded the enterprise will provide the refugee with the ability to automatically find their grounds and accommodate easily at the communities, with limitless opportunity to explore at the enterprise as they'll be treated with great care.    

The enterprise is solidly behind women innovation that is why it will be looking forward to employing  women in its organisation as it will with the men, the organisation respects women that's why they'll be part of decision making as they are integral part of the enterprise there will be no gender specific position as women  will be involve in everything that has to to with the enterprise   

The enterprise tend to use modern agricultural equipment  to empower the farmers in the poor rural communities, where improved seed varieties will be use along side innovative technologies that will alleviate and proliferate energy input and productivity. Use of technology in agricultural productivity is very paramount to making head way more especially in a fast growing population in the communities.
