Black Soldier Food Corps

We involve local society and stakeholders to collect food/organic waste from neighbourhood, market, hotel, restaurant, and industry. Then, we use food/organic waste as feed for black soldier fly larvae. We use this organism because it can convert organic waste very rapidly. Besides that, it can grow up very quickly that can be used as animal feed. After using food/organic waste as BSF (black soldier fly) feed, we use this pupae as animal feed such as poultry, livestock, and fisheries. Then we can produce food sustainably by the waste that we get around us freely. It can reduce animal production cost very significantly,  because almost 70% of animal production cost comes from its feed. By using black soldier fly as animal feed, our company can produce animal production such as poultry, livestock, and fisheries massively that will be sold as fresh or frozen food to the society with affordable price.

There are more than 1.3 billion tonnes of food waste is produced every year in the world. This amount can be used to feed more than 3 billion people, while there are more than 805 million people are starving. If this waste isn't managed then it will give impact to global warming. Food waste is responsible for 8% of GHG emission which six times more than global aviation sector. This amount is equal to 3.3 giga tonnes of gas emission is released. This food loss is also equal to $750 billion of food cost is loss.

This project can reduce organic waste existence which has big enough effect to our climate change because this waste will release methane with big amount. Then, we overcome this problem into opportunity as animal production that can we get almost freely. Then we can produce affordable food for many people.

Local community: they will get benefit from selling their waste to us to get more income for them. They will also get benefit because their environment will be cleaner than before.

Food sector (industry, restaurant, modern and traditional market): they will get benefit because they can handle their waste with us without make an environment impact.

Woman, elder, youth, and disable: By converting waste, our company provides fresh and processed food such as poultry, livestock, and fishery product. Then we need many people to handle and operate the company to produce food product massively. This project will provides job opportunity for them.

Low income society: From this project we can provide affordable food for many people include low income society. They can buy food to us with affordable price. We still get benefit from selling our products with low price because our input cost is very low and almost free.

By this project, we will be able to against global warming from food waste that is produced massively every year. Then, it will give benefit for our society, economic, and environment sustainably.
