With today's world many people are engaged with intense work schedules, demanding households among other responsibilities and this leaves no time for cooking healthy meals which is very bad to health. That is why we thought of ways that could facilitate people access home cooked meals regardless of their hectic schedules, So instead of providing ready meals we avail chefs who customize meals according to clients needs. Our solution(www.gocook.rw) is an online a web App that connects people to chefs who can cook for them anytime.
Our goal is to help people to eat healthy homemade meals at their comfort and to create an environment that is friendly to people with dietary needs, Tourists, Event planners and people with no cooking time or skills to eat meals that match their needs.
Eleven million deaths worldwide in 2017 were linked to people eating poor diets high in sugar, salt and processed meat that contributed to heart disease, cancer and diabetes, a global study found. This is mainly because many people are engaged with intense work schedules, demanding households among other responsibilities that leaves no time for cooking healthy homemade meals.

People tend to eat same food for almost a week and these are mostly unhealthy food such as pizza, pastries, cookies and cakes which are unhealthy if eaten in access. And that causes many health issues through which we lose a lot of people every single day.
Gocook helps people to request and get chefs who can cook for them anytime through a website called www.gocook.rw . This service is used by people who need professional cooks at their home/apartment, party, wedding, conference, Event or an other temporal occasion. these professional cooks/chefs help people in
Cooking and Menu planning : gocook chefs helps to promote financial planning because people can plan their meals ahead and by doing so they reduce food expenses.
Promoting Well being : professional cooks from gocook help people with specific dietary need to customize the menu to healthier food choices either recommended by doctors or for favorable dietary outcomes
Shopping and delivering: If you someone needs a chef but don't have what the chef will use to cook, we handle shopping, delivery and cooking.
Learning how to cook: since the service can be done at your house it's easy to learn cooking skills which helps in your daily life when making food choices.
Our solution serves different people such as People with dietary need where we help them to get someone who can cook for them what they want to eat or what their doctors recommended them to eat.
Tourists: we help tourists who come to Rwanda to eat local Rwanda food or their local home food without having to move from one place to another because most of the time they took to much time to find their local food restaurants and we made it easy for them to eat any food they like.
Busy professionals and Event Planners: these are people who have no time to cook or skills to cook. so we made it easy for them to do their work in comfort since they know they can request a chef to cook for them anytime.
We involved them at in all stages of development of this solution we talked to them about the idea, we took our first prototype to them for feedback, they told us what they really need and what they think of what we had by that time. we went back to show them the output with our website and they started using it.

If we can help people make choice regarding food, help them in cooking it, and teach them how to cook it, We have no doubt that sustainable diet will be safe, health and economically affordable yet leaving little to no impact on environment.

Our solution is innovative because customers can customize menu depending on their needs, plan meals ahead and they can learn cooking since all the cooking is done at client’s kitchen. We care for our clients so when they don't have basic kitchen utensils and equipment bring some of ours to make work more efficient. Again our clients don't have to worry about time for shopping because when they need it we handle the shopping and delivery.
We are the first to bring this on Rwandan market, all our competitors(such as VubaVuba) are in food delivery industry, Hotels and restaurants which also adds value to our uniqueness. Our solution is fast, convenient, and affordable.
Our solution is a web application developed with JavaScript
all technologies used in our website help us to perform different tasks such as people requesting chefs, chefs getting notified that there is a request, accepting or declining requests and getting notified when they finish perform an action.
Our website allows people to perform online payments using paypal and credit cards but also helps in paying offline using cash on delivery.

We have been on market since November last year and we have 3 clients per month but we want to serve 3 clients day which will lead to 1095 requests per year and we will be serving more than 4491 requests per year.
that is why we are doing everything we can to get investment that we can use in marketing, hiring more staff and buying some kitchen utensils to attract clients who want the service but don't have these kitchen equipments at home.
As a startup there are many barriers on the way but you have to keep the determination in order to achieve the goals you set.
Our main goals are:
- Getting at least 3 requests per day.
- Making Health home made meals more accessible.
- Having 40 chefs professional chefs ready to serve anytime. for now we gave 7 chefs.
- Providing flexible schedule to chefs and availing them anytime the clients needs them.
- Helping with dietary need to get A well-planned, nutritious diet should that meet their needs.
Financial
Limited funds: We have limited access to finance, which is making it hard to reach the most part of our target clients. we use founders contribution we can't do a lot with it. we need funds to market, cover employment costs among other responsibilities
Limited access to materials: Here I mean basic kitchen utensils that chefs can use in case the client doesn't have all the equipment needed to cook. for example client might need smoothie but lack the blender to make it so if we had the blender we can get it done in an instant at clients home
Technical
Limited staff: because we don't have enough money to cover employment costs we didn't hire enough staff. the founder do most all the work in the company but if we get a way to cover it can have more people in company and hire enough chefs.
Cultural or market barriers
Little knowledge: People are not used to this service in Rwanda, so we need to teach them and convince them to switch them form what they were using to using our service.
In our little budget we have managed to see that the need is real and the solution we are bringing is very important so they will definitely use it.
Limited funds: We are approaching different people who can help us to get investment, loan or any other support to keep the business grow these people include investors, banks, and accelerators.
Limited access to materials: We started buying some equipments using our capital(founders contribution).
Limited staff: We are hiring volunteers who might be interested in working with us but trust me it is not easy.
Little knowledge: In our little budget we have managed to talk to approach our potential clients who showed us the need is real and the solution we are bringing is very important so they will definitely use it.

We as the founders have bachelors degree in Business and Information Communication Technology with skills in software and web development
Nyinawumuntu Yvonne: Has bachelors degree in Business and Information Communication Technology From Mount Kenya University Rwanda campus. She worked as a software developer until 2019. She worked in different companies and institutions offering quality service delivery WASAC, Inepu Ltd and has been trained through 250Startups a multi partner incubation that helps startups to become investable. Yvonne developed a website that helped under privileged kids to get donations from different across the world.
Musafiri Ildephonse: Has bachelors degree in Business and Information Communication Technology He worked in different Government institutions as well as Non-Government institution offering quality service delivery. he has developed Smart agri big data system web application that is going to facilitate Government for monitoring daily what is going on under Farmers and creating a lot of activities that change many lives of African-citizen across the African continent but starting with Rwanda.
Our Head chef has 15 years experience working in kitchen. we believe that together with other team members, such as Accountant, Lawyer and Marketing manager we will achieve our goals.
We have no official partners yet but we have talked to Some training centers and other companies.

We take 30% commission on each transaction that happens on our platform and as we grow we will be advertising on our website.
