CircuLab Living
Aiming to improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations, especially women heads of families, and to increase the impact of Conexão Musas, the Empodera Institute proposes The main proposal is to consolidate an economy in (and of) the community (driven by women) and foster the ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship in the territories based on multilevel governance. We thus imagine CircuLab Living, a space - physical and virtual - where, with the collaboration between people and their talents, it generates a process of creation, prototyping, validation and testing for new economic solutions. It aims to generate a local economy through the leadership of women heads of households and their local networks and new technologies. It draws inspiration from the living labs Hossain et al (2018) and the Living Labs of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Leminen et al., 2017).
The Empodera Institute's proposal seeks to improve the lives of women in vulnerable situations by expanding the impact of Conexão Musas and giving visibility to the talents of women in their communities, giving focus and light to existing resources and relationships from the perspective of strengthening the bonds of affection and protection and sustainable development and the creative economy. With the creation and construction of a live traveling labmaker, it is proposed to articulate with potential communities / territories and to plan Creative Expeditions. In addition to promoting Creative Expeditions to the territories for participatory diagnosis and co-creation of local solutions. And finally, to provoke the adhesion and active participation of actors to a value chain for the generation of income and circular economy.
Relational Affective Map - Contacts and Connections with women and their communities:
Through the women of Conexão Musas we will be doing a survey of their communities and places where they live and getting to know their relationship networks. This mapping will generate a photograph and an affective and relational diagnosis which will offer us the possibilities to connect with other women and offer them through Muses the invitation to participate, with their peers and now multipliers, in the maker expeditions.
Creation and construction of a live traveling labmaker
This step consists of the acquisition and assembly of the vehicle that will be the mobile base of the project. For this, after the electrical, hydraulic and joinery project, a partnership will be held with the Centro Universitário Facens to develop the FabLab module project. After purchasing the equipment and installing it. The second moment will be the training of the team that will be operating the creation laboratory in the community. Training will be held at FabLab at the Facens University Center in Sorocaba for FabLab equipment and training will be carried out with the Conexão Musas team on the Immersive Work Methodology
Our solution serves women who live in environments of high economic and social vulnerability. In these spaces, the possibilities for participation in the formal economy are very limited, and illicit economies become a concrete option for communities abandoned by development policies. In urban areas with insufficient coverage of basic public services, such as health, education, access to justice, and where state management is fragile, criminal groups fill these gaps, offering alternative forms of government and expanding their interests. In this context there are also numerous violations of rights and violence, mainly against women. To improve the living conditions of these populations, it is necessary to generate sustainable ways of life that reduce their dependence on illicit economies. It is therefore essential to work towards generating satisfactory income for families, access to decent employment, the creation of value chains that transform the economy and the connection with the dynamics of local and regional economic development, to ensure consistent progress in improving the well-being of communities.
