E-LEARNING OUT-OF-SCHOOL GIRLS
Specifically,Lift Up Care Foundation is seeking support from your institution in three areas of the interventions aimed at ensuring that the Kogi State and FCT-Abuja Sub-urban communities are not left behind in the efforts towards achieving Universal Primary Education as espoused in the second goal of the SDGs. The three areas of interventions are as follows:
- Promoting girl child education through e-enrollment and e-learning in all the sub-urban communities in Kogi State and the Federal Capital Territory.
- Enrolment of out-of-school children and youths in all the sub-urban communities in Kogi State and the Federal Capital Territory.
Promoting education of children with Special needs in all the sub-urban communities in Kogi State and the Federal Capital Territory, both in Nigeria. .
Universal Primary Education as espoused in the second Goal of the Sustainable Development Goal s needs to be brought to all the communities in the Federation of Nigeria. Lift Up Care Foundation knows that UBEC has over the years been the torchbearer of Universal Basic Education in the country in tandem with the National Policy on Education (NPE 2004) section 3 which defines Basic Education as “Basic education shall be of 9 – year duration comprising 6 years of primary education and 3 years of junior secondary education which shall be free and compulsory and which shall also include adult and non-formal education programmes at primary and junior secondary education levels for adults and out of school youths”, and which should include adult literacy and non-formal education, skills acquisition programmes and the education of special groups such as nomads and migrants, girl-child and women, almajiri, street children and disabled groups”, according to the Universal Basic Education Act 2004.
For certain peculiarities in the Kogi State and FCT-Abuja, especially in the rural areas, many girls and young women are excluded.
This project is meant to use the GSM to catch and enrol many of such girls and young women.
- Advocacy and community mobilization in all Kogi State and FCT-Abuja Sub-urban communities on importance of girl child education through e-enrollment and e-learning.
- Printing and dissemination of Posters on importance of girl child education through e-enrollment and e-learning in Kogi State and FCT-Abuja Sub-urban communities.
- Enrolment and ensuring attendance of the girl child in school at the primary and secondary school levels in Kogi State and FCT-Abuja Sub-urban communities.
- Selecting and training adult supervisors for girl child education through e-enrollment and e-learning in Kogi State and FCT-Abuja Sub-urban communities.
- Provision of sources of potable water, sanitation facilities, toilets in Lift Up Care Foundation and Public schools in Kogi State and FCT-Abuja Sub-urban communities.
- Provision of books to girls in support of the girl child education through e-enrollment and e-learning in Kogi State and FCT-Abuja Sub-urban communities.
- Advocacy and community mobilization in all Kogi State and FCT-Abuja Sub-urban communities on importance of out-of-school-children are enrolled or re-enrolled in schools under the Universal Basic Education programme.
- Printing and dissemination of Posters on importance of enrolling or re-enrolling out-of-school-children in schools under the Universal Basic Education programme.
- The girl child in the Kogi State and FCT-Abuja Sub-urban communities fully participates in the Universal Basic education in a manner that confers appropriate levels of literacy, numeracy, communication, manipulative and life skills that makes her able to further her education or employable, useful to himself/herself and the society at large by possessing relevant ethical, moral and civic values.
- The out-of-school-children in the Kogi State and FCT-Abuja Sub-urban communities fully participates in the Universal Basic education in a manner that confers appropriate levels of literacy, numeracy, communication, manipulative and life skills that makes her able to further her education or employable, useful to himself/herself and the society at large by possessing relevant ethical, moral and civic values.
- The Sub-urban girls and young women in the Kogi State and FCT-Abuja Sub-urban communities fully participates in the Universal Basic education in a manner that confers appropriate levels of literacy, numeracy, communication, manipulative and life skills that makes her able to further her education or employable, useful to himself/herself and the society at large by possessing relevant ethical, moral and civic values.
- Increase the number of girls and young women participating in formal and informal learning and training
In ensuring that Universal Primary Education is brought to the domains in the sub-urban communities in Kogi State and the Federal Capital Territory, Lift Up Care Foundation has set out in certain areas of interventions such as: Building schools in some Main and adjoining communities where there is none within the reach of children of Families in the communities in the northern parts of the country; renovating some Public schools that are in a state of disrepair, including provision of safe water and sanitation facilities in schools that lack such.

E-enrollment and e-learning for girls and women will help achieve many of the SDGs, namely:

The GSM and the internet. Other conventional means of communication will also be deployed.
Over seventy percent of Nigerians, including the out-of-school girls, have GSM.

To ensure that the girl child in the Kogi State and FCT-Abuja Sub-urban communities and the out-of-school-children in the Kogi State and FCT-Abuja Sub-urban communities in the Kogi State and FCT-Abuja Sub-urban communities are all involved in the efforts towards ensuring unfettered access to nine years of formal basic education as well as reduce the incidence of drop-out from the formal school system through improved relevance and efficiency through acquisition of appropriate levels of literacy, numeracy and manipulative communicative and life-skills, as well as the ethical, moral and civic values needed for the solid foundation for life-long learning.

Lift Up Care Foundation is a government registered non-governmental organization working in Nigeria to lift up the needy, helpless, disadvantaged and hard-to reach populations from various challenges associated with poverty, ill-health, want, deprivations, unemployment, etc. Lift Up Care Foundation was registered in the year 2006.
The mission of the organization is to reach out in support to the physically-challenged child, women/youth, and the less privileged in rural communities. We seek to support them in actualizing self-dependence and empowering their potentials through the acquisition of quality education, vocational skills and most importantly attaining good healthy living. The vision is making the physically-challenged, children, women and the less privileged in the community a happier and healthier self reliant person.
Aims and Objectives
- Empowerment of children with physical disabilities and the less privileged in the rural areas through quality education and vocational training.
- Provision of mobility aids to physically challenged children.
- Establishment of vocational skill acquisition centres and granting scholarship to the physically challenged children.
- Execute Public health Programes through Child/Mother survival approach
- To organize health lectures/seminars, symposia, workshop conferences and other information for the enlightenment of the youth and women in the grass root on issues such as HIV/AIDS, cancer, diabetes, hypertension, preventable blindness,provison of water/Sanitation, Malaria eredication etc.
- To eradicate social vices among the youth/women and child abuse
- Provide an avenue for the promotion of socio–economic empowerment through / income generating programs for the rural dwellers.
