Achieving gender equality by 2030 is one of the ambitious goals of the UN member states.
The speakers expressed the view that specific steps should be taken to identify the problems and possibilities in the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action and the Sido Declaration on the advancement of women. This was stated by the speakers at a preparatory meeting at the Sonargaon Hotel in the capital today jointly organized by UN Women Bangladesh and the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs on the occasion of the 63rd meeting of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) to be held in New York from 11 to 22 March 2019. The 73rd CSW Meeting will focus on Social Protection Systems, Access to Public Services and Sustainable Infrastructure for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women and Girls. In this case, the progress report of Bangladesh has to be submitted.
As the country moves forward with the joint efforts of men and women, the contribution of women in the development of the country will increase, so will the empowerment of women in various spheres of the state. Therefore, there is no alternative to education for women's empowerment.
