In a fast changing digital driven global economy, unemployment continues to beleaguer the youth in Africa. The hope to this perennial problem is educating and developing digital entrepreneurship skills for the youth especially in higher education institutions. Without proper access to a laptop, the majority of the students in this higher education institutions are disengaged from this modern academic experience. Access to knowledge, skills such as programming, tools and inspiration is blocked by the costs of purchase. This means that the ability of this students to develop digital entrepreneurship opportunities become increasingly limited.
With access to a laptop that you pay for as part of your fees in campus coupled by the digital entrepreneurship programs such as hackathons, access as well as digital skills becomes guaranteed for every student joining the university. This means that the students have more locus of control on determining their entrepreneurial journey after graduation.
- 20 universities are targeted in the phase 1 of the project
- 190,000 university students will benefit from the program to get access to a laptop and skill building tools.
- 4 startups in the each of the 20 Universities in Phase 1 - This will be done through hackathons.
- Distribution of the devices will be done through Cool4Skul ecosystem of current and potential partners
- Digital empowerment of the students provided with devices will be done through developed pre installed tools and apps.

Using our platform the students are able to acquire an affordable device that they pay for in installments and gets access to a digital entrepreneurship driven program.
