MINERVA E-learning for girls and women

I am committed to solving the problem of limited education among girls and women

The solution that am proposing is that a special Android phone to designed for E-learning all over the world for both primary and secondary school drop outs 

My solution can will increase the number of educated girls and women as well as reduce the number of girls drop out from schools. My solution also give women the chance to continue their education from where ever they stopped.   

The world currently suffers from the challenge of lower education rate for girls and women in almost every part of the world. This challenge can be traced to the way women are perceived in society.

Many societies especially the African and Indian society believe that boy and men will carry the family name. Hence the education of the boy child is promoted and enhanced. On the other education for girls and women are discouraged especially in poor families.

There some factor responsible for the drop out among girls and women from school include: Early marriage, Religious inclination, teenage pregnancy and Low aspiration. All these factors have lead to lower number of women in public offices and positions of authority. In many part of Africa today ladies can hardly pass through a university without sexual relationship with lecturer in exchange for marks and better grades. This practice has lingered in many African universities

A new to solve this problem is introduce E-learning in a customized from that caters specifically for girls and Women. I propose the manufacture of a custom made android phone. The phone will receive calls and have an E-learning application for the learner.

 The phone’s learning application should have list of all countries in the world grouped in sub-region. Each country has its specific syllabus or learning scheme in the application that suits the learner. All learners can narrow down to their various syllabus and topic of various subjects and continue from where they stopped, Example “Junior secondary school 1 “subject: History” Topic: The first world war. The application will contain teaching aids and lot of pictures to aid the learner that like pictures to assimilate. Quotes from politicians and public office holders during the period of the First World War should be included. At the end of the learning student should be able to sit for standard exams like WAEC, London GCE, GCE, GED USA, TOFEL, SAT at a computer based testing centre or other exam centres.

The same tech will be applicable to primary schools.

My solution serve girls that have dropped out from school for what ever reason and women who have lost hope of continuing their education.

Target of Project

Two years after the commencement of this project 50- 80 million girls and women worldwide will advance in the various levels of learning, knowledge and academic qualifications. The learning is designed to be flexible for nursing mothers, Working class ladies; young girls in both urban and rural areas reach their dreams.

My selected dimension is to increase number of girls and women getting formal and informal education.

It caters for girls and women all over the world and  its a minimal cost or no cost.

There very few  e-learning center in Africa and the ones that exist are costly and difficult to access. A few of my competitors are Life gate academy and Stella marris group of schools and they offer e-learning only because of the covid 19

Technology

The specification of the phone will be an android phone that makes calls with an E- learning application that contain all the above mentioned features, one camera and one sim card.

The application should be chatting ready between the learner and coordinator. The battery should be able to last 30 hours with full use. Playing of video shouldn’t be a problem as well as large memory of about 40 gigabytes. Most of the must be very durable because of possible abuse. The must not be adjustable for other uses to make it unattractive to pick pockets, thieves and armed robbers.

Its not such a new technology similar ones exist

Currently is serve about 40 people in the next year should serve about 20,000 and by the 3rd year with full funding 50 million all over world.

Assuming a learner restarts her education from grade/ Primary 4  as soon as she gets the phone she would click on region :West Africa, country: Nigeria. Then the Education System in Nigeria come out 6,6,3,4 comes up showing the learner current primary school syllabus and topics. Example: Subject; English all topics for grade 4 will appear on the screen like parts of speech like Nouns with a series of examples of nouns and how theses can be used in simple sentences. Also pictures of nouns will be included.

The phone should have 100 language selections like English, French, Spanish, Chinese, German, Russian, Latin, Yoruba, Hausa, Arabic and Swahili just to mention a few.  A language dictionary will be included in the application. Also the phone will offer facilities for language learners to better their chances in life.Every state capital will have a the main office for E- learning center  where the phone will be distributed, Learner will be assigned with learning coordinators, Learner will guided on how to use of the applications.The center will have a chief coordinator to oversee all activities of coordinators. Each coordinator must be an experienced teacher that has a wide range understanding in many subjects at Ordinary level. Each coordinator should be assigned 35 learners. The learner will guided basically through online lessons, Chats, calls, live or recorded video clips and online referrals for further studies. The main assignment of the coordinator is to see the learner hit their goal of passing the standard exams. 

Sustained donations and grants, selling of product and services, raising investment capital, or a combination of all.

If we cannot get grants the we sell product and services.

We need partner that will produce specifically the kind of android phone need  as well as the app.

Also distribution can be a small problem but with a partner it will be easier
