Female X-pression
in developing countries, the problem of limited sexual and reproductive education due to inaccessible schools, gender discrimination, poverty and beliefs is challenging for younger girls and women aged 15-19 years. Also, this problem results in poor health outcomes, over-population, and economic crisis.
With our goal to solve these problems, we proposed a solution using an app to empower young girls and educate them about sexual and reproductive health.
After implementation, this would inevitably lead to a decrease in WHOs 21 million estimated adolescent pregnancy to less than 10 million before 2030. Also, a reduction in health problems such as STDs and pregnancy and child complications in LMIC, with an increase in birth control and safe sex. Additionally, a reduction in the number of school dropouts due to early pregnancy, with an increase in the number of empowered girls, thereby boosting the income of females to $30 trillion
Every day, a female child becomes more vulnerable, with an increasing number of uneducated girls. Poor education influences early pregnancy, poor health outcomes and socioeconomic crises. LMIC accounts for the highest number of underage pregnancy, STDs and maternal mortality. These are closely associated with lack of sexual and reproductive education for girls aged 15-19 years. For instance, in a published Nigeria "demographics and health survey", an estimated 23% of young girls aged 15-19 years have begun childbearing. Also, Nigeria ranks 2nd with HIV/AIDs cases. Studies have shown that people with underlying diseases are at greater risks of COVID19.
According to WHO, every year an estimated 21 million girls aged 15-19 years in developing regions become pregnant and approximately 12 million of them give birth. Also, 777000 births occur to girls younger than 15 years in developing countries. Additionally, pregnancy and child complications are the leading cause of death among girls aged 15-19 years, with LMIC accounting for 99% of global maternal deaths. Adolescent pregnancy increases risks of eclampsia, puerperal, endometriosis, infections and unsafe abortion. Also, young girls are likely to contract STDs from unprotected sex. Hence, hindering the potentials of a female child and the socio-economic development of a nation
With our aim to solve these problems, we created Female X-pression which is fun, playful and educative gamification and messaging app that targets teenage girls, and provides basic information on female health and empowerment. Female X-pression provides a networking experience and an opportunity for teenage girls to chat with a therapist/counsellor. The app is user friendly and It uses AI and game coding languages.
Female X-pression provide solutions using features such as; Diary, game, therapy, chatbot and chatroom
- With the DIARY, girls can record their menstrual cycle and achievements, and also take notes.
- The GAMES consist of educational quizzes which stimulates learning using point-reward incentives. A highly engaged user is more likely to study harder in order to gain higher points and also contribute this knowledge in a classroom setting. Additionally, users get to watch educative videos via attached youtube links before taking the quizzes. Also, teenagers can dress-up their avatar before each quiz, and are rewarded with a new outfit and a certificate of accomplishment. Finally, the game has a health and skills section.
- The THERAPY section provides counselling, and a CHATBOT provides the same therapy in the absence of a human.
- CHATROOM serves as a networking platform.
The target population of Female X-pression are teenage girls aged 15-19 years. This is because, from our survey of online apps with the highest number of teenage users, we found that teenage girls are attracted to feminine games with dress-up options for their avatars. The gamification component of Female X-pression consists of this feature combined with educational quizzes about female sexual and reproductive health.
The demographics of Female X-pression would be towards the developing countries with high underage pregnancy, school dropouts, STDs and maternal mortality, as this would educate young girls on sex education and reduce the estimated WHOs 21 million teenage pregnancy, STDs and maternal mortality.
Before starting this project, we engaged young Nigerian girls in a webinar to gain their perspectives. Finally, we found that most teenage girls were in a relationship and a higher number was sexually active. They were keener to understand female health and relationships which wasn't taught at home or schools. And female X-pression provides an educative section for their needs. If Female X-pression is launched, we see an estimate of 1 million female users in less than one month, with an increase in the number of educated females.
- Increase the number of girls and young women participating in formal and informal learning and training
Female X-pression addresses the dimension of informal and formal learning, and learning barriers using a gamification context to provide knowledge about female health and recreational skills. According to David Gibson (2010), over 64% of grade K-12 students play online-based games regularly and over half of all teens are playing on any given day. Female X-pression provides a fun, playful and educative moment for girls using games, which serves as a stimulus to motivate learning, improve formal knowledge and a reflection of prior knowledge. Also, with its infographic component, uneducated girls would learn faster. Hence, improving female skills and health outcomes.
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model
- A new application of an existing technology
Female X-pression is unique in its components with a competitive advantage over rivals, as most quiz-based products online don't provide access to study materials. Female X-pression provides a link to educative videos via youtube platforms before accessing the games, and the quizzes aim at testing the users learning capability. Additionally, the quizzes have sections for Female health and skills such as fashion design, cooking and much more. This game would positively impact the teenage girls in LMIC due to the increasing number of adolescent pregnancy, STDs and maternal mortality in this region.
Another striking uniqueness of Female X-pression is the diary section. Certainly, every girl needs one, and this is used for tracking menstrual cycle, writing achievements and also taking notes after classes, and our competitors don't have this feature. Furthermore, Female X-pression provides fun learning, as some teenagers find learning to be difficult and boring. It makes learning fun by providing teenagers rewards for learning in the form of makeup/outfits and certificate of accomplishment. Every teenage girl wants a fashionable avatar. Also, the infographics provide easy learning for the uneducated, the chatroom serves as a platform to meet users and also form a team of gamers. Finally, it has a counselling section.
After launching Female X-pression, in less than one month, we see an estimated 200 users in LMIC, and by the end of the first fiscal year, we predict an extension to all countries as the best-rated product.
Female X-pression uses AI, programming languages, animation, custom-based and template-based UI design with a 2D layout. It uses platforms such as iOS, Android and progressive web app. The app is designed with a startup screen followed by a login and sign up screen.
Female X-pression has administrative features such as user management, content management and notification control. Also, it uses third-party services integration like social networks and location. Furthermore, database management of Female X-pression is a cloud-based database and this app will be secured with complete protection. It is programmed for offline access, chatting, activity feeds, search filters, ratings and reviews, and push notifications.
The app comprises of quizzes such as multiple-choice questions, matching and fill-in-the-blanks, and this is powered by a similar technology to that of kahoots app which uses coding such as Java, MySQL and HTML5. Female X-pression allows for multiple players and in-game messaging.
Additionally, the app uses a text-based AI chatbot to provide therapy, in the absence of a human therapist. The chatbot provides an automatic message and quick reply when in need.
The features of Female X-pression is widely used and acceptable because the quiz games use a similar technology as Kahoot app. The chat room has a similar structure as Mobile legend: bang bang game app. Also, Chatbots are widely used
- Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning
- Software and Mobile Applications
In developing countries, there's an increasing number of uneducated females compared to their male counterpart, and factors such as early pregnancy, poor health, inaccessible schools, poverty, gender inequality and culture influences this problem. Poor education is also associated with factors such as lack of motivation/purpose (reward), poor engaging contents and inability to read/understand, which is challenging for females aged 15-19 years. So, we proposed a solution using gamification and messaging app to teach and motivate females in developing countries.
According to Research by David Gibson (2010), over 64% of students in grade K-12 play online or electronic-based games regularly and over half of all teens are playing on any given day. Most teenagers are engaging with their mobile devices, so we devised a solution which attracts teenagers, and that's "games". Our solution is fun, educative and impactful. By accessing the health section of the game, the uneducated girls would have the knowledge of birth control and its importance, as well as STDs. Also, teenagers will be enlightened about non-STIs such as yeasts and they'll be counselled on relationships and mental health. Furthermore, they'll be educated about adolescent pregnancy and its health impacts coupled with problems in society. Female X-pression will impact the lives of millions of teenagers in developing countries, by reducing the number of adolescent pregnancy, maternal mortality, STDs, unsafe abortions and uneducated girls.
The basic skills components of Female X-pression will make teenagers a fashion designer, a technologist, a good cook, a good mother and a contributor to society, thereby increasing the economy of a nation. If you educate a woman, you educate a nation, because she extends this knowledge to her family and community.
For Female X-pression to have impacts across the underserved region, we plan on partnering with tech companies, NGOs and government bodies that target the well being of females, to provide a central computer in regions without accessible smartphones/ computer. Finally, Female X-pression would exert a behavioural change on teenagers through word-of-mouth, and also serve as stimuli for formal learning because girls engaged in educational activities are likely to contribute in a classroom setting.

Female X-pression is still at its prime stage of being launched on the market, but we have been working in Nigeria for 2 years using tech to provide easy learning for students preparing to write Waec and Jamb examination. Currently, we have impacted the lives of over 500 Nigerians.
If Female X-pression is launched by November 2020, we see a high number of teenagers aged 15-19 years using this app in developing countries before December 2020. In 2021 after launching this app, we see Female X-pression serving an estimate of 1.5 million teenage girls in several developing countries with major consumers at sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. This would positively impact the lives of teenagers through an increase in the number of educated females, reduction in adolescent pregnancy and maternal mortality, and a decrease in STDs and unsafe sex practices. Also, in 5 years by 2026, Female X-pression will be serving an estimated 10 million teenage girls around the world. The teenage girls in developed countries would use Female X-pression to acquire basic skills such as fashion design, cooking, baking and several more. Hence, Female X-pression will serve all social groups in years to come.
Prekeazu-Foundation is a non-profit organization, and our ultimate goal is to extend humanitarian services to the less privileged. In the course of rendering our services, we acknowledged the problem of education and its impact on teenage girls. So, we came up with an innovative solution to address this problem using Female X-pression.
We intend using our one-year goals as a bedrock to execute our long-term goals. Our one-year intervention plan involves;
1. Launching Female X-pression, so as to bring it to limelight in November 2020.
2. After launching this app, we plan to go for fundraising so as to make it free for about 500 teenage girls. In the year 2021, we foresee an estimated number of 1.5 million teenage girls using Female X-pression in several developing countries across south Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. This would cause a tremendous change in the learning process of these teenage girls thereby boosting the socio-economic value/status of these countries. The outcome/impact of our solution in these developing countries would further spark an interest in developed countries. This would cause the developed countries to adopt our innovation. In subsequent years, Female X-pression will be serving an estimated number of 10 million teenage girls across the globe.
According to our five years plan, Female X-pression will not only resolve sexual and reproductive health issues but also address compounding issues among the teenage girls in the world.
Our product doesn't have a technical and legal barrier that would/could hinder our objective of reaching out to teenage girls, because the technology and contents in Female X-pression are widely acceptable and appropriate for teenage girls aged 15-19 years. It might have a little cultural barrier because in certain regions some families believe that the female child shouldn't be educated. Also, our major barrier lies in the financial and marketing factors. As rightly said, Prekeazu-Foundation is a non-profit organization and was established two years ago with little or no funds in her pocket/account. As a non-profit organization, we had always relied solely on fundraising, hence our major or first threat for the first year would be the availability of the fund. Raising fund for a project like Female X-pression might be challenging. Even though Prekeazu Foundation has already foreseen to launch Female X-pression by November 2020, but this can be hindered from reaching out to the proposed estimated 500 teenage girls due to lack of financial aid. And if our free donation of Female X-pression is obstructed from reaching the actual figure of 500 teenage girls by November, then our estimation for 1.5 million teenage girls would/might not be achieved in the year 2021. Hence, disrupting the market distribution of this product
Prekeazu-Foundation sees barriers as an opportunity to unlock many doors. Nothing comes easy, that is why we are working earnestly towards the launching of Female X-pression, so we can liberate the teenage girls from inequity.
For the financial barriers, we plan on doing the following;
- Sending our business proposal to bodies with the same goal of achieving education for girls. We intend writing a letter of assistance to the Federal Government of Nigeria
- Creating awareness about our projects so that philanthropies can support this project
- Seeking funds from previous helpers, and also have a business deal with tech companies and Non-Governmental organizations within Nigeria.
- Send a memo and video of our product to the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), The Center for Reproductive Rights, Plan International and UN_SDGs.
- Getting a loan from Microfinance should in case any of the above mentioned fails, so we can have an alternative to stand on.
For the market barrier, we intend using a change of theory approach for any impending obstacles.
Finally, for the cultural barrier, we plan on tackling this problem through word-of-mouth and education. We plan on changing the perspective of those who believe in gender inequality.
With the aforementioned measures, we hope to tackle the various challenges that might pose threats to Female X-pression before and after launching. And we foresee a changing world come 2030.

Prekeazu Foundation has a partnership with an organization called Onelga Voice at Omoku, Nigeria. We have come across some philanthropist during our services. And we foresee having opportunities to partner with more NGOs
Prekeazu Foundation has a mission to use Female X-pression as a solution to address the challenges of girls and women aged 15-19 years in developing countries, such as poor education, poor health and economic crisis. Female X-pression is foreseen as the best product to address these problems because it has fun, playful and educative contents which entice teenage girls. These contents include animation, rewards (female outfits and certificates), diaries, educative quizzes about female health and basic skills, and finally guidance (therapist).
Female X-pression has a marketable advantage over rivals due to these features and teenagers are more likely to use this product to study for fun, and our target locations for Female X-pression are Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. After launching our products, we intend marketing them via social media influencers, Ads, Playstore and word-of-mouth.
Our second objective is to expand our market to teenagers across other regions and increase competition by introducing an innovative version of Female X-pression. Also, we plan to seek fundraising so as to make it free for about 500 teenage girls for the first year, so as to attract more users, and subsequently, users would need a premium subscription for some quizzes. For example, the basic skills quizzes which consists of fashion design, hairdressing and so much more, has a beginner, intermediate and expert level, and only the beginner stage would be accessible for free. In our first year, we see an estimate of 1.5 million users with enormous sales from subsequent years.
- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
We intend gaining grants from NGOs in Nigeria and outside Nigeria in order to fund the Female X-pression product. We'll achieve this by partnering with these bodies. Also, we intend sending memos to philanthropist and technological companies who seek to achieve sustainability before 2030. After getting grants to launch Female X-pression in the target locations, we aim to make this product for 500 female users so as to get more users in regions. In other to sustain the innovative features and impact of this product, we intend using premiums to unlock some stages of the game, as only the beginner stage will be accessible for all sections of the game. Finally, teenagers from developed regions would be charged before unlocking the therapy section of the app.
Prekeazu-Foundation is an organization for the vulnerable population, focused towards addressing as well as solving worlds' challenges. Since both foundations are passionate about redefining the world in order to make it a sustainable place, this is why Prekeazu-Foundation has deemed it fit to apply to Solve 2020 Challenge, because it is in line with what we believe. With SOLVE, we can drive a long lasting and transformational impact for the teenage girls across the globe, encompassing and expanding a global network of professional contacts in the form of partnership with the right private sector and or public sectors,NGOs, and extending to philanthropists. We believe in joint partnership, since no organization, sector or industry can solve these challenges alone, SOLVE can help to address our barriers in different ways possible. Through SOLVE, we can get to collaborate with organizations that would help massively to fund the launching of Female X-pression so that the estimated number of 500 teenage girls can get our app for free and with ease. These collaboration could come in the form of grants, funding raising, go fund me, or well known individuals who might want to invest in our solution.
SOLVE can help address the market barrier(s) by helping Prekeazu-Foundation to get organization that governs similar market so as to push sales. Through this joint partnership, we can push our solution through social media, Ads, playstore and finally through word-of- mouth. .
