LEARNING RESOURCE SERVER

We are eliminating barriers to learning through the use of an innovative approach "Learning Resource Server" which stores educationally resourceful materials inform of textbooks, tutorials, and lectures which can be accessed remotely offline. This may be done using bluetooth. The Learning Resource Server shall help solve the problem of inadequate learning institutions and Instructors that facilitate the learning especially for the girls, women and other vulnerable groups of individuals such as orphans. The Resource Server will also help in covering the gap of inadequate learning materials such as text books that are expensive to obtain and which on the other hand encourage deforestation which is not good for the Global in the Environmental approach. We believe that through increasing access to quality learning materials and resources, we shall break the poverty, promote decent jobs and economic growth, create peace and stability in communities as well as promoting a safe climate if this is scaled globally. In order to acquire the number of teachers required to train the growing population of young generations in the World may be difficult in the coming times and therefore we need to embrace a new system such as the Learning Resource Server.

Research and statistics in Africa show that about 90% of the girls and women lack access to quality education due to inadequate institutions and instructors to conduct the learning, those that have access to institutions do not have learning materials. This poses a great challenge to the future generation and workforce as millions of such graduate to independence without the necessary knowledge and skills which can be used to provide income to them. This accounts for the high levels of poverty, inequalities between the educated and uneducated, which leads to poor standards of living, and the miserable groups are prone to joining rebel societies thereby causing conflicts and wars which are undermine peace and security. In the conflict areas of Africa, it has been confirmed the high levels of poverty, instabilities and wars, social violence and inequalities, environmental degradation has been attributed mainly because of the ignorance and poor education systems. Therefore with providing access to learning materials, we hope for better and strong nations around Africa and the entire World at large. This shall also help reduce the costs of quality education and learning since the Learning Resource Server shall be a continuously re-usable device which is easily repaired compared to any other learning mechanism.

The solution is a Learning Resource Server. This stores about one hundred and fifty thousand (150,000) text books and about fifty thousand Learning Tutorials and these can be accessed remotely offline using Bluetooth since in Africa, all most all countries pay for Internet charges which are very expensive to afford given the high levels of poverty. This can connect more than seventy devices in a given setting. We hope that when the project is fully completed, at the end of every course, there shall be an assessment exam that one shall have to attempt in a given period of time and this shall attribute to an individual’s final grade given the program that one shall have subscribed to. Since it is a Digital Age and at least most Africans have gotten access to digital devices, we hope to make these services to be accessible remotely in all areas of Africa. We shall conduct special programs to enable increase to access for those that may not have digital devices through partnerships with the various governments. The technology used will be both big data and Artificial Intelligene to keep track of the individuals progress.

The solution is directed to serve the young and the youth but not limited to that, any one who is interested in obtaining knowledge through learning is catered for. Given the fact that Africa’s vulnerable group of young and youths is estimated to increase to about nine hundred and forty thousand million in 2050. If such are not well planned for, this may pose a great challenge not only to the Economies in Africa but also to the entire world. In addition, the ratio of females to male in such categories is 3:1.5 which implies that those that are to be affected more are the girls and women. Therefore if we provide quality education and skills to these categories of people, we shall not only solve the problems such as covering the education and learning gap, reducing poverty, reducing inequalities, promoting decent work and economic growth, promoting peace, security and social justice but also shall create a class of individuals that will be responsible in conserving and improving the environment which shall benefit the entire Globe at large. Such shall address SDG13 of Climate Action which is entirely the responsibility for all individuals in the Globe.

This solution targets to increase the number of girls and young women participating in learning since it will reduce the barriers that prevent them from acquiring knowledge through learning. It shall not only be limited to that but shall also help people in conflict and emergency situations to reach their learnig milestones.

The Learning resource Server is innovative in a way that it operates at full capacity while offline to transfer Learning materials from the Server to the Devices which are connected to it. This is done using bluetooth configurations. The resource server also has an Artificial Intelligence system that keeps track of all the devices that are connected to it and helps to estimate the progress of an individual.

The offline mode of operation using bluetooth makes the system unique and reduces the expenses incurred especially on data. therefore, the minor groups of people that are in low resource settings have access to useful information and data that is educationally resourceful.

With the above described features, this makes the solution innovative and we hope it will impact many people's lives if it is scaled globally.

The solution is powered by Big data and Artificial Intelligence. Due to unreliable power systems especially in remote areas of Africa, the server uses batteries which are recharged during day by the solar energy from the sun. The devices are then connected remotely using bluetooth to the server, therefore the user can decide the information required from the server.

The Server keeps track of the serial number of the device in its addresses system and therefore it can monitor all the activities that are performed by the individual on his or her device. This is important for purposes of assessment especially where required.

We believe that, by increasing access to learning resources and materials. The vicious cycle of ignorance, illiteracy and inequalities shall be reduced by a big proportion and this shall help us to prepare for the coming generations especially that of the young and the youth which is expected to double by 2050 to that of the current.

Besides that, given the challenge of inadequate institutions and instructors, to carryout effective learning for the populations, the Learning resource Server shall help us to cover that gap if well handled and implemented.

When people are empowered with knowledge, it makes them to be individuals of sound mind who do not only benefit their own lives but also benefit the World at large.

The solution can currently serve about 70 people who can access the data remotely using bluetooth. We hope that when it is fully completed and multiple servers are manufactured, we shall be serving about five million scholars and by the end of five years, the solution shall be serving about one hundred million people that shall be involved in the learning process.

We hope that such shall be directly and meaningfully impacted.

Within the next year, We plan to have a fully running Learning Resource server manufacturing company and a digital device manufacturing company in order to break the gap of digital backwardness.

in the next five years, we hope to have a fully running education system based on servers and therefore the role of teachers shall be to motivate the students and learning groups to learn.

Cultural rigidities and backwardness is a common barrier, but also people do not have confidence and belief within the server  but this shall be broken with more sensitization and advocating through advertising.

Besides the human factors, other factors like inadequate funds and lack of capital to run the programs and designs makes it very difficult and thus alot is required.

Time is also sometimes inadequate given the busy schedule of the day but through collaborations and recruiting volunteers, we hope to generate enough time.

The barrier of lack of confidence shall be addressed through advocating and giving out free samples to masses inorder for people to regain confidence.

We plan to receive feedbacks from people which shall be very essentikal in the process of reframing and making our policies and plans.

The inadequate funds and capital shall be solved through collaborations and pitching our solution to various empowerement bodies like the Solve at MIT.

Since My Solution of the Learning Resource Server can be used by people who are in crisis for example refugees to acquire knowledge which is categorised into various divisions, we hope that this knowledge can help to transform the lives of the Refugees which shall collectively improve their economic life through the practical videos that are on the server, and since they shall be occupied, this shall help reduce involvement in politically unfriendly activities which shall ensure peace.
