SKILLING GIRLS AND WOMEN POST COVID-19.
We have single mothers, widows, school dropouts, and many women who are the sole house hold bread earners. Before COVID-19 pendamic some of these women were self employed doing small and medium enterprises (SMEs). 51% of the women SMEs have not survived COVID-19 lock-down; women have eaten all the capital, some of this capital was borrowed and to worsen the situation many women had multiple loans, then they now have "loan pressure"
Some other women who were employed, have been layed off.
we are going to skill girls and women in tailoring, hairdressing, knitting, bakery etc. using computerized equipments, coupled with the concept of mass production and collective marketing, quality and quantity control through monitoring and evaluation while encouraging the beneficiaries to save.
with in 18-24 months, these girls and women will have created sustainable income generating activities to support their livelihood.
500 people (girls, school dropouts, widows, single mothers/women) in wakiso district who were doing SMEs are unemployed due to COVID-19 lock-down, they have eaten all the capital, many had borrowed capital and 51% can no-longer restart their businesses.
Many of this category of women who were once employed have been layed off.
Skilling the girls and women in tailoring, hair dressing, knitting, bakery using computerized equipments, applying the concepts of mass production, collective marketing, provision of input materials, quality and quantity control through monitoring and evaluation, will draw the beneficiaries back on the business road.
Those who were layed off due to COVID-19 will start their own income generating activities from the acquired skills.
The project solution serves girls, school dropouts, single mothers, widows and their house holds who were once doing SMEs but are unemployed due to the COVID-19 lock-down.
The project will also serve some other women girls who were once employed but have been layed off due to COVID-19 pendamic.
We have received a number of women and girls who have expressed their challenges, and we have made home and markets visits.
Skilling girls and women coupled with mass production, collective marketing will create sustainable income generation for batter livelihood.

Today many girls and women were layed off due to COVID-19 and other can no-longer re-start their SMEs, they have eaten the capital in the lock-dowm and some had borrowed this capital, they are completely down. To draw them out of this challenge, we skill them, provide them with input materials, control their quality and quantity through monitoring and evaluation, collectively market their products, and encourage them to save. This treatment will take them 18-24months to recover.

We have a technical team / staff, the girls and women in need are many in Wakiso district, Skilling is Key to Import Substitution in Uganda- Buy Uganda Build Uganda.
Skilling girls and women with computerized machinery coupled with mass production and collective marking applications will promote import substitution in Uganda- Buy Uganda Build Uganda. After 5 years 5000 girls and women will have sustainable jobs.

With the full initial financial support for the 2000girls and women for the period of 18-24months, the project will be in full production of sweaters uniforms shoes, confectionery, and beautifying services. this will be sold out collectively at reasonable profit. From the 25th month, we expect to break-even towards the project self sustainability. Full self project sustainability will be achieved from the 5th year where we shall have five thousand (5000) beneficiaries at full production capacity.
Hands on foundation need enough funds to solve the post COVID-19 challenges for girls and women in Uganda. Solve has the capacity to create the sustainable jobs to improve their livelihood.
