Aiming to unleash youth potential using modern technology, WEduShare functions as an online community platform on social media and website that connects youth to various career & learning opportunities. We are building mobile apps and connecting with Free Basics by Facebook to reach out especially to the rural areas.

Poor education and access-to-information is a main problem in developing country like Cambodia. With high-school diploma has little value, higher education costs a fortune and chances of getting hired with the degree alone without soft-skill is low, thousands of youth decided to stop pursuing higher education and go for quick-money by doing hard labor abroad. It can be a twist if those youth are able to have access-to-information about scholarship either in or outside the countries or about chances that they can acquire soft skill that will develop their work-capacity.

We put the cure to problem by connecting youth to opportunities using online community. By gathering information about learning opportunities in both formal and informal sector and make them accessible to youth on a single platform; our solution, WEduShare, has opened window for youth to become invaluable human resources. From our one year of running, we have helped thousands of young Cambodians having opportunities to develop themselves with scholarships, internships, trainings, & extracurricular activities. Our result can be validated by corporations, non-profit organizations and youth themselves.

We are moving to another step of matching those individuals with suitable career opportunities.

With WEduShare, the impact will be youth in developing countries are able to obtain higher education both in country and overseas and to have skills that match current job market so that the amount of youth unemployment and underemployment in the region will drop. Utilizing modern technology and the growth of internet and smartphone users, we will use social media, website and mobile apps as our main channel to reach out to youth, our beneficiary.

WEduShare does beyond sharing but providing youth with soft skill guidance and open their way to the right career opportunities. This distinguishes us from other online platforms that do just on sharing information which is not enough to press the real need of youth. With our way of helping youth by not only giving them the access to information but also matching them to the right career opportunities, we are confident that our solution will distinctly alleviate youth unemployment and underemployment.

WEduShare is spurred by the passion of a group of youth who have seen and experienced the lack of access to important information such as scholarships and trainings that could have changed their lives forever. Those information used to available only to the privileged youth who study in expensive school and university but not to general youth. WEduShare comes to life and continue to grow by youth with the purpose to serve the underprivileged youth by linking them to the same information and suitable career opportunities that used to be available to privileged youth.

Because WEduShare will be deployed through various website, mobile apps and social media channels including the free basics of Facebook, it will be very affordable and accessible to general and underprivileged youth. Survey by the Asia Foundation has proved the growth of internet and smartphone usage to have increased dramatically in the recent year. Plus, we have already seen WEduShare showing the success of it reaching and benefiting our target audiences; indeed, we have received many thankful letters from youth in the community for helping getting opportunities that change their lives forever.

To sustain, we have always positioned ourselves as a for-profit social enterprise so that we can focus on building our own revenue streams, which act as a mean to keep us strong on our objectives and enable us to support our operation.

First, we earn from being a communications partner for Corporation-Social-Responsibility projects of corporations and universities all around the world directly benefiting youth in developing countries.

Second, we earn from employers through our career matching platform as we help youth to acquire the right skills that most of the employers need currently.

The first factor: Limitation of technology. We have invested times, our own finance and other resources in building mobile application only to meet with failure due to the limitation of our technology such as data analytic and machine learning. Also, our website is facing issues regarding maintenance.

The second factor: Limitation of finance. Building website and mobile apps that is very effective, data-driven and user friendly in Cambodia costs a lot of money which it has caused us difficulty in making our solution more successful.

Solve is the best place to assist our most critical part which is new technology as machine learning and data analytic is limited in Cambodia. Through Solve community's expertise, resources and mentorship, we hope to explore different latest technology and select the right-model to improve our current system. We believe that Solve is the most suitable partner in helping us to effectively implement our solution and achieve our goal of eradicating unemployment and empowering youth through technology.

Digital infrastructure on smartphone and internet in developing countries are now ready, so what we need is the right tool to utilize it.
