Academy of Employability Skills
- Pre-Seed
The Delima, Youth complains about not having jobs and corporate complains about not finding the right person for the right jobs. While we have been working with both schools/colleges and corporate, we found out that this problem can be addressed by bridging the gap between Education and Employability.
Skill development and capacity building is very important for whatever one does, job or self-employed.
It is important whether you own a work yourself or you work somewhere quality enhancement, and usages of things you learn is important. With the same concept to develop what the market demands and creating exceptional and well skilled human resource we are here as Academy of Employability Skills shall be working to fuel knowledge to people in deferent regions and who are to be skilled for living their life with dignity.
Objectives and justifications:
- To cope with national need of skilled manpower
The institute will strive to prepare skilled manpower/entrepreneurs/initiating manpower of different categories and fulfill the gap
2. To provide skills that are not taught in academic classes
There has been increasing pressure on students to have varied knowledge, skills and personality traits in the market. But these aspects are not dealt with that level in the academic colleges, due to the rush to finish the course and fulfill the graduation guidelines. We will play that intermediary role bridging the gap between the market and the students.
3. To give Nepalese students an opportunity to be part of international initiatives
Nepalese are not only supposed to go being an employee to other countries. We shall make a system of transformational excursions, exchanges, and tours to different countries for letting the students see the world, learn and apply back at Nepal.
4. Commitment to the development of Students to be Market ready
People approach the youth with an expectation that he/she will be accorded with the highest quality of learning, skills, and experiences. Error in the field of shaping a society is indeed costly. We want to believe in development is in the hands of amazing youths.
In the context of Nepal and alike socio-economic condition where a large number of young educated people including a huge number of educated female are jobless. They cannot contribute to the socio-economic development of themselves and their neighbors.
Our educational system is based on theoretical courses, not on practical implementation. So, even an electronics engineer knows nothing about the repairing sector of the electronics devices. They do not bother it, because they think that it is not their duty, it only for the uneducated (or lower educated) persons. Our systems make them idle and undone.
The project is divided into 3 steps, recognizing the heroes, teenagers who are doing amazing things with impact in the society, make them catalyst and show the impact of working and innovating to larger society. Training those hero to a greater level and increasing their capacity. Then, making teenagers an example, telling society that things can happen positively, if you are skillful and passionate. Promoting the benefits of skillful human resource. We have been designing the methods and different courses for enhancing the capabilities or larger youths. We are trying to connect corporates and skillful youth for jobs after skilling.

Before getting into the skilling, we try to develop the youngster by encouraging and appreciating the works done. Teen Hero is an award event that is designed to recognize dedicated, passionate and innovative teenagers of Nepal. It is to bring out the teenagers from the shadows who are doing something and create a ripple effect in the society. The overall purpose of this initiation is to motivate and encourage the teenagers to step out of their comfort zone, be creative and develop entrepreneurial thinking. This would provide them a national recognition and empowerment.
An E-Learning app is something we are thinking and prototyping to reaching out to a larger mass. This app will be available in different regional languages so that it is well understood and linked to local people and learning skills become easier and more accessible.
For now, we have been using face-to-face connectivity and website. However, the app is something we are trying to move ahead with.

The project has successfully been implemented for more than three years now and we are into the third cycle. The project was started from a very small setting, very less infrastructure. Our partnerships with different organizations, corporates helps us to move to the level we are talking about. We want to support in the training program for the other who are ineligible to pay for their training. By applying to solve I will be aware about how can I make it much efficient and assistance as being a solver would be amazing.
