Learn For Life
- Pre-Seed
We provide a functional ICT lab, international-standard online curriculum, quality teaching, and trained local ICT teachers, English Language Training. Our innovative online curriculum and content, skill development training on ICT, which diminishes any risk of the earning capabilities.
Many Bangladeshi students still live below the poverty line and without access to basic services. Access to modern technology also remains very limited, and very few students get the chance to learn how to use computers as part of their education and little access to the opportunities this provides later in life. In rural areas, 71% of girls are married before the age of 18, compared to 54% in urban areas because of less knowledge of modern technology (eg. ICT).
Through quality ICT education (Computer programming skill, Multimedia, Graphics design, Web page design and development, English Language skill development, Basic Computer operate and office course) Learn for Life will achieve a technologically literate, productive and critically thinking workforce by ensuring female secondary students, teenage and lower middle income youth have the skills they need for life in the digital stage and are able to compete in the global knowledge based economic market, thus providing long-term sustainable solutions to poverty alleviation.
There are 800 Bangladeshi secondary female students per year will be provided with free ICT education, training, and English language teaching in their local high school. LFL will ensure this by setting up the digitalized ICT lab, providing access to our online curriculum and training the local teachers in delivering the content. 800 Bangla speaking students of all ages will be able to access free ICT resources in their own native and English language through our web based learning software (website and mobile apps) and online content library.

Our solution of using technology is unique in Bangladesh because no one else has provided this resource for secondary school students in remote parts of the country. The technology enables the world to come to them. It provides them with skilled teachers from afar that they would not otherwise be able to access. There are very few highly motivated and tech savvy teachers that are willing to make rural Bangladesh their home.
Our technology motivates and enthuses the teachers and students participating in the program. They can already see the benefits of being able to communicate with others in a learning environment. Teachers are also given the opportunity to purchase laptops from us for a small weekly repayment. To date we have sold 30 laptops and funds received will enable us to bulk purchase further equipment that can then be sold to others on the same system. Most people in rural communities would not be able to afford to purchase such equipment by paying in one lump sum.
The project is proposed to establish online education system in rural location schools. The students of those school and college will get the benefit and they can access computers, the internet, and online library contents.
Besides, the young people of near the project area would access the computer lab during the local training period.

Currently have committed financial support for the project to the 31st December 2018.
Have developed a good relationship with the Ministry of Education in Bangladesh particularly as the project supports the goals of the "Vision 2021" program initiated by the Government which focuses on the use of technology by the community with regard to financial dealings. With a population of 163million and an age dependency ratio of 63% the Bangladesh Government's financial resources are stretched, however as the economic situation improves, financial support could be forthcoming.
Local communities where we operate appear to be keen to see the project succeed and expand and could possibly make contributions for hardware.
Approaching like minded organizations to assist in the scaling process.
Continue our project goals which include financial sustainability once funding has ceased.
Internet connectivity can sometimes be intermittent in Bangladesh particularly with computer hubs - less problems with wireless mobile telephones.
Financial resources required to fund the scale up.

We are applying to Solve as they are a community based organization with an extensive list of partners in various areas of business, philanthropy and government. A partnership based on shared visions and purpose can lead to improved coordination of policies, programs and service delivery which can only enhance the prospects of today's disadvantage youth being better prepared for the 21st century.
We take advantage of Solve by being receptive to new ideas and working collaboratively with new partners to scale up and work towards a sustainable online, interactive, technology based education system that is available to all disadvantaged youth.
