KnowHive - Bioinspired Collective Learning Ecosystem
- Pre-Seed
KnowHive is a collective knowledge ecosystem, inspired by the collective intelligence of honey bee colonies, aiming to connect academics, startups, corporate and government entities as well as tech enthusiasts and helps to explore new technologies, validate their innovative ideas, obtain feedback and improvise, which in turn benefit the whole community.
KnowHive is a Community based learning and innovation platform that explores futuristic technologies to better understand and apply disruptive ideas to tackle contemporary challenges through collective collaborations. Just like Honeybees make intelligent decisions as a colony, which can never be attained by a single bee, KnowHive will help individuals to make better intelligent decisions as well as share their wisdom for the benefit of other individuals and the community as a whole.
KnowHive is flexible enough to incorporate the existing knowledge resources of companies, NGOs and professional communities to learn disruptive new technologies. It offers a range of educational outreach programs to students and budding entrepreneurs, enabling the current generation with technological tools to tackle the exponential technologies of tomorrow.
KnowHive enables connectivity with the under privilege sector, which will help us to understand and solve current bottlenecks in knowledge acquisition and sharing. It will help every member to build a better career in futuristic technologies. This platform can be used anywhere in the world to improve or update the skills of workforce with new technologies, so that if scaled properly, it will solve the unemployment problem.
Even though there are a great number of schemes and projects being announced for improving educational standards and promoting research work in India, the main problem is that there is no effective platform to connect between learners looking for a job and mentors who are willing to share their wisdom for the community.
KnowHive will provide a learning ecosystem, called the ‘Dance Floor’, where individual members can share their knowledge. This Waggle Dance contains information about the scope and direction of upcoming technologies, which motivates others to follow the path and explore the new technologies and upcoming domains.
Waggle Dance at our Dance Floor will create an awareness and influence in learners about Futuristic Technologies. It will motivate more learners to experiment with the upcoming technologies, thereby improving their skill sets and knowledge.
Recently we have published a research paper showing the importance of waggle dance in viral campaigns.
Sankar, C. Prem, S. Asharaf, and K. Satheesh Kumar. "Learning from Bees: An Approach for Influence Maximization on Viral Campaigns." PloS one 11.12 (2016): e0168125.
We use similar approach in KnowHive learning platform where the collective intelligence of learners and mentors will help maximize the knowledge acquisition process.
Learning in KnowHive Platform is quick, relevant, intensive and affordable. More than anything,it helps you to connect with mentors from industry and research. Learners can achieve in-demand skills relevant for futuristic technologies, which employers are hungry for. Thus, both industry and academics will get benefited from this platform.

The cutting-edge technologies are incorporated to provide a crowd sourcing platform which offers learning programmes in multiple domains. We use power of social networking and collective intelligence to explore the new technologies for career opportunities.
We seek to solve the connectivity issue through the social networking with experts and other professional communities. We can provide affordable learning materials to the under-privileged student and startup communities .
KnowHive will serve as an inter-connecting platform for academics, startups, corporate companies and government entities and tech enthusiasts to engage with each other.
The KnowHive will be deployed through the introductory talks and expert sessions in various academics institutions to give an awareness about futuristic technologies and career opportunities in it. Later it will be integrated into an online learning platform with features to engage with each other and share knowledge to make better decisions in business as well as academics.

We are looking for research grands and Startup funds to help us develop a research prototype. Crowd sourcing and donations will be used in pilot stage. We will take up research and industrial projects, leveraging the brain power accumulated in KnowHive, for financial needs in future stages.
Unavailability of experts in a particular locality, inaccessibility to different communicates and lack of connectivity with government and academic officials are the major challenges that limit the ability of our solution to succeed in the current stage.
