TVET my future
I am committed to solve a problem of low number of girls and women who join TVET Schools. A solution I am proposing, is a campaign across the country to mobilize the community focusing on girls and parents explaining how important TVET Schools are. This will be done through a youtube channel that will be created where some(GIRLS AND WOMEN) will witness how successful they are because of joinig TVET. My solution will change lives because girls and women will join TVET and create their own job easily without waiting seeking for jobs.
In Rwanda, our history and culture has always discouraged girls and women from joining work that requires physical energy. With my solution, we want to show schoolgirls, parents and other Rwandans that it is possible for girls to take on these courses. Besides, Girls and women explain fear that joining a polytechnic requires one to be well versed with STEM programs which most girls found intimidating. Most girls are intimidated by these courses because they think that they require physical ability. Others think that the subjects are too complicated, but also, not being able to see many females graduating in these courses discourages the rest. Currently, the enrollment of girls in TVET is at 40 per cent. That may sound fine but the girls are many more in certain trades like hospitality but when you look at trades that seem a bit heavy, like welding, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, there are very few girls. Female who graduated in level 7 is 25% in 20218. Female who joined STEM program is 18%. I am working to solve a problem of lower number of girls and women who join TVET schools till they graduate through campaigns.
My solution, I will create a youtube channel and make interviews with successful girls and women/role models who benefited because of joining TVET. These role models will engage with girls, parents and other concerned Rwandans sensitizing them about the importance of enrolling girls in TVET. This online campaign through a youtube channel will not be enough, the reason why we will also make stopovers across some Districts of the country depending on the fund.
The campaign will also come to solve the common challenge f girls shunning specific courses like engineering and construction. In this campaign, we want to show schoolgirls, parents and other Rwandans that it is possible for girls to take on these courses. We will go to every province visiting schools, meeting schoolgirls and sensitizing them about this because supporting women in TVET is a key part of promoting and implementing sustainable development.
My solution serve directly girls and women whom I want them to have improved lives. I wish girls and women may be empowered through TVET. What I did to understand their needs, I live with those girls and women since 2015 till now. I have been students welfare in polytechnics where I met them, converse with them and counseled. When they failed, they had to receive counseling, chat with their guardians and know why that failure lastly I noticed the problem in TVET sector. Luckily, I am now Monitoring and evaluation in Rwanda Polytechnic where am aware on TVET SECTOR. After that, I noticed there is a need of awareness campaign so as to to let people feel proud with TVET particularly girls and women. By developing a solution, it's from their initiative with a bottom up solution. BY joining TVET they will BE prepared for employment and entrepreneurship as well as contributes to the workforce and citizenship development.

Increase the number of girls and young women participating in formal and informal learning and training
The problem: low number of girls and women in TVET
Solution: Awareness campaign
Targeted population: Girls and women
There is a link because my dimension of TVET contains a low number of girls and women and the solution will answer the problem
- Concept: An idea being explored for its feasibility to build a product, service, or business model based on that idea
- A new business model or process
We are used to sensitize people by approaching them with meetings and other means , but by using youtube channel, this will reach many people at the same time. Besides, role models/ successful girls and women will get time in full to witness what they benefited from TVET.
Using youtube channel is common for many users and it works
- Internet of Things

My beneficiaries are are parents, whole community but my key customers are girls and women. The service I give them is to mobilize them to join TVET through a youtube channel witness and join the community physically through meetings, sketches and theaters. I will provide services with role models or successful girls and women who will witness their achievements because of TVET. I will also use some girls in TVET schools to join me in campaign and witness how they feel in TVET Schools or polytechnics.
Barriers are such mindset of people to enroll a girl or a woman in TVET Shcools, in STEM or a child him/herself may have that mindset. so, if my solution is selected, I will conduct a strong awareness campaign via my youtube channel I will create and physical meeting, events with different people/group all over the country. Many direct interviews will be channeled on my youtube with successful girls/women considered as role models to witness their achievements because of joining TVET. If these mindsets change, guardians and children will understand better that TVET it's not all about males only. Even female are capable then refer them to typical examples.

My partnership goals is to get many hands to lift up my solution then achieve more which is the best for me. By getting partnership, I will do more so that the girl&woman will benefit service accordingly. This will increase my lease of knowledge, expertise, and resources available to make better service and reach a greater audience and will enhance the ethos of my solution.
I would like to partner with Women for Women International. I would like to partner with them by supporting in supporting girls and women graduates to find out start up capital to run their projects.
I am qualified for the Andam prize because my solutions is regarding to girls and women including refugee too by advance the economic, financial, and political inclusion. I have a target of approaching Mahama refugee camp for a better consideration of female from there under 24 years. When I get a chance to receive that prize, I will use it for innovation in refugee inclusion to advance my solution by strengthening my campaign particularly focusing in the camp.
I am qualified for the innovation for women prize because my solution goes to girls and women's improvement in their lives. Through my youtube channel, women will witness their achievement and visit their business so as other may consider them as their role models and try their best to imitate them.
I think am well qualified for GM Prize because I meet its target by encouraging girls to join STEM related programs so as to be enrolled in TVET Schools and polytechnics. In our campaign, this will be our major task to tell girls not to fear to study those STEM related program. We will work with students of all levels. Science, technology, engineering and mathematics workers play a key role in the sustained growth and stability. STEM education creates critical thinkers, increases science literacy, and enables the next generation of innovators. This reason matches better with our solution. During the campaign, parents and educators will be reminded not to be deprived of an opportunity to have a more hands-on education. We can't separate STEM AND TVET.
I think I am well qualified for Gulbenkian Award because I target girls and women, to join TVET Schools, create their own jobs not being job seekers where entrepreneurship will be raised referring to their role models or other visited areas that will be channeled on youtube. When I get this prize, I will use it by settling a business incubation center where young ones mostly girls and women will be coached, hatched and nurtured. They will feel at home in how to start their own business not only after graduating from TVET but also while staying at school. Qualified facilitators will be there to help them accordingly.
