Reuse donated equipment to build the technological infrastructure needed for computer and networking small businesses within a classroom.

String together the necessary  objects to run a small business in a classroom setting.  Allow the students to physically build the network using donated operable equipment.  Ideally, each student would build their own computer and utilize it throughout the school day.  This solution  reuses equipment that would likely end up in a landfill.  The worldwide affect could bring equipment to areas that have minimal access and offer an international learning platform for students.

Most schools do not have enough computers for every student to use.  Also, students do not understand the basics of computers and the peripheral devices.  Hands-on learning is an effective tool in getting students engaged and helping them retain the knowledge.

Every job I've worked is built on the understanding that you learn on-the -job.  This strategy works because most people learn by actually doing something.  If students were given the equipment and taught how the pieces worked together they have the knowledge to build something useful and applicable to their lives. Psychologically, people are also more likely to follow-through with a project that they are invested in.   So, allowing students to build their own computer gives them a sense of connection to the work.  

Simplicity at play.  Most people take computers for granted and know how to operate them, but even in our developed country not everyone has a computer.  This strategy would change how people are given access to computers.
