Teacher salaries for refugee/IDPs Camp
In Togh Sarai IDPs of tribal district Pakistan have limited access to education because there is no funding to hire teachers. Many teachers left their teaching job which was their “source of income and a live motivation.” Children aged 5-12 years old are severely affected and there is not enough funding to hire teachers in camps. Just in 1 camp around 1300 children are affected, according to OCHA there are 4 other camps with the same situation.
Our Solution is to create a Frictionless platform for individual and institutional donations to go directly to teachers in the camps which will collect fundings, and distribute directly to pre-verified teachers.
We are addresses crucial scale of illiteracy in Pakistan with a model salable to other refugee camps globally.
Builds on existing global momentum, e.g.“Global Compacts on Migration and Refugees, Education Cannot Wait”
The main reasons are:
Illiteracy rates in IDPs camps in Pakistan are significantly on the rise espicially girls education.
Due to timing of the war, children aged 5-12 years old are severely affected.
Because of the war teachers left their jobs and moved to camps.
There is not enough funding to hire teachers in camps.
For example, Asif Malik is a teacher in Togh Sari IDP Camp. He has 25 years teaching experience and Fled from his house in Kasha valley, Orakzai who had to leave his job and come to Togh Sarai camp, Hangu. The school, where he used to work in, became a military base, he and several other teachers left their teaching job which was his “source of income and a live motivation.”
We are creating a digital tech-based platform named "Crowdfunding Teacher Salaries for Refugee/IDP Camps". We are creating a Frictionless platform for individual and institutional donations to go directly to teachers in the camps which will collect funding, and distribute directly to pre-verified teachers.
What does it do?
Collect and connect funding, and distribute directly to pre-varified teachers providing education for 1300 children in Togh Sari Camp Hangu, Pakistan. We are Addresses crucial scale of illiteracy in Pakistan with a model scalable to other refugee camps globally.
SEC main TORs:
Situation analysis,
Developing website and online platform
Contribution to identify and hire qualified teacher from the community
Marketing (writing stories, developing class, teacher and student profile, project the current situation, coordination),
identification of internal and external volunteers,
selection of monitors and liaisons,
Maintenance of website,
Interaction with donors via projecting stories, evidence of change, news letters, and letters,
Provide accountability.
Monitors TORs:
1: Performance appraisal of teacher,
2. Provide stories from the field,
3. Support and insure that teacher do take attendance, provide result sheet, provide teaching plan and so on and submitted to in-chrage office.
Situation analysis by visiting 4 IDP camps in Pakistan and Meet teachers we identify 1300 children include girls that are away from getting education, we also identify around 8 teachers just in one camp.
Initially we will reach 6000+ children and 36 teachers in New Durani Camp, Jalozai Camp, and Bakka Khel Camp.
We have a model scalable to other refugee camps globally. We already have developed Marketing Strategies (writing stories, developing class, teacher and student profile, project the current situation, coordination). Once we will launch it we will start education 1300 children include girls just in one IDP Camp and within one year we will expand it to other 4 camps in Pakistan. We will pay salaries to around 36 teachers in these camps.
- Reduce the barriers that prevent girls and young women—especially those living in conflict and emergency situations—from reaching key learning milestones
Reduce the barriers that prevent girls and young women—especially those living in conflict and emergency situations—from reaching key learning milestones is best matched to my solution because in the IDPs camp in Pakistan both young boys and girls have limited access to education because they are living in emergency situation and they are in different IDPs camps.
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model
- A new application of an existing technology
Well, as we aim to the inevitability of technology-education collaboration, the situation of Pakistan’s education system and the extent of success of online education in refugee camps in Pakistan.
The core innovation is this will be the first platform of Crowdfunding teacher salaries for refugee camps of the globe that collect and connect funding, and distribute directly to pre-verified teachers providing education for 1300 children in just 1 camp named Togh Sari Camp Hangu, Pakistan.
Although unfortunately in Pakistan there are no similar platforms do parts of what we project to do 'Crowdfunding Teacher Salaries in Refugee camps'. It is the first platform that addresses the crucial scale of illiteracy in Ex-FATA with a model scalable to other refugee camps globally secondly, builds on existing global momentum, e.g. “Global Compacts on Migration and Refugees, Education Cannot Wait.

•Have a model scalable to other refugee camps globally
We have plan to Initial operate it Pakistan with the support of Seed Money/Donor to launch Proof of Concept.
In the next 2 years we have plan to expand it to Afghanistan and long term In next will expand it to Syria and Iraq and Globe.
The biggest challenge that we are currently facing is the provinces in Pakistan have somewhat similar business and social work regulations, but each province is unique.
Secondly, the same legal problem we will face in other countries once we will expand it.
We plan to treat them differently. We know that for our expansion across Pakistan to be smooth, we will have to work with and gain the trust of each province’s and Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
For other countries we will sign an agreement with the government and we will work with local stakeholders.
