The solution is about empowering rural women with the right tool & technology, which will create a change in their life and create impact. In this case - mobile phone & internet access.
By providing mobile device with internet access we can achieve the following outcomes -
1) Poor women in village can now have health care information through the mobile phone and will be able to take care of themselves and their near & dear to some extend. Today they dont have any primary heath care, doctors , dispensary or hospitals. I believe this will create some impact.
2) Similarly other ares that i think will find impact are - education, information and e-commerce.
I believe this will work not because of my thinking alone. Also, given i did not have access to outside resource i interviewed by GrandMom - who is a classical case of having grown up in village and did not have any access to technology.
I quizzed her on various aspects - if she has mobile device while growing up or if women today in villages are given device + internet access , does she think it useful. She seem to believe it will and agreed to the idea that i was proposing and its impact on women.
My solution can change the life of so many women who are waiting for some great soul to approach them one day and lead them to a better life.We are those great souls.
The women who will be empowered will be benefited by my solution.
It can be deployed to them by smart phone and internet service companies such as airtel, reliance,BSNL etc......as CSR (Corporate social responsibility) which can be passed on to the government or NGOs to pass it to the needy.
Track through distribution agencies like NGOs - To how many women smart phones were being distributed
- Adult
- Low-income economies (< $1005 GNI)
- Primary
- Female
- Rural
- Sub-Saharan Africa
- Latin America and the Caribbean
- Consumer-facing software (mobile applications, cloud services)
The idea of giving smart phones itself is not very unique but giving smart phones with internet access to every woman has a government priority is definitely very unique.
The heart of my idea revolves around the smart phone and there are close to 3 billion people who are using it, hence making it the most human-centered solution. I have no doubt the rural women will take to smart phone very easily.
Most of the content is already available on the internet and we are going to make available the devices to make available the content.
The affordability part is what needs to be solved and I suggest the government and other private organizations to fund the needed .

For my research and pilot, Idon't think a lot of money is needed. Once the concept is proven, then massive amount of funding will be needed .\
