FamilyGift
FamilyGift is a web app maternal and newborn health care solution that aggregating large groups of patients, then advocating and negotiating for deep discounts on prescription drugs and then passing it down completely to patients.
Healthcare is costing Nigerians more and more every year. Standard of living is increasing, the poor are getting poorer and the price of maternal health and newborn prescription drugs seems to be skyrocketing with no end in sight.
While Government is developing ways for maternal health to access quick healthcare solutions, most of them are complicated and annoying. Families have to go through stressful processes without getting the required affordable medicines. FamilyGift works in a totally different way – a much better, easier way to get cheaper life-saving prescription drugs. All they have to do is login into the app and show it to a participating pharmacy and the discount is applied at checkout.
The solution provides better access to medicine to Maternal Health & Newborn. It will enable thousands of families to save more on life-saving prescription drugs, helping them to live healthier lives.
- Expand access to high-quality, affordable care for women, new mothers, and newborns
Even the price of generic drugs is getting out of control and not all are fortunate enough to afford it. FamilyGift will address the affordability of families to access desired drugs for maternal health and newborn.

- A new technology
There are few good Maternal health apps in Nigeria but hardly any are family inclusive. The prominent ones are: GiftedMom, Zero Mothers Die, MAMA, MayMay, Safe Pregnancy and Birth.
No-one could argue that mothers do not need these services and I have equally argued that a mother’s access to maternal health services must never be conditional on participation by other members of her family – this practice has been tried in HIV testing campaigns that are targeting men, but it is fundamentally unfair, and disadvantages vulnerable women in particular.
FamilyGift have been able to be more innovative by integrating complete tech solution for maternal and newborn helping them access life-saving prescription drugs from pregnancy, to birth and after delivery of newborn.
