Kick Out Malaria
Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by parasites that are transmitted to people through the bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. It is preventable and curable. In 2018, there were an estimated 228 million cases of malaria worldwide. The problem I would solve is to reduce malaria case incidence and mortality rates by at least 90% by 2030, To eliminate malaria in at least 40 countries by 2030, To prevent a resurgence of malaria in all countries that are malaria-free. The solution I would propose is a mosquito repellent skin product made from Hyptis Suaveolens Oil, Shea Butter and Lavender Fragrance Oil that prevents mosquito bites and soothes the skin.
Mosquito net is not 100% safe as its get torn with time. The solution would prevent pregnant women, men and children from contacting malaria, when applied on the skin, hence it gives comfort globally.
According to WHO, In 2018, there were an estimated 228 million cases of malaria worldwide. The estimated number of malaria deaths stood at 405 000 in 2018. This is because most infections in Africa are caused by Plasmodium falciparum. It is the most dangerous of the four human malaria parasites and also the most effective malaria vector.
The problem I would solve is to reduce malaria case incidence and mortality rates by at least 90% by 2030, To eliminate malaria in at least 40 countries by 2030, To prevent a resurgence of malaria in all countries that are malaria-free. Kick Out Malaria is a mosquito repellent skin product that prevents mosquito bites and soothes the skin. Kick Out Malaria is a product made from Hyptis Suaveolens Oil, Shea Butter and Lavender Fragrance Oil, all from steam distillation. Hyptis Suaveolens Oil is extracted from Hyptis Suaveolens plants, Lavender Fragrance Oil is extracted from lavender stem and leaves. Shea butter is gotten from Oyo State, Nigeria while Hyptis Suaveolens and Lavender are gotten from farmers. Hyptis Suaveolens is known for its antimicrobial and antioxidant activities, while Lavender oil does double duty for insect bites. It acts as an insect repellent, it kills bacteria and it can relieve itching after a bite occurs. Shea butter has high concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins that makes the skin soft. Hyptis Suaveolens and lavender oil are extracted from steam distillation using methanol, tested and weighed on a weight balance machine in a lab, the product is then mixed with shea butter. Kick Out Malaria is packaged in a 0.5 Litre rubber plastic sealed container and affordable for everyone to use.
The target population are over 400 million people. They include men, women, and children living in mosquito infected areas, tourists who travel from one malaria infected country to another. Malaria knows no age nor gender. I'm currently running a campaign to enlighten people through inbound and outbound marketing on how to prevent malaria disease with the use of Kick Out Malaria. The campaign is needed because Kick Out Malaria is an all-round naturally made product. No chemical involved. Other products like Odomos, Mortein, Longrich, Mouka Mozzi mosquito repellents are known to have DEETS that causes skin rashes, breathing problems and other health hazards. This will give my business a sustainable competitive advantage over other competitiors. Kick out malaria will costs 2 dollar, and it is affordable, I have been able to engage few customers by sharing a survey online and offline to get reviews of how the product has been of benefits to them. So far the responses have been great, considering the fact that it is affordable and durable on the skin. The solution gives soothen relief, comfort and confidence to sleep healthy.
- Decrease the risk of disease between mothers and newborns
Mosquitoes are ubiquitous in nature.Women give births daily. If there is a decrease in women on earth as a result of malaria disease, it will affect procreation and child birth, hence reducing the world's population. Due to this fact, mother and child must be protected from malaria disease.
Kick Out Malaria is much more effective than mosquito nets because mosquito nets gets torn with time. Kick out Malaria, when applied on the skin, lasts for over 10 hours. Indeed it decreases the risk of malaria disease between mothers and newborns.
- Concept: An idea being explored for its feasibility to build a product, service, or business model based on that idea

Since it is still a concept Idea and I have been able to sample 10 people with prototype.
With the rate of increase in malaria in nigeria. I will be able to serve 50 million people in one year
In five years, I should be able to serve over 250 million people across africa.
- To reduce malaria case incidence and mortality rates by at least 20% by the end of 2021
- To reduce malaria case incidence and mortality rates by at least 70% by the end of 2025
- To eliminate malaria in at least 35 countries by 2025
- To prevent a resurgence of malaria in all countries that are malaria-free.
I plan to achieve this through product promotions through digital marketing, customer referrals, promo codes/discounts, sharing of hand-bills, use of electronic media (E-Bill boards, Television, Radio), sales partnership with private and public organisations.
The barrier that exist for me to accomplish my goals in the next year and in the next five years is financial barriers.
I don't have enough money to finance this project that is why I am seeking for a grant to help push the business up. I currently don't have much access to investors because, in Nigeria Where I come from, most investors will turn out to be your competitor of your own products. Taking a bank loan is not ideal in the present economy of nigeria.
Digital marketing campaigns are expensive. It requires funding to create massive awareness and to build an online presence.
I plan to overcome this barriers by starting with the little I have. Telling family and friends who are supportive and believe in my vision and mission will go a long way to start my business. Words of mouth, referals and reviews of my products are evidences that my product is a necessity.
I will take these steps for a start.
