Ethno-sciences
There is a disarticulation between ancestral or traditional knowledge of indigenous communities and academic pensum, which does not necessarily involve the context of higher education students, therefore, it was proposed within the chair of Fundamentals in Natural Sciences of the Bachelor of Education program Basic of the Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia, the integration of traditional and scientific knowledge generating a teaching-learning strategy of the natural sciences that involves the richness of cultural and traditional knowledge of the ethnic groups to which university students belong with the participation of the knowledgeable and basic education students of the Piapoco, Curripaco and Cubeo communities, for the development of scientific skills and attitudes that arise from their specific context.
The scale of the problem to be solved is presented anywhere in the world where there are indigenous communities in higher education training processes, where there is no articulation of their previous and traditional knowledge with academics and scientists.
In the department of Guainía-Colombia, an exercise has been carried out with 30 university students and their communities of the ethnic Piapoco, Curripaco and Cubeo, involving the basic education students in their charge as teachers and their communities. However, the exercise can be replicated to other regions and communities in Latin America or the world.
Disregarding ancestral and traditional knowledge limits the end of education, which must be focused on the development of skills that allow the solution of real-life problems or needs, so that integrating the context and the dialogue of knowledge into the university curriculum enriches the educational process and acquires meaning for its participants.
The population with which he was working is located in the municipality of Barrancominas, department of Guainía-Colombia, there are students of the Bachelor of Basic Education program of the Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia, most of them as a teacher in community schools With these young people, projects in ethnobotany and ethnozoology were proposed to be developed with their students from the schools where they work, having as a requirement, linking the community with their knowledge.
The development of projects and research in ethnobotany and ethnozoology has generated in young people developing scientific skills and attitudes, which are also transmitted to the children with whom they work, in addition this process in which the community is involved has allowed to rescue ancestral knowledge of ethnic groups regarding their relationship with nature and recognizing their meaning in customs, beliefs, use and subsistence, which, as time goes by, is more ignored by younger people who express greater interest in themes and technologies of the "western society". Therefore, the importance of this project is to integrate skills and knowledge that rescue and value the knowledge and technologies of ethnic communities that still persist and understand their importance and legacy.
- Deploy new and alternative learning models that broaden pathways for employment and teach entrepreneurial, technical, language, and soft skills
- Support and build the capacity of formal and informal educators to better prepare Latin American and Caribbean learners of all ages for the jobs of today and tomorrow
- Pilot
This approach is innovative, because in higher education the importance of the context of the students in the learning process is often unknown, therefore, it is necessary to observe who my students are and make the necessary modifications in the teaching strategy to favor the educational process. In addition, it seeks the development of scientific skills and rescue the value of its social, cognitive and geographical features.

Work relationship with the entity where I proposed and develop the projects,
Link to another, where I can also do it, or become independent and do it as a private individual, with own resources.
- My solution is already being implemented in Latin America/Caribbean

- Other e.g. part of a larger organization (please explain below)
I proposed this initiative as a teacher of the Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia and the activity as such does not generate profit.
Me and my students at the time.
I believe that the importance of this proposal is to observe and value the knowledge and technologies of ethnic groups, not only of "Western society", much of that knowledge must be rescued because in their own communities for the youngest is no longer important because It is not known.
I am a Biologist, Master in Neuropsychology and Education; with experience in research and teaching in higher education leading projects with support from international entities; likewise, with experience in the management of processes of control and prevention of crimes and environmental contraventions. I currently work as a professional in the research, development and innovation group of the Center for Research and Development in Geographic Information - CIAF of the Agustín Codazzi Geographical Institute - IGAC, with responsibilities in the implementation and accreditation of the Spectrometry Laboratory, participation in projects of geospatial technology research from the marine and mangrove ecosystem component and analysis of the territory.
