Labgo

Nowadays the world teaches the future generations Science, Technology, Engineering and Math in tedious and disheartening ways, there are few solutions in the market that provide meaningful learning content. By creating accessible and innovative tools it is possible to bring quality education therefore we can reach people in different environments and social statuses.
Labgo are portable and intelligent STEM labs (kits) based on Immersive learning though a Digital platform, app, and real hands-on projects through learning experiences. Aiming to develop the 4 Soft skills (Critical Thinking, Curiosity, Creativity, Crafting) of the future on very girl and boy through Labgo learning methodology “Play-Learn-Inspire”.
Education can transform socially and economically a region with this we want to be the platform for STEM learning and exponentiation for the future generation by inspiring and motivating young people in LATAM and the Caribbean to embrace a vision towards the future and development of the region.

Mexican education is boring and demotivating, the promotion of science and technology in the youth is very low and does not reach any results, especially in the STEM fields.
Some raw data on this problem: Mexican education is insufficient, unequal and its quality is uncertain, every minute 2.2 young Mexicans drop out of school, since 2012 Mexican students have failed and scored lower than the average in science, math and reading in the PISA exam and by 2030 half of the world’s youth, over 800 million young people will not have the skills they need to succeed in work and life. (Data from SEP, Coneval, OCED and OEI)
There are few innovative and accessible solutions in the market that address STEM learning especially by using digital tools, high-quality education is important in order to promote leadership in the youth as well as within a community, for that our solution goes beyond a STEM kit. We want to bring quality education in order to face the future and prepare our young generations for employability through a digital culture by using digital tools and fun projects.
The validation phase of Labgo was vital in order to develop a real learning solution, we presented our solution with agents of the Triple Helix such as Nestlé, CEMEX, Guadalupe Gov. City, Tec de Monterrey and UANL these institutions gave us green lights, key points and confidence to keep moving forward.
In August we worked with CEMEX in their first STEM summer camp, later in November of 2019 we got accepted to pitch into INCmty, the most important entrepreneurship festival of Latin-America, in December we got into “Start-Up Passport” from Monterrey Digital Hub (MDH), the first digital transformation ecosystem in Mexico that brings together enterprise, tech entrepreneurs & digital talent, in February we got recognized by the Yunus&Youth program of our social objective of education and in June we will be presenting our solution to Future Land of TalentLand in Guadalajara all of this while serving over 200 students.
In Mexico, there are over 70 million people that use smartphones we look forward to serving the new generations with a learning platform in order to prepare the new agents of change for the challenges of the future and accessible learning content.
We are developing the next generation of STEM curriculums by providing high-quality content, our solution makes the learning process of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math fun and interactive.
Labgo goes beyond a simple STEM kit, with the box of the kit, students and anyone interested in STEM can build up their own STEM Lab, we put industrial design and reverse engineering in order to inspire and empower the users, therefore the users can learn wherever, whenever.
Labgo is an interaction of the lab, material for real hands-on projects, operative manual and digital tool, Labgo App, with immersive learning interaction with our AR (Augmented Reality) tech having retention with 3D models and interesting lectures, once students and teachers are connected to the internet can download the material and access without an internet connection. We will empower future changemakers and leaders to create & develop opportunities towards employability and quality of life for everyone.

- Deploy new and alternative learning models that broaden pathways for employment and teach entrepreneurial, technical, language, and soft skills
- Provide equitable access to learning and training programs regardless of location, income, or connectivity throughout Latin America and the Caribbean
- Prototype
The Labgo innovation is based on pedagogy by approaching 3 pillars of research learning: Playful learning, Inclusive learning, and Immersive learning. The result is the creation of the “Play-Learn-Inspire” methodology, making the learning process fun and friendly due to the conjunction of colors, shapes and information in the manual, as well as the material from the Science and technology kits, are designed by us based on what do the users want.
By creating a new way of learning along with the 3 pillars Labgo provide learning experiences through real hands-on projects and immersive learning with an educational digital tool, which uses “AR section” using interactive models to detonate the creativity of the students and “conoce+” section where users can read eye-catching STEM readings.
Sustainability is part of the boxes, due to our intelligent and portable STEM labs that go beyond a simple STEM kit, with Labgo students and teachers can build up their own STEM labs in seconds with the same box, empowering, inspiring and motivating the users to learn constantly, adapted to the users’ pace.
The interaction of the lab, material, manual and app is a revolutionary way of bringing knowledge due to the user is adapting to new ways of learning, with this Labgo is ready to inspire and develop the Soft-skills in young generations in order to face that will come, as a way to have a research and entrepreneurship spirit by learning by doing, on experiences.
Preparing the future generations by reaching students in rural areas, with the lab in a box within a school or at home we can decentralized how education is being provided. Labgo puts up high-quality STEM education with the goal of inspiring the youth pursue STEM areas and optimistically decrease dropout rates.
We will change how STEM education is being taught with an innovative & disruptive way, Labgo is based on pedagogy and research knowledge for that we are the solution of tomorrow. Our solution can reach different parts of the world, that is, rural areas, we put our heart into the creation of STEM study plans that will then be validated before the labor secretaries and companies, thus impacting not only nationally but internationally.

Labgo started (August 2019) with the mission of inspire the new generation through fun science and tech, we worked with the triple helix in which Labgo served over 200 young student from 8 to 15 years old.
We are creating a new way of learning STEM, we will be accelerating our process in order to complete a clean and well-produced MVP with this we look forward to have the recognition from grants and prices in order to be working with public and private schools. With the “Play-Learn-Inspire” methodology we are creating a new way of learning, for that we have the commitment and motivation to represent STEM education, in one year, we will be serving over 30 schools in Nuevo León, Mexico City and Guadalajara as well as labgo will have a first touch in Colombia and have an outreach of 10,000 interested clients and users.
In 5 years we will be THE STEM PLATFORM working along with industry, government and educational sectors in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, USA and Spain with this we will be archiving the 4th and 17th UN SDGs. Serving at least 1,000,000 million students and stakeholder as well as to make our platform in languages such as English and Portuguese.

Within one year we look forward to have the resources to increase our innovation process of creating sustainable and life changing STEM programs in the youth, with our product we look forward to prepare the youth with Soft-skills and empowerment in order to increase employability and research & entrepreneurship spirit within Labgo users.
[In 1 year] Our goal in one year once we have resources, we will be reaching 3 states in Mexico, while working with the Triple Helix. With Labgo Series in educational institutions. As well as we will be introducing the first monthly STEM program in Mexico by our “Programa de Innovación” in which we will be providing clients and users with a monthly fun random STEM packages.
[in 2 years] As well as to reach and work with the private and public education system to introduce STEM labs with Labgo series (Gold & Diamond) by an integration with School-Home educational program, with real validation.
[In 5 years] We will cover Mexico and Latin American countries such as Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil, as well as having a global impact in Spain and Portugal.
- The main barrier is to break the STEM learning fear culture, in which people is not normally used to, how we approach that problem as an opportunity.
- Few believe in young passionate agents of change looking forward to reinventing the way STEM is being taught, because we are “too” young to know what the future will really is and what will happen. In fact, our research study and worked done have proven the contrary, we are part of this chaining era between what the future of work will be and what will come next.
- A barrier is the economic resource to develop our innovation, the more times it takes, it becomes harder to put out on the market, ie Lango app, we put maybe to 2 to 3 hours a week in the development because we do not have the machines when we want, and legal aspect in which the protection of the brand at IMPI.
- Recognition from well-known institutions is what we are lacking due to the more recognition a solution has, the more acceptance it would get.
We are already making noise at the national level, in big events, in addition to being validating our solutions, in two main areas “what our users and clients need and want” and “accessibility and comfort”. We are ready planning on how we will get our customers, and once we have the resources economic and time, therefore we are ready to have the market positioning. With this we are killing points 1 and 2.
Keep participating in grants and prizes contest and entrepreneurship events not because of the economic resource but the journey covered, making outreach and impact with possible clients, users and stakeholders. Point 3.
With this from our journey and activities, we will be planning to be partnering with the public and private education system and thus put corruption aside and create well produced marketing strategies. Point 4.
- My solution is already being implemented in Latin America/Caribbean
We collaborated with CEMEX in their first summer camp, with the experiments and graphics of the Labs (boxes).

We partnered with the Institute of Youth of Guadalupe City, in local events every 15 days, by working with parents, children and stakeholders in order to validate our business model and the impact.

While doing this we were work with educational institutions (Tec and UANL) by doing research and working with students.

- Hybrid of for-profit and nonprofit

Personally, I have a wide range of experience in the education sector regardless of my age (20 years old), and I have lived and experienced what do students and teachers want. Not only within my community but in different parts of Mexico hearing and feeling as well as hearing from friends from Chile, Colombia, Peru and Venezuela.
The people that work in Labgo is well-positioned to success due to its experience working with industry, government, and educational institutions, the hard motivation within education is what makes our purpose and solution unique as well as we come from different part of Mexico south to north, with this we understand what is need and how. We all love education from that point of view, we are creating a disruptive project, and Edtech Start-Up with an eye towards a social impact.
Examples of our team motivation in education are: participated as Mexican selected in 2019 in the Pacific Alliance summit “The Future of work” powered by Nestlé, research internships in 4 Research centers in Mexico, 3 times winners of “Engineering Inspiration Award” in Mexico and USA of FIRST Robotics League, being part of state, national, international science contests, participated in Educational Congress such as International Congress of Education Research and Innovation by CIECAL & CIIIE by Tec and experience in 5 states in Mexico with education programs.
Since the beginning of Labgo we partnered with CEMEX, Institute of Youth of Guadalupe City in Nuevo León and UANL, this help us to continue develop the solution.
From that we are creating new partnerships, later on in 2020 we will be working with the Institute of Youth of Guadalupe City, by collaborating in a STEM program for the public schools in Guadalupe, reaching schools, we are looking forward to collaborate with Softtek in their STEM program at home.
We plan on working with Institute of Youth Nuevo León state by creating STEM workshops and currently we are part of the Monterrey Digital Hub, in which we are looking forward to collaborating elbow by elbow with corporate businesses around the hub, such as Deacero, Lamosa and CEMEX.
Labgo has two strategies on providing STEM education.
Labgo Series, this is a Laboratory at home in which clients can buy these kits by unit. Every kit there are over 20 to 60 STEM experiments at a starting price, this will be for the B2B strategy.

“Programa de innovación” is a monthly delivery subscription box, in which we will ship random experiments (from 2 to 3 experiments), mysterious STEM box, which includes the specific material for the experiments and manual. As well as STEM-related items such as stickers, posters, bottoms, etc.
Once the clients (B2C) order the first month, we will them the Labgo "Instrumentation kit”, with essential material in order to complete every experiment.

In both cases there is the interaction with the digital tool the Labgo App, with AR tech and conoce+ section, the connection along the material, manual and app.
By making these business model, we ensure to have more interaction with our clients, with the two main points spoken before, “what our users & clients need and want” and “accessibility and comfort”.
Every move in Labgo once we have economic resource is ready to face sustainability within (1) well-planned marketing strategies with return, (2) potential partnerships with the Triple Helix aiming to have a greater outreach and (3) Well-manufactured products with quality, this translate that we have specific amount of resources in order to create and innovate and (4) Commitment of our talent.
Participate and be able to win grand and prizes to accelerate our business development due to economic resources.
Recognition from the best institutions in the world in this case MIT, Tec de Monterrey and University of Andes will potentially make our product the best in LATAM, due to the solution proposed, especially in the educational sector in which by making a collaboration will increase the chances of acceptance and improvement.
Tec de Monterrey is ranked the 1st in Mexico being the best institution in business and development, for that, our box goes beyond a simple box, our manual goes with an innovative app and the material is being produces with quality and sustainability, for that we look forward to have the mentorship from Tec de Monterrey, for that once to we get our Labgo Series in educational institution within the public and private system being recognized by the TPrizes will increase our chances of partnerships.
