Future Anything
- Pre-Seed
Future Anything Learning connects young people to tutors online. Future Anything Coaching utilises the same technology to connect young people to psychologists, guidance officers, counsellors and life coaches. As a social enterprise, profits support tutoring and coaching young people connected with our partner, Act for Kids.
There is a clear link between socio economic disadvantage and educational outcomes. The Mitchell Institute found:
· 74 % of young Australians have attained Year 12 or equivalent by age 19; meaning 81,000 young people have not.
· Only 43% and 56% of very remote and remote students complete Year 12, compared to 78% of students in cities.
· Only 61% of the most disavantaged students complete school, compared to 89% of the most advantaged.
· By tracking all 25 to 44 year olds from 2001-2014 we found that almost 90% of men and 82% of women who had not completed Year 12 did not return to study and training.
Studies by educational psychologist Benjamin Bloom found that students receiving private tuition performed 98% above those taught in the normal classroom.
Kurt VanLehn a Professor at Arizona State University, published a paper in 2011 which found that on average students who had received tutoring improved by 0.79 standard deviations. It could mean moving a student from a low D to a good C, or a low B to a good A grade.
Future Anything provides effective, affordable, attainable access to personalised support for all young people.

1. Our platform integrates 1-1 video and Google log in for a smooth, user friendly experience, including Google Calendar Integration.
2. Our Profiles have short introductory videos allowing young people to 'get to know' the experts they'll be working with.
3. Our platform integrates LinkedIn, allowing professionals to expand their networks.
4. Our platform allows students to submit assessment drafts for feedback that is provided through 1-1 video conferencing.
5. Our solution has the potential to scale into other forms of personalised support and worldwide.
For students who don't have access to tutoring, can't afford tutoring and/or don't have adults in their world that can offer support, it can be easy to fall behind and disengage from education.
Future Anything makes tutoring and personal support accessible, affordable and attainable for all young people; empowering students to make meaningful mentoring relationships with experts that can support them.
Future Anything has great potential to reach even the most rural and remote parts of Australia, in addition to the ability to scale in order to connect overseas young people with tutors in Australia and vice versa.
Future Anything is a web platform first, with the ability to be readily transformed into an App.
All communities need is an internet enabled device and they can access a wide range of experts.
In partnership with The Aboriginal Corporation of West Coast Cape York Peninsula Traditional Land Owners (WCTO) and the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services, Act for Kids operates safe houses in Aurukun, Kowanyama, Napranum and Pormpuraaw.
Owing to our partnership with Act for Kids, we have an excellent means to effect real change by giving young people access to these life changing resources.

Due to the nature of the platform, the majority of our operating costs are variable and will only rise with increased income production. The 20% service fee covers payment gateway, video conferencing, and hosting expenses; with estimated expenditure being 25% of the profit margin. The company currently has no wage expenses or loan interest repayments. Both co-founders have moved from full time work to consulting/ sole trader; providing a more flexible working arrangement. In line with our target goals, we project a growth of 250 tutors per term in 2018. With each tutor averaging four lessons per week over 10 week terms, and an average lesson rate of $50, income production from our service fee equates to $1M in the first year.
We have restricted access to funds to complete the web and app development which impedes our ability to launch the platform with all features functional. This limits our potential to make profit and reinvest back into in our web development and marketing budget. Currently, neither of the co-founders are from a tech background, so this may prove a barrier in the future.

Future Anything began because we wanted to leverage technology to make educational and personal success attainable for every young person in Australia.
We believe that by working within a like minded community of leaders and changemakers who have the resources and expertise required, we can create a far greater, more purposeful impact on those who need this technology most.
We're 85% ready to launch. We're ready to take advantage of Solve to finish our development and empower young people everywhere to be their Future Anything.
We have a partnership with Act for Kids in order to use a portion of our profits to provide free tutoring and mentorship to young people connected with their national not for profit organisation.
