Removing plastic from hot fill containers

Removal of the need for plastic coating from hot & cold fill cups

Using a fully recyclable and locally manufactured paper, which is currently made extensively across the globe

Firstly, removing the need for significant amounts of plastic coating, local manufacture and the ability of recycling with sophisticated equipment & chemicals. Also  the removal vast quantities of micro plastics which are created during conventional conversion and recovery of fibres. 

Speed and reuse of such cups allows for biodegredation or reuse as compost with leaving plastic within the environment.

Overall providing a solution which can be made closer to the home market, thereby reducing the carbon foot[print, and by removing the need for secondary plastci coating & conversion of the base sheet, increases the ability for manufacture .

Being UK based we have zero impact upon any local comunity, however having spent many years working as a specialist for global companies on fibre recovery and coatings, specifically for packaging, food & drink, we are acutely aware of just how simple it is to replace plastic coatings from current materials, often by simply identifying and using alternative grades of paper/board.

Creation of micro plastics during recycling of plastic coated fibreboard, in that there are zero accounts that these are created, and passed out with the water phase, being commercially too expensive to remove chemically/ thermally.

Relatively, by employing a new grade of paper, which can easily be produced more locally, employment opportunities increase, whilst reducing carbon emmission - transport miles under current process conditions

Simply by providing the guidance as to which paper/fibreboard grade  is suitable, and as these grade are manufactured to an international standard, can be manufactured by adapting processing conditions without any major increase (if at all) to existing equipment.

Conversion into cup, will require a simple change to the glueing system, to one which is universally available, thereby causing little disruption to any logistics during transformation period..

This system / technique can also be employed for food & storage containers where hydrophobicity & air/gas resistance is needed.

Having identified an alternative paper/board grade, it is just simply informing such manufactures of this, and provide the tecnical advise to enable them to adjust the process equipment & test methods accordingly.

Using a working seminar would be sufficient to deliver sufficient information to deliver this solution.

In the event that this solution is not accepted, we will immediately contact major coffee chains to present the solution - the intention is that they have the commercial and environmental position to create the change

Until this solution request, this project has only been in our minds for several years, which after having worked for many years within both the paper & plastics industry, is formulated and has indentied a host of environmental, commercial and practical solutions, that are provided by simply changing the base paper

Everything else is in place as we are keen just to ensure that each programme requires only remote support,as this allows us time to concentrate on supporting each specific project

Persistence - as we have already spent several years creating , testing, modifying and verifying each project, we are more than happy to continue with our purpose of delivering ready made and easily exicutable solutions relative to local economic finances and capabilities

Currently we have zero local knowledge or contact - however we do have several immediate solutions, that can be employed by local agents with a vested interest in the particular need.

Having spent many years working as a  specialist /expert  in both plastics and paper, particularly with "sticky plastic" control for major global chemical companies, during with time over 5 years was spent attempting to entice paper cup manufactures to switch to coated solutions, I believe we are more than well placed to deliver a practical solution.

Currently zero - although if this solution is deened unacceptable, it will be delivered to as many major coffee suppliers as is practical

Our model is to use seminars or meetings to deliver our solutuons - thereafter provide immediate & regular support remotely

Our projects start from a position of using our IP, and not be beholdant to commercial influence.

Due to the significance and potential of all of our projects to date our major partners, such as  major UK tourist locations, university many major finances & expenses have always  been provided FOC or by donations to research

In future we see revenue coming via an agreed service support income, and not via percentages or up front investments

To deliver an immediate solution to a platform of interested parties capable of fulfilling the request.

Having spent many years approaching major institutions/ organisations/ ngo's we have experienced considerable reluctance to accept change, as invariably the contact is often not in a position to influence or deliver such radical changes of such monumental impact (FEAR of the unknown)

Any organsisations with a "VOICE" to influence and initiate change.

Our role will be to provide the information to ensure continuity, and speak about the each programme both as an expert, but more importantly in practical terms
