"Odyssey" for HR development & employee engagement
- Pre-Seed
ODYSSEY is a customized hospitality exchange program for employees within multinational companies (with big workforce, distributed across countries/ continents). Employees can travel the world "for less", in their free time, by sharing own resources and cooperation, with colleagues and employer, increasing cultural awareness, learning languages, improving social skills etc.
Many young employees act disengaged, inflexible and biased... Big companies might benefit, on the short term, from mass recruiting mostly young people. But problems arise if employees are not helped to develop at personal level. The key to having an engaged workforce is building/ maintaining healthy habits among that workforce.
Through my proposal
- I suggest an innovative approach to help increase motivation to learn (and learning as a habit) and skills development (that will drive adaptability, critical thinking, cultural awareness) for young employees around the world
- My proposal ensures equal access and inclusion of all genders and people.
"Change occurs when one becomes what he is, not when he tries to become what he is not." Frederick Perls
Odyssey program is designed to help employees become what they are: sociable human beings, with a thirst for learning and knowing/ understanding/ meeting THE OTHER/ other cultures and ready to exchange their resources (hospitality) for development gains.
Odyssey is based on a “sharing economy” model, in which "unused value is wasted value" - namely the employees have the opportunity to use their unused resources (home/ hospitality) for personal development purposes (so that some value is added to their lives).
Big companies will have better workplaces.
Employees will have improved skills.

- Something so new it doesn’t have a name
1. INCREASED SAFETY - EMPLOYERS hold DATA/records of their EMPLOYEES and thus Odyssey as an internal, closed, network will have a perceived increased safety in comparison with any other open network (note that all other existing online hospitality exchange networks have some issues regarding safety)
2. CUSTOMIZED INTERNAL MARKETING & COMMUNICATION PLAN (upon agreement) to stimulate exchanges within the Odyssey network: EPIC and AWESOME content pouring in from users| Build a thriving community around the idea of hospitality exchange| Prizes for sharing the experiences, writing contests | Establishing groups/forums on passions etc.
This is a solution that starts, ends, and involves the people for which it is designed.
The program will be offered as a benefit, from the employer. Enrollment in the program is voluntarily.

The plan is to find support for taking it to the next level - building a business plan, recruiting a team, designing an MVP.
