The online school for social impact
- Pre-Seed
The 21st century standard for online social impact education.
We create videos with the best teachers we can find, to help individuals, teams and schools learn practical ways to make impact happen.
Impact education is scaling up: Accelerators, universities and private organisations around the world launching social enterprise and social impact courses.
For the people who can't afford to attend these institutions we provide university-grade education from the best practitioners in the world: Impact investors, philanthropists, founders and professionals.
For education institutions, we fill the gap in their syllabus and content delivery, so they can concentrate on building community and supporting their students.
We're help to build a generation of well educated social entrepreneurs.
Our cheap, accessible resources don't compromise on quality, and empower individual learners and education institutions to thrive.
We've been creating physical social impact accelerators for years, most recently an award winning, in-curriculum social enterprise course at Australia's Monash University.
But we're obsessed with scale, and have gone online to help people around the world. To quote James from a New Zealand non-profit: "This is the best lean thinking resource I've found, especially as someone from the NFP sector. Loving it."
Our three key users:
1) Young people who want to create social impact, either at school or in their own time.
2) Existing social impact organisations (non profits, foundations, etc)
3) Teaching organisations: Either small accelerators, universities, or inter-organisation communities of practice.
We deploy the same way to everyone: Online. By being ruthlessly focussed on online delivery we can keep quality high and have massive scope for impact.
We track engagement rates in a CRM / analytics platform online. - Content engagement: Students watching lesson and using the content.
We simply speak to organisation leaders to learn what does and doesn't work. - More existing impact orgs using our platform to change their practice.
Our platform has team management for engaging student groups at scale. We can build analytics into this as we go. - Teaching organisations

We're the first (and only) dedicated online social impact school in the world.
Our main unique capability is our efficient ability to help any skilled professional to create great online teaching, through the processes and technology we've developed over the last two years.
We've been at the forefront of impact education for years, combined with a deep background in technology driven solutions to complex problems.
Our technology team will continue to use whatever technology is most appropriate to further the mission.
We're such a user-driven organisation that we have made lessons to teach teach other people how to be user-centric! :)
We're constantly testing our software, teaching and methods with underserved communities and their supporters around the world.
Our partners in impact accelerators within universities like Social Velocity and Leave No One Behind help us remain relevant to young people.
All our users access content online.
In practice, different users access the content in different ways - as part of a course, within an organisation, or alone.
By keeping our costs incredibly low, we support bulk purchasing by larger organisations for their communities. Many users never need a credit card.
Universities and accelerators distribute access to their cohorts, and people in the communities those cohorts work with.

Our sustainability strategy is "small team, big impact."
Our horizontal scale works through implementation partners, communities of practice and self-support autonomous groups of learners.
Our financial model is 'Netflix style', at around $7USD / user / month. We would like to make this cost even lower as we scale out internationally.
Currently we are funded through key institutional early adopters: A CSR fund at a technology company, and a local University.
Our biggest hurdles presently are: cashflow, reach, access to teachers.
Cash: Like most digital-first startups we aim to run at a consistent, mangeable loss until we reach scale. We would also prefer to avoid venture capital and the mission-altering risks it brings.
Reach: In the future we expect to see issues around internationalisation, multi-language and cultural appropriateness, as well as larger scale physical classroom support.
Teachers: We need access to more, higher quality teachers to keep our teaching high quality and relevant.

We are obsessed with scale. We currently have 3 people working a 3.5 day week in Melbourne, but we believe we are capable of much bigger things.
While we have the technical and creative skill to do our work, Solve has the right networks, people, and access to leaders that we have been craving.
Telstra Foundation: Helping everyone have the opportunity to be brilliant with digital. Our primary non-profit partner and seed funder.
Monash University: Helping young people to change the world. First larger pilot tertiary education partner.
