In today’s fast paced society, a huge portion of the population are being left alone and they’re our senior citizens. After spending most of their life serving for society and family, suddenly they are left alone. Life becomes a constant struggle without companionship or helping hand and lack of purpose and quality time soon sets off depression that starts killing them from inside. The solution is, ForUs. ForUs is a mobile platform to make help possible and easy for companionship, tasks, healthcare, information and opportunity, a community, and much more for seniors anytime anywhere. When a senior or someone who takes care of them requests for a service, the system will notify nearby or relevant registered helpers depending on the type of service requested thus creating employment for young students. With millions of seniors’ lives to change, we’re bridging two generations to make each other’s lives better. 

Senior citizens are leading a hard life in our fast paced world. There are around 15 million senior citizens in Bangladesh and 48 million in the U.S. according to The Daily Star and census.gov. Life becomes a constant struggle for them without companionship or helping hand. In many cases, people who are close to them want to take care of them, but they are unable to manage time from their busy life. Moreover, many senior citizens have the potential and intention to use their knowledge and experience but they are unable to find scopes to make themselves useful again. On the contrary, many of them wants to spend time by listening to or reading about religious or other information they like. But they don’t have enough skill to surf around the internet and find them. In short, they become helplessly trapped. Lack of purpose and quality time soon sets off deep depression that starts killing them from inside before their body is ready to give up. And the fact that over 3 million of the seniors in a developed country like the U.S. are clinically diagnosed with depression, gives a clear call for urgency. 

ForUs is developing a sustainable solution to bridge two generations to make each other's lives better.Our goal is to make the lives of senior citizens (people ageing 60 or above) happier and convenient. Initially we'll start with Dhaka having around 1.6million seniors.Although the seniors are going to be our end consumers, in lot of the scenarios we are expecting the people who takes care of them such as their children or friends and families to order the services on our platform for the seniors.We have been in touch with multiple families with senior citizens and we have talked about our services not only with the seniors but also their family members. Moreover, we have a specialist gerontologist on our team who is helping us to tailor our services in the best way possible. Our solution addresses the needs for 

companionship, tasks, healthcare, information and opportunity, a community, and much more for seniors anytime anywhere which we have been co-creating with senior citizens, their family member, specialists in the field who have experience of nearly a decade and also the youth (service providers) to make sure of the quality and effectiveness of the service and the proper functioning of our platform.

ForUs is a mobile platform to make help possible and easy for tasks, companionship, healthcare, information and opportunity, a community, and much more for seniors anytime anywhere. 

When a user requests a service, the system will notify nearby or relevant registered helpers depending on the type of service requested.User can request for a volunteer (for a limited time) or a paid helper depending on his/her economic condition thus a step against social injustice based on economy is taken. Besides the mobile application, we are going to have a hotline so that our seniors can avail services even if they are not comfortable with mobile applications.

•Get a helping hand:A senior can request for help to get a task done.For example, one can request to buy and deliver groceries or any supplies or any other tasks that can be troublesome for an elderly person.

•Get a companion:A senior can get a companion from this platform.A companion can be for coming to his/her place and talk or for joining with him/her for travel. A senior can also request to talk with a companion over phone or video call. Moreover, he/she will be able to choose the companion by seeing details and search by filters like age range and backgrounds.

•Get a writer:Seniors are full of experience and life lessons and if they want to put them in writing, this platform will be there to find someone to make that happen.

•Get food:A senior can request for food and the request will be sent to organizations that work to ensure food for seniors thus eliminating hassles of searching for our user. Moreover,a senior can request for his favorite dish which he/she is unable to cook now.Maybe a person next door can make his/her day!

•Get professional caregiver. (requires extra fee on each order over monthly subscription fee)

•Finding appropriate jobs for senior citizens based on their particular skill set.

•Finding events that are targeted for senior citizens(+alert services, nearby shelters during disasters)

•Getting a collection of information on interested topics such as news, songs and movies.

•Helping to get connected with other senior citizens

•Tele-medicine and Helping to find an appropriate doctor(requires extra fee on each order over monthly subscription fee)

•Finding different types of services such as plumbing, cleaning, repairing(requires extra fee on each order over monthly subscription fee)

I have been working with social business for over 2 years through many national and international programs. Besides being an engineering graduate I have also studied Business Management- Entrepreneurship in the United States under a scholarship program from the U.S. government because of my works in the field of social business and entrepreneurship. I believe my experience in developing sustainable solution will bring great value as the CEO and the fact that I realized the pain point of the problem we are targeting personally when I was abroad through the suffering of my own parents creates a huge personal motivation to make this venture a reality. 

Besides me I have a dedicated team for management and application development which will go a long way in materializing the MVP and work towards being the next big venture while solving a crucial social problem 

I am already in partnership with a major student organization to develop the service providers. Along with that I am working in relation with another major organization who have been working for the betterment of lives for our seniors for nearly a decade. Because of these collaborations I am able to develop the infrastructure of our services effectively.
