Business of recycling and turning waste into resource

There is no proper waste management in Bangladesh. Landfills are managed in improper way and we are not very much familiar with waste materials. Due to improper waste management, there creates various kinds of problem of our health and environment.

In our daily life we through away too many things that can recycle & reuse. We collect these types of materials from cleaning and other ways.

Our business includes organic recycling to make fertilizer, recycling of plastic to make various products, turn plastic into cloths, turn polymer waste into diesel and to paving road.

By waste recycling business we factually mean recycling and waste management, controlling and channeling all sorts of everyday wastes and garbage in a way that will not create any problem of any magnitude to both our health and our environment and obtain economic benefit.

Its affect almost on all peoples. In-front of every house, every street, every canal, every lake we see garbage. It is very harmful for everyone's life.

 In 2014, it is estimated that Bangladesh generated 23,688 tons per day in its urban areas. At the same time the total urban population of Bangladesh has been increasing, from 20.8 million in 1991 to 32.76 million in 2005 to 41.94 million in 2014 due to rapid urbanization. The total urban population is estimated to be as high as 78.44 million by 2025, and the total waste generation is expected to reach 47,000 tons per day. There is an obvious link between greater amounts of waste generated and a higher urban population. Interestingly, since 2005 the rate of change of total waste generated daily has exceeded the rate of change of the population growth, due to an increased average daily per capita waste generation rate.

Bangladesh's strong suit is manpower. We don't have a lack of it. And we don't have that many skilled worker. But sorting and cleaning waste to recycle is not skilled based job. We have so many people unemployed doing nothing. If they are given chance to earn a decent money they will take it. This is where recycling comes in. The industry will require a huge number of worker to sort, collect and clean waste to recycle. This in turn will give them opportunity to earn wages. In 2016 24.3% of the population lived under the poverty line. This is will be their opportunity to rise over and making a more productive population.

Firstly we have to build plants and recycle center that can recycle almost every items from our daily lives and turn waste into resource.

Waste should be collect from source point such as household, shop, industry etc. After collection of waste it handling in a specific location for the sorting  with their category such as organic waste, plastic waste etc.  

Recycling of plastic waste:

After washing then the plastic waste carried to recycle zone for the further use such as toys, plastic tubs, plastic cans, plastic bottles, IR plastic solar cell etc.

Production of bio-gas from organic waste.

As bio-gas is difficult to transport to customers interested in this fuel, so our company pursues a strategy to directly use this gas in our own bakery. The bakery oven is therefore fueled with bio-gas from anaerobic digestion of organic waste and the product sold to customers is bread.

Our plans to use the resulting compost for their own agricultural fields rather than selling compost to customers. The value product sold to customers is cotton and sesame seeds cultivated on their fields which are fertilized and amended by compost.

We use digester that can yield 800m3 of bio-gas per tons of waste. 

Plastic to Make Road

When mixed with hot bitumen, plastics melt to form an oily coat over the aggregate and the mixture is laid on the road surface like a normal tar road and     is   found    to   give   higher strength, higher   resistance to water   and   better performance over a period of time.

The First step is to shred the bottles into tiny pieces

For the shredded bits to start their transformation into something that can be used again. This happens with a machine called an extruder. The plastic is heated and forced through tiny holes which resembles something like a showerhead to create fibers.. Next, they are torn apart into short pieces so the fiber isn't continuous strands. It's then bailed and is finally ready to be turned into yarn. At this point the fiber very closely resembles wool

Carding is a machine that aligns all the fibers in the same direction, and then a spinning machine that actually makes the yarn.

Then the yarn can be woven into fabric, completing its cycle from bottle to fabric, creating a useful product out something that can quite often get tossed into the trash.

In our country, there few already existing companies those are recycle materials, but those are in some specific sectors. But our concept comprise various sectors. Not only emphasize on recycling but also emphasize on obtaining energy. This concept ensure the best utilization (100%) of waste.

Our expectation is we can reduce the size of our landfills. By utilizing waste products, we can slowly decrease the size of our landfills and the amount of pollution. Reducing the size of our landfills can also help conserve natural resources such as water, minerals, coal, oil, gas, and timber.

We can use our resources to create more jobs.

This procedure helps in reducing the consumption of natural resources while lowering the ultimate waste disposal challenges.

Environmental pollution will be reduced by this business

Aside from the environmental benefits, this concept is also beneficial to health. Waste removal from public areas can reduce risks to overall health, while also decreasing the public’s exposure to biohazards and reduce infestations of pests. So health cost will also be reduced.

Finally we expect a healthy and eco-friendly society by this business.

To make Bangladesh neat & clean. We have to work together, need a team that will work like volunteer. Build recycling plant there need so many workers, and for collecting materials, make awareness of people, and others, there can opportunities for lots of people. We need more and more people.

1) Ans: Almost all type of people will be benefited by this business. First we start our business in Tangail. The total population of tangail sadar is 521,104.Farmers will be benefited by obtaining organic fertilizer. Biogas will be supplied in the village of Santush, Tangail. Oil from waste will be used in transport. We also hope we can construct about 10 km road in which plastic waste will be used as a raw material. So people will be benefited by various way

2) Ans: We hope we can spread our business.We hope about 1 million people will be benefited by our buisness.

Goals within the next year

We can build up awareness among people about recycle and reuse of waste.

We can run our business successfully.

We can establish all sectors of our business like recycling, fertilizer from waste, bio-gas from waste, oil from waste, fiber from waste etc.

We can establish our showroom of plastic recycle products and cloths that come from plastic manufactured fiber.

Goals within the next 5 year

We can open many branches of our showroom of plastic recycle products and cloths that come from plastic made fiber in divisional cities of our country.

We can increase the use of organic fertilizer that come from organic waste.

Bio-gas will be supplied all household of our city in which natural gas is not supplied.

We expect we can make our country or city on top most clean, peaceful and livable within next five years.

Illegal dumping has been found in many areas

There has been a lot of money wasted due to numerous failed collection systems. Sometimes, large numbers of containers and collection. Vehicles have been purchased, yet they have only been in operation for short periods of time or the efficiency of the system hardly beats the all-in-one. The main reason for this is because waste collection is being viewed as a one-size-fits-all situation, when, in fact, local factors have a big impact. These factors include the climate, attitudes and expectations of citizens, economic factors, animals, type of waste, financial planning and purchasing, legislation, and architecture and infrastructure.

Work together should be main concern, as this country is our. We have to do, it is not possible- that someone will come and clean all the messes in one day by miracle.We all have to understand the loss of health mind and also financial.

Our main problem is that there is no awareness among people about waste management. So it is our first priority to build up awareness among people. Environment related club named “Raising Awareness for Conservation of Environment (RACE)” of our university will take necessary innovative program to build up awareness among people.

Then we effort in improvement of waste collection system.We introduce a system in which people use 3 different colored container for dispose of waste, such as organic waste in green colored container, plastic in yellow colored container and hazardous waste like medical waste in red colored container. This ensure the best utilization of waste

It's just a concept, still now no people in work.

We are the students of Environmental Science and Resource Management. We always feel we should do something that will be beneficial for our environment. We love our country. Our country has many environmental problem. But we have a dream. That is we have an eco-friendly society.

In this concept none, but trying to start up.

The recycling business is an eco-friendly business. The recycling industry has become an integral part of modern society not only due to its social and economic impact but also because it plays a vital role for the future of our planet. 

In this business, raw material is waste. In 2014, it is estimated that Bangladesh generated 23,688 tons per day in its urban areas. So it is available. Day by day it is increasing.

There is only one major revenue stream in place: the waste collection fee from households, commercial enterprises and institutions. As the efficiency of fee collection from households is only around 50%, the total amount of revenues are not sufficient to cover the running costs. This results in a substantial yearly deficit.

There are a number of options, including increasing the share of general municipal income that is allotted to solid waste management, increasing the portion of users who pay local charges or taxes, and increasing tariff values.

We present four options on how financial sustainability of the business might be enhanced:

 (i) Improved fee collection efficiency by linking the fees of solid waste collection to water supply

(ii) Increasing the value chain by sales of organic waste recycling products;

(iii) Diversifying revenue streams and financing mechanisms (polluter-pays-, cross-subsidy- and business-principles)

 (iv) Cost reduction and improved cost-effectiveness

To create healthy environment, to change the view of people, to change standard of living.

Currently I don't have any organization's name in mind, but I would expect local administration will co-operate with us.
