Eshara
30 Million People in Bangladesh currently suffer from Hearing Disability. Lack of proper initiatives and scarcity of adept trainers induces a further disadvantage for this community, leading to an Insufficient Outreach of Bangla Sign Language Education. Through Eshara we introduce an Open E-Learning Platform catering an Interactive Education Mechanism at the ease of their home through our Experienced & Skilled Trainers. Designated Outreach Programs will be designed for Offline use through Subsidiaries in the form of Books and License. We also aim to strengthen the niche through our Specialized Community Support Operation, where upon Completion of Course individuals will be provided the opportunity to Join as Trainers and also be trained further on Digital Economy Courses. As a result upon Mastering particular skills candidates will be bridged towards Specific Job Opportunities acting towards their Empowerment. Currently we are working in association with Society of Deaf and Sign Language Users (SDSL).
In Bangladesh currently 30 Million people belong to the Deaf and Mute Community. The amount of resources available for them is simply disappointing as currently there is only one sole organization called SDSL (Society of the Deaf and Sign Language Users) working towards this purpose. Also in the entire country there are only 7 government schools that teach Bangla Sign Language that too with Adept Number of Skilled Trainers. Along with this community their families suffer likewise as there are no flexible platforms through which they can learn Bangla Sign Language. Upon our analysis we determined a significant proportion of this population are Unemployed. Even with the Talent, they do not receive available opportunities making them a burden of the society. They are looked down upon because they are disabled, but was it their choice? No, they were born with it and we are developing a platform that will provide them with the necessary opportunities, strengthening their community making them EQUAL in the society.
In order to understand the community better we carried out a two-fold market research. Through our Offline survey we understood the present mindset of the General Public towards this Community and also the Exposure of Bangla Sign Language. The results were Disappointing as 71% of the participants did not know Bangla Sign Language whereas 29% did not that Dedicated Bangla Sign Language existed. Acting to our concern we went in for the Offline Approach where we directly reached out to the people most affected, identifying the core sources of Involvement including SDSL, HiCare and the Government Schools. Through the process we reached out to 347 Individuals, personally interacted with them to understand their needs, problems in the existing method and their expectations from Eshara. From our analysis we also figured that the level of literacy is Minimal as 73% know only the Basics of Sign Language with little knowledge of the Intermediate and Advanced Education. The main constraint identified in the Conventional Method is that as the Education is provided through an Offline Process individuals have to be present physically to Learn Bangla Sign Language. Eshara provides a Flexible Online Platform teaching Bangla Sign Language from the Ease of Your Home.
Eshara is the first ever open learning platform teaching bangla sign language, grooming them with advanced educational courses in specific fields of expertise and thus connecting the Deaf and Mute Community towards feasible Job Opportunities.Through Eshara we introduce an Open E-Learning Platform catering an Interactive Education Mechanism at the ease of their home through our Experienced & Skilled Trainers. As a result upon Mastering particular skills candidates will be bridged towards Specific Job Opportunities acting towards their Empowerment. Concerning our Exposure we intend to adapt a Partnership Marketing Strategy, Collaborating with Ministry of Social Welfare, UN Enable and National Federation of the Deaf. Currently we are working in association with Society of Deaf and Sign Language Users (SDSL). Our Mobile Application is currently in Beta Testing Phase with our Website Up and Running.
In order to understand the market and our consumer base we have already carried out diversified Offline as well as Online Campaigns. Firstly we identified the core sources which involved the institutions currently associated with the purpose including Government Schools and SDSL. Through the process we personally reached out to 347 individuals and received insights regarding the existing process as well as specific feedback regarding their needs. We intend to reach out further by introducing Awareness Campaigns and Workshops in designated locations to receive proper exposure whilst highlighting the need for Eshara.
