Competitive Programming Editorial

The problem that we are committed to solve is for competitive programmers to search editorials of competitive programming problems.

There is no platform that is dedicated to solving this issue. Again, googling solution does not always help. Also, in discussion platform of popular OJs, low rated programmers are often ignored. As a result, many of them become demotivated and leave competitive programming after a certain period of time.

To help programmers of all levels, we plan to build a community through a website that invokes its members to post quality editorials, better discussion platform and tools to assist in competitive programming.

This should increase the number of skilled programmers in our country that would positively impact the software industry of Bangladesh. Again, different sectors of Bangladesh require software engineers. So, increased number of skilled software engineers will facilitate faster and better solutions that can positively impact the life and economy.

The problem we are dealing with is the problem of finding and discussing solutions of programming problems. And it is found in a considerable scale in the competitive programmers community. According to a survey that we conducted, about 35% were satisfied with availability of solutions and only 18% were satisfied with its quality. The rest were not. Again, more than 60% students rely on internet for solution.

There are approximately 2000 active competitive programmers in Bangladesh and more than 8000 programmers who are somewhat active in this field. So, more than 6400 Bangladeshi programmers face difficulty to find solution materials on internet.

Now, through our platform, we can build a community that can help each other with solutions. 

Our targeted audience is the programmers who are at least interested in competitive programming. All of our teammates are programmers and we belong to the programmers community. We have conducted survey using google docs to learn more about their problems.

Our solution will directly address their needs by providing them resources and better discussion platform.

We are plannig to build a website.

In that website, registered users can post editorials, participate in discussion of solution and utilize miscelleneous features.

Our website will have provision for earning points (similar to stackoverflow). We will not rate programmers based on their performance on online judges and so this should keep the platform prejudice free.

To build the website, we will use html, css, bootstrap and js for front end, C# for backend and MS SQL for database.
