I am trying to solve a learning problem in my country.I believe one thing and that is “Knowledge = Learning + Doing”.

But In Bangladesh,Science education is another name of terror to the students. Especially to the students of high school. This situation is even worse in the rural and remote regions of our country.

The only reason behind this is lack of practical approach to learn science. Though a few institutions have adequate lab facility, most of the institutes doesn’t have those facilities.

So my plan is to help learn science in the right way, through experiments. I want to work on solutions which will help to fulfill the lack of Lab facilities and other problems they are facing in learning science.I believe, when students are enjoying science, they can give us breakthrough ideas and innovations which will help to make our country and the world a better place.

What is the problem you are solving?

Approximately,there are 23500+ high schools in our country and it's a matter of hope that students in my country are very much interested about science. Majority of the students in High School level choose Science group as their major. So this is very much important for us that we are getting a lot of students involved with science.

But reality is, for some reasons, we are unable to provide the right combination of teaching pedagogy. When we can provide them a good textbook, we are unable to provide them proper laboratory setup and other facilities like computer labs with a decent internet connectivity.

For an example,I have seen in an institution that, a student is writing codes in paper while it'll be better to be compiled on a laptop or computer for better understanding.

So I think,my idea is going to help them a lot. Just think,If a student can perform an experiment successfully or a student can write a program in an IDE and compile it successfully, what is going to happen in our country in upcoming days? We are going to get world class scientists and problem solvers who are going to transform our country and the world.

Who are you serving?

Bangladesh has almost 163.05 million of population.For a country like Bangladesh, it's a huge number to provide them all the facilities.But we can think it in a different way.

The number of students studying in our country is huge. It's even larger than the population of some developed countries in the world. only in the high schools,almost 7 million students are enrolled (Wikipedia).If we can give our students proper support, they are more than enough to solve our all problems.

So I am planning to set up my work plan in these steps.

1.Going to form a team with my friends who are going to help me.

2. Analyze the textbooks with the help of my team to sort out the topics we will work on to help students learn better.

3.We will talk with teachers, students and other relevant individuals to understand their problems and needs through an online survey system.

4.After collecting information, my team will work to find the best way to help them with cost effective solutions.

5.After the solution is ready, we will handover it to them with proper instruction manual and will counsel them if need be.

What is your solution?

As our main objective is to provide students all the support they need to learn science related subjects in a practical way, we are mainly focusing on to develop the solutions in a cost effective way. Because we have to provide support to almost a huge number of students.

So,here are some possible product or services we can provide the students:

1. At first,Collecting all the necessary equipment needed for the experiment.Equipments can be bought from market otherwise if possible,make them with the help of the students to get them familiarize with DIY (Do It Yourself) concept.

2. Students will need a lot of information to carry out an experiment.For this, we can set up library with all the books and resources needed.Anyone can donate books or money to enrich further. students can borrow books from the library. It'll be better if subscription of online libraries can be managed. In a word, the objective is to set up an enriched up-to-date database system for the students.

3. Computing Devices like computers,notebooks and in some cases scientific calculators are crucial for learning topics of science.Usually these devices are very costly.sometimes students from low income family can't afford them.This thing creates a great barrier to learning. So overcome this we can take the following steps:

We can buy adequate amount of scientific calculators or develop a software solution to replace the scientific calculator.Which will be cost effective.

As regular computers and notebooks are costly, we can use the Raspberry platform to help students with computing. Raspberry will provide great portability and less energy consumption. which will help to minimize the cost margin.

4. A decent information system connected with a network backbone with each laboratory to share information flawlessly.

5.Setting up students club which will organize seminars/workshops to help students to grow their skills.

6. To create an online based platform, where different educational institutes like universities, online education providers will be linked on, as the students can learn new skills any time or connect with experts to discuss any topic.

7. We can make a research lab where students can work on their own ideas. It will help the students to develop a mindset of discovering something new and boost the ability of thinking outside the box.

8.Lastly but the more important, always guide them,motivate them to learn anything properly. Make them properly understood about their responsibility to themselves and society.
