The current education system costs extra efforts and/or time from students, teachers, guardians, home tutors, and coaching center teachers. Besides, rural students are not getting a skilled teacher as urban students in schools or colleges. Hence, they are also migrating to cities. However, It's also very tough to learn different conceptual problems from pictures and written manuscripts by a student with textbooks or even from the class lectures.
To solve these problems, I'm proposing an electronic device containing a lot of short videos, animations, IT tools, texts, etc. to explore every topic very clearly and examining student capability regularly.
Applying this solution, I expect:
- Students get some spare time after regular classes
- Every student from urban and cities will get equal quality education
- Home tutors or coaching center teachers can concentrate on their study and creative works
- Guardians can save and invest their money and efforts on other jobs
BANBEIS reported the drop-out rate for the secondary level (grade 6 to 10) and higher secondary level are 44.65% and 21.80% respectively. Parents are spending 3 times more money on shadow education compared to tuition fees. As 64% of people are living in rural areas, students from this portion are not getting qualified teachers like urban. Again, about 24.3% of the population is living under poverty lines, who are incapable of bearing the extra cost of shadow education. Hence, there has created inequality in education not only among the urban and rural students but also among the rich and poor students. Besides, engaged university students in supplementary teaching are hampering their productive time and academic results.
In 2017, 422155 and 214352 science majored students had appeared in SSC and HSC examinations respectively. Considering the grades of 9,10,11 and 12, the number of students would be more than 1273014. Besides, 80% of students go for coaching center and/or home tutors, where most of these supplementary teachers are university students.
It is very tough to reach every student in the densely populated classroom by the class teachers. The poor classroom teaching and the unwillingness of teachers also affect the students. The students are also incapable of understanding every topic from a textbook.
In 2017, more than 1.27 million students were studying in 9, 10, 11 and 12 grades who are from a science background. Science majoring students are decreasing because of its complexity and other factors and also affected by the shadow education system to learn Mathematics, English and Science related subjects.
The affected people are mostly school and college students from both urban and cities who will use the device. The students will go into some simple tests after every lesson to justify their clarity of concepts and knowledge. The advancement of students also would be inspected by their parents and class teachers to make sure they are in the track. The regular survey will be also done to update the contents to make the solution best fit.
The device will contain every topic from textbooks in a form not limited to video, audio, text and animations to make it easily accessible. If a student fails to understand a new particular topic, they will be recommended to the previous correlated topic using a specialized feature in this device. As the lectures would be highly qualified and properly arranged, every student will find it best fitted and interesting.
At the initial stage of this project, an electronic device like a tab will be provided. So, there would no internet connection to these devices, all will remain offline and students would use this device as a guide book or substitute of their textbooks. However, further improvement would be focusing on internet connection with the development of Bangladesh to connect all the same grade students in Q&A platform, to give access in some effective websites, to apply Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Big Data, etc. technologies for enhancing the effectiveness of the monitoring, quality control and feedback system.
To overcome the relevant problems, the project uses an electronic device containing different technologies:
- Video lectures on information, concepts, products, processes and mathematical problem describing these very clearly.
- Audios of texts mostly for English dictionary and other cases.
- Animations of products and processes
- Texts on relevant topics for examining and describing
- IT tools (e.g. programming, Microsoft packages, drawing software, etc.) to learn advanced technologies
- Q&A platform to connect the students for exploring knowledge and concepts
- Access on internet to explore important and informative websites
- AI, ML, Big Data, etc. would be implemented for continuous improvement
- Upskill, reskill, or retrain workers in the industries most affected by technological transformations
- Support underserved people in fostering entrepreneurship and creating new technologies, businesses, and jobs

A concept has been developed to create a new framework to help the involved students in the process of their learning.
There are several facts that make the solution innovative:
- As all the conceptual and complex contents would be in video and animation format, students can get better access to the deep insight of these topics than only the texts and images on textbooks.
- All of the lectures would be highly qualified as lectures from skilled teachers, so students from different financial background or regions will get an equal learning opportunity.
- Slow/weak learner can repeat the same lecturer again and again, so they don’t need to go for teachers or shadow education after regular classes. However, after the development of the Q&A platform, they can take help from it.
- As every student need to go through some simple tests after the completion of a lecture to get access to the next lecture, their basic knowledge and clarity of concepts would be confirmed.
- The price of this device would be very less compared to the extra cost of shadow education, so parents from below poverty lines can afford it.
- Student do no need to buy extra devices like calculator and PC for practicing computation and IT tools.

In the current situation, mostly the science majoring school and college students need assistance after their regular classes to understand the topics that they have learned in the class. MIT’s MITili reported that roughly 30 percent preferred reading, 30 percent preferred lecture, 20 percent preferred video, and another 20 percent preferred another form of learning (including hands on and interactive learning). If students get a chance to learn from textbooks, class lectures, video and a little hands on activities in school or college, that is covering more than 80% of them. Slow learner, rural and financially poor students will be benefited permanently both economically and socially. They can learn these topics by themselves at their home. It will also give economic solvency to the families where the students belong to. The home tutors and coaching center teachers may suffer by losing their job in the shadow education system but they could join in different shops and entrepreneurial activities which will make a cultural and economical positive change in Bangladesh respectively. It is worth to be mentioned that, after some years, the parents can spend their saved money while their children admit to universities which they needed to spent in shadow education. Hence, most of the university students will not need to serve in the shadow education system, so their academic result will be better.
The students, teachers and parents are needed to be positive toward using this device since the whole society will be benefited at a time.

Currently, only I am working for this solution.
As I have completed my primary, secondary and higher secondary education in the rural area in Bangladesh, taught different grades student ranging from 8 to 12 as a home tutor for more than four years on Mathematics, English and Science related subjects in urban areas, I have learned the basic problems with these students from both regions.
Additionally, I have completed my B.Sc. in Industrial & Production Engineering, thus I have achieved the analytical skills on system/product design, analysis and development along with the basic of management science. Besides, at university, I have also worked with an IT-oriented organization that helps to create a connection with several people from diverse backgrounds and practicing leadership skills. Hence, It would not be tough to create the relevant contents and work for the project while sufficient funding is managed.
Currently , there is not any partnership with any organization.
In the initial stage our key customers will be 9,10,11 and 12 grades since majoring students from throughout country. However, this would be explored to the rest of the grades students.
An electronic device containing learning materials will be provided to them. Students will get this product from local market.
My business will follow a Low-Income Client as Market Model to make sure an equal access for all classes of citizens in education.
Money will come from selling these products to fund my work. Products will be sold in a lower price to the poor and low income rural people compared to rich urban people.
