Teaching skills of the future - on and offline
- Pre-Seed
We teach future-proof, job ready skills in emerging fields of Design and Technology. Our physical courses are supplemented with outcomes driven online learning by late 2017. We teach User Experience Design, Service Design, Virtual Reality Design, Augmented Reality Design, Growth Marketing, Product Management & Social Enterprise Design.
We are a growing, independent educator that teaches in-demand skills in Design, Technology and Social Enterprise.
Our solution is to extend our current physical content and create world-class online content that is translated into all major languages. With a social conscience, we will allocate a number of partner-sponsored places in all classes both on and offline for disadvantaged youth.
As our content is well matured and gaining a reputation for being outcomes-driven, industry relevant and future-focused, we have started the foundations for our online platform and intend to partner with global corporations for the distribution of such content.
With the World Economic Forum identifying the essential skills of the future, our objective is to ensure that all participants in our courses learn both technical and soft skills that will ensure that their skills are relevant for the jobs of the future. We know that in 5, 10 and 20 years time, many traditional jobs from the Industrial Revolution era are to become automated. Our courses teach students skills of the future in creativity, design, collaboration and technology.
Courses we currently teach are User Experience Design, Service Design, Virtual Reality Design, Augmented Reality Design, Growth Marketing and Product Management. With our socially-minded commitment, we have already piloted a Social Enterprise Design program and will launch this course in late 2017.
Our vision is to create industry and societal shifts through education in design and technology. We’re building a high growth, viable and profitable company with social enterprise and early education as part of our DNA. With the building of our online learning platform, we’re taking the opportunity to utilise our community and content offer quality education in future proof skills for less privileged parts of our global community.
The shortage of Design and Technology talent is a significant problem globally and issue that is largely being neglected by traditional education models. Our goal is to close the digital skills gap by using our online and traditional classroom capability to teach relevant and job-ready skills in Design and Technology. With a vision of being a lifetime learning hub, our programs start from early education through to teaching working professionals the necessary soft and technical skills required for the future of employability.
Reports show that 60-70% of Australian students are currently studying or training for jobs that either won't exist, or will look completely different, in the next 10 to 15 years. By 2025 up to 40% of these jobs will no longer exist or will have evolved to something different. We’re addressing some serious problems for our current workforce by actively working towards developing these skills for our next generation of workers. The World Economic Forum articulates what The Future of Jobs looks like whilst the Foundation for Young Australians has more research papers that backs this up.
The impact of our solution is to teach future-proof, job-ready skills to youth across the world ensuring that they can participate in what is known as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, giving students the capacity to contribute to the world now and in the future.
All youth who have access to internet and mobile and/or desktop technology will benefit by learning skills that will allow them to contribute to society economically and in their communities.
Deployment of our content will be on and offline, depending on the region, with continual updates to content that will ensure relevance into the future.
Track registrations, participation and completion of courses. - Train 1,000,000 youth online
Track the number of people who have registered on our online platform and monitor the number of people who participate in our community events. - Create a global learning community both on and offline.
Ongoing monitoring of participants of our courses both on and offline and active participation from former students as mentors in their chosen fields - As a result of our training, have 500,000 youth employed in Design and Tech by 2025 as a result of taking our courses

Our intent with our courses is to create an outcomes based model where physical learning environments are supplemented by mobile, desktop and mixed reality modes. Moving away from the one to a few teaching model, our physical, online and mixed reality intent is to create a many-to-many community based model to write, deliver and evolve our content ensuring that we remain best of breed.
Having created proprietary content in our classes, we are working on a federated content model of continually evolving tools, templates and resources that ensure our learning community stays abreast of trends in their chosen fields.
Our core courses focus on human-centred design:
... we live and breathe what we teach. We have a dedicated Experience team and already have social programs in place, partnering with many important charities and social enterprises.
We never design or create in isolation; our community of teachers, students, team members and partners are active in Academy Xi and we have embedded community into our core.
Our face to face courses have a dedicated scholarship place for either a disadvantaged youth or woman returning to the workforce. Our online and VR platforms will be designed to ensure fair and equitable access and we are already forging strong partnerships with great commercial and not-for-profit organisations such as Talent, Thoughtworks, Growth Hackers AU, Isobar, D&AD, FYA, Coder Factory Academy, Future Assembly, Girls in Tech, Giant Thinkers, Remarkable, WWF, UNICEF amongst others.

We were founded in January 2016 and raised seed capital in August 2016. We have been cash flow positive from the outset and we intend to scale globally both physically and online.
We have started discussions with a number of large corporations to deliver online training for their teams and participation in our existing courses is growing month on month.
Our next wave of investment is to ensure scalability into 2018. With the correct partnership support, we will use this investment as a platform for growth first in Australia then APAC and eventually into all continents.

We’re establishing a school of the future, a new alternative place for learning, a community where people can belong and gain a sense purpose. We’re preparing people for the future by providing them with an emerging skill set. At some point, our community will be the talent of the future and will be able to change the world for the better. Nowadays, one person with design or development skills can affect a billion people. The world has shifted and anyone has the power to be what they’re supposed to be.
Great organisations such as Talent, Thoughtworks, Growth Hackers AU, Isobar, D&AD, FYA, Coder Factory Academy, Future Assembly, Girls in Tech, Giant Thinkers, Remarkable, WWF, UNICEF amongst others. Our investment partners are, currently, Vivant Ventures and once we close our Series A investment, we can announce our strategic investment partners.
