Nativo is the first web and mobile edtech platform teaching children how to become technology creators in Latin America. The app comprises software, a fully-developed STEM K12 curriculum and a subscription-based "DYI" makers boxes system. It is available in 6 languages, functions both online/offline, in web and mobile devices.
Worldwide, there is a digital gap: there are not enough workers prepared for the jobs that are being created. In the USA alone, a 1.5 million job-deficit by 2020. By 2030, 2 billion jobs could be robotised and 60% of the most important jobs don't exist yet, and will be all technology related. Over 90% of the world's population under 30 lives in emerging economies and yet, on average, only 1 out of 10 children are considered digital natives. In LATAM, 4 out of 10 children are considered "poor" and less than 50% of the youth finishes high school.
Coding skills have proven to be vital for development. Research shows there is a growing trend of technology everywhere. Preparing children with technology skills gives them an edge to create solutions and empowers them to become change makers.
Within 30 months, we have impacted over 250,000 people directly and indirectly. We have generated over $2,000,000 USD by creating jobs and ventures directly and indirectly, and the quality of life of our students has improved as described in research done by Rice University and the World Bank (decodingbootcamps.org). We have received the support of organisations like MIT, MassChallenge, the IDB, Endeavor.
In the next 3-5 years we expect to have reached over 7,000 academic institutions worldwide, impacting over 10 million children and enabling the goal of keeping our promise to solve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. We are already working with organisations like the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico (largest network of alumni in the country), University of Gerona (Spain) and University of Barcelona (Spain). We aim to leverage our networks of allies to deliver on our promise and medium-term vision.

Nativo's technology is inclusive, meaning the systems work for both developed and developing regions. The application works both online and offline as well as for both web and mobile devices. The application is available in six languages also, at the B2C and B2B levels. Nativo's STEM K12 curricula is gamified and the users can select avatars that will grow as they evolve. Nativo's technology is adaptive, we created a "Digital DNA" concept that is competencies and data-driven. The application allows parents, teachers, institutions as well as children to create their own profile and be engaged.
1. The design process we used to develop Nativo was human-centered. We focused on data to create technology that is relevant to underserved markets and that could be of value based on the infrastructure of the region.
2. We worked with teachers, students, parents and staff from public/private institutions to develop the contents, the systems and the software.
In Latin America, access to high-quality education is a luxury. A region with so much potential deserves better opportunities as people struggle to be trained in relevant subjects and with relevant processes.
We also developed different price ranges to allow users to access the services from different ranges/acquisition power. We also made more "tangible" what we do, by creating merchandise, Makers Boxes, and pre-paid cards while leveraging different distribution systems (small stores, big stores, allies, social media).
Our key partners are organisations like colleges, public governments, international organisations, teacher associations and brand ambassadors.
By enabling underserved populations to access training that sets apart competitiveness and gives them skills that increase their quality of life, we are unleashing approaching human developing from an inclusive perspective.

We are monetising and scaling operations. We have already generated revenue and have several letters of intent from organisations in Mexico, Colombia, Brazil and Spain. We are barely breaking even at the moment since we have invested 100% of our income in research, development and growth.
We are adopting a global yet local strategy. All of our characters have their local ethnicity representation: black, latino, arabic, white, asian. The app is available in six languages with content-specific design by region.
We took into account how everyone accesses learning information from different angles and devices: the apps work both online and offline as well as from a device and a web device. We are also partnering with local organisation that share our vision: from governments to colleges to associations to international organisations.
One of our main challenges relates to the "newness" of this type of training. We are not only creating a market through evangelisation and education of why learning technology/digital skills is relevant in the region, but we are also training people with those skills. Our main limiting factors are:
1. Growing yet small group of allies for distribution and commercialisation.
2. Lack of financial Resources to scale growth
3. Needed expertise in early childhood education for digital skills training.
4. Growing yet still narrow openness for solution from academic institutions.
