Lee - The Humanoid Robot
Now a days the use of robots is increasing at a rapid rate. Humanoid robots, while being one of the smallest groups of service robots in the current market, have the greatest potential to become the industrial tool of the future. Research in Humanoid is also necessary, as humanoid robots are excelling in the education, medical industry, especially as companion robots. Creating opportunities among the students to study Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Human Robot Interaction opens all the possibilities to grab the pace of globalization that has been changing drastically riding on the amenities of automation.
In Bangladesh, there are many students and researchers want to research in advance robotics like Humanoid robots. For that we have to buy robots from abroad. Buying a technological product is very time consuming and very costly and we have to pay high taxes also. As humanoid robots consist of many complex sector to handle, it always teach us a new technique to solve a problem. We have made a Bipedal Humanoid robot named 'Lee' that can speak bengali, detects human face, deliver the answer of a given question and walk like a baby. After 10/15 years, we will use the robot for not only research purposes but also human assistant.
As said before, It will open the opportunities for a large number of student In Bangladesh. In addition it will help disable people in home with their regular task.
We are providing a Humanoid Robot that has the capability of walking and this is the first time in Bangladesh. Bipedal Walking is a very critical research topic along with other things in humanoid robots.
The technology is pretty simple. We made the robot using the components that available in Bangladesh. Currently we are using google API for speaking but later we will be using our own model and API.

Humanoid robots are not a new thing. But our Idea is to built a humanoid robot that can interact with people in Bangladesh using bengali. It will help people in nursing or teaching children at home.
Though technology is rising very dramatically, we get updated. But, our research in our country is not sufficient for us. It will help a lots of students as well as some people who seeks assistant.
'Lee' is in the development phase. Lee will be walking smoothly after one year and after five year it will help people with disabilities and teach the children.
Funding, some machines and advance lab.
We are trying to get some attention from those people who are interested in our project and think that Lee will be helpful robot one day. Donations from them will help us to overcome our barrier.
- Not registered as any organization
The founder members of the firday lab were 5 people.
Now 15 members are working on it.

9 - Half time
Friday Lab is one of the best robotics team In Bangladesh. Because each member is not only skilled but also passionate in Humanoid Robots. Our project leader has been working in the robotics sector for 7 years. Graduated from SUST CSE.
In addition, we have members from Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Architecture as well and all of them are competitive robotics experts. Some of them are unbeatable in some situations in Bangladesh.
We do not have any organization partner. We got funding from ICT division for this humanoid robot.
We will sell our robots to different universities and abroad as well. Like NAO robot we want to make our robot as a product.
We have some side projects that will turn into a product that will make us some money to sustain along with our humanoid robot.
First of all, we need a funding to develop our project so that our project can help other people. Secondly, we must master some technologies regarding the humanoid as development in humanoids is very low in Bangladesh.Last but not least,We need some experts to advise us.
