Sophie

Women are constantly in the danger of being sexually abused and harassed  on public transports, offices, schools, various employment institutions and even their own homes. The extent of abuse furthers to homicides in many cases. The victims are not always able to produce evidence of the crime happening or unable to seek help urgently, and as such the criminals remain unaffected and unpunished, thus furthering the possibility of more heinous crimes towards women. Sophie aims at making spontaneous contact with potential sources of assistance acting like an SOS system and the nearest law enforcing agency for immediate help, attaching the location of the victim as well as video recording the incident in real-time and storing it on cloud storage as evidence for further investigation. Sophie, we believe, can not only reduce the number and aggression of such crimes, but also can protect victims from being harmed severely.

As reported by ActionAid (in 2015), 84% of females from seven cities of Bangladesh faced 'derogatory comments and sexually coloured abusive language', while 54.7% of women living in urban areas faced physical, psychological, financial, social violence and unwanted physical contact by strangers as reported by ActionAid (2017). Furthermore, among women commuting in public transports in Bangladesh, 94% of the respondents experienced sexual harassment of which 81% women kept silent while 79% got away (BRAC 2017). Rapes and sexual violence against children has seen an alarming increase of 41% in the first half of 2019 compared to 2018 according to reports from Bangladesh Shishu Adhikar Forum (BSAF). Alleged major incidents included rapes, murder and kidnapping, of which rape topped the list with 496 cases. The total number of violence against women has already reached 2,083 by halfway of 2019, where 3,918 cases were reported in 2018. About 76% of university students said they were victims of sexual abuse. The official national statistics for Lifetime Non-Partner Sexual Violence is not available, but sources from various non-governmental organizations report that only 3-4% of the accused were convicted which is a factor contributing to the increase in number of cases. Also, most victims refrain from reporting the cases

Sophie is committed to serve 47% of population of Bangladesh and all are women around Bangladesh. Bangladesh is now developing country. Men & women is like a two wheel of the country. Men & women both must contribute equally to develop Bangladesh. As women are now facing lots of difficulties that's why they can't contribute and involve themselves for the bigger perspective. Women are now being harassed either at work place or at educational institutions like school, college, university or while going to desired destination. Sophie wants to ensure better environment where woman can go anywhere and do any work without fear of herself.  Bangladesh can't improve much only by men. Our beloved country needs both. Ensuring safe environment is the most wanted desire of every woman.

Sophie is the smart watch. It has multiple application. It can select 5 trusted contacts the location nearby. When someone moves to another location, contacts will be changed automatically according to the nearby location. So that if something happens, woman can get help immediately from the contacts. Sophie can call automatically to local police station and collect evidence so that victim can get justice. We want to use GPS tracker. We also want to march with icloud, official emergency number of the country 999.

Now everyone is more or less consulted on the safety issue of girls, which is very optimistic. But there are still problems with finding the right help in times of trouble. Every second is very important as a girl can get traumatized for a lifetime, or even cause physical harm if they don't get any help at that moment. Girls almost never get justice. That is why crime is overcome and new criminals are encouraged. There are some mobile based app and some special clothing. One has to put on her mobile and shake it or someone gets notify after touching some parts of victim's body. We strongly believe it is time consuming and shouldn't be done. Sophie can be time saving by pressing the button for one time. woman can get help immediately by 999 or her relatives. Sophie can save life before damaging or happening something worse. That's makes our idea innovative.

Woman can be harassed. Woman can be harmed. They are available to fulfill anyone bad desire. Woman cannot speak up. We just change the idea of woman which we are portraying since our childhood. We want to establish woman as a human being. We want believe they can work like men. They can move forward with their life like men. We want to give the platform where there are no difference between men and women. So that they can work together.

We see women cannot get justice because the lack of evidence for some years. Sometimes they just cannot speak up. So the crime is overcome and criminal are encouraged to be more violent. Statistics shows the worst picture. 76% of universities student face sexual harassment once in a lifetime. rape is like a regular phenomena. But we feel the situation is alarming. We want to build Bangladesh  safe for everyone. This is the background which inspires us to come up with women safety solution SOPHIE.

We provide to women. Sophie will start working as soon as they press the button and a message will be sent along with a link to a  trusted number of that location.it will also call to 999 and after each 10 seconds the voice will be recorded which will be stored on the drive.As a result the whole problem will be handled very tightly. It will allow girls to trust the workplace and fiercely enclose themselves in any task.
